jeez, the things xbox addicts will do to make sure they wont get RROD just buy a new one that doesnt get RROD it'll cost you less then that watercooling thing
Why on earth would you spend so much money on an xbox? And you'd better hope like hell it prevents RROD, since now your warranty isn't worth squat. Stick with PCs if you're going to spend this kind of money to play games. ..Or buy a PS3.
All you need are those talismoon fans. I went up north, camping, for a month, accidently left the xbox on, no overheat, but a bunch of messages over LIVE that were really annoying.
I think its pretty sad that someone has to go through the trouble of buying all this shit just so their Xbox won't get the RROD, Microsoft really fucked up on this one..
damn he should be the one making xbox 360's lol he does a way better job than microsoft themselves.this guy has fucking talent he regular xbox 360's look like child's play.
wanna know how i dont get rrod i put heat resistant spray paint on my xbox over the vents >.< ive had the same xbox since release i put it on bout 2 months after release i have never had rrod
nice, i personaly like the speed of the fans to be controlled by a nob that twists as opposed to a switch. switch has only two options but a nob will allow alot more.
@SlaughteredInside i know its loud but ive been rrod free ever since i got it its especially good due to the external power but the con is its loud as heck
@SlaughteredInside The nykos are rubbish. I have one and i mean £14 quid it was worth it but they have small fans --> loud noise. Get a laptop fan that goes under the xbox and it can have led's and makes it a cool mod without messing up warranty
great vid and 360 man, love it! but i need some help. when you installed the talismoons did u run them off 12 volts or the stock 5 volts. and did the exos come with dual pumps originally?? greatly appreciate anyones help..
actually since the die sizes are constantly getting smaller, thus creating less heat and being more efficient, water/liquid cooling might never be needed, even today liquid is not needed at all, it just cools much better than air, plus it looks cool haha
that is true to a point, but today people are tyring to pack in like 3 gtx 275 with a i7 oc to like 6 ghz and crap lol, but yeah you do have a point. Water cooling does look bad ass, but i have issues with the idea that one little leak can destroy the whole machine.
so how much did the hole mod coust you cuz im really thinking about doing the mod to my 360 and fix the rrod pls reply and commit my vids nice mod and what is your gamer tag and ill talk to you on xbox live and get more info on the mod from talking to you
very nice 360 even though im not a a fan of pre-built kits, or external watercooling on the 360. Check out my 360, ive got another one on the way and a lian li xb01 case on the way, and it will be watercooled
X-box 360, has not been made with the best materials to keep it playing for a really really long time, so the fans and the water cooling will enable your X-box 360 from overheating. Not to mention it looks SICK!! nice.
did it ever break once, does it still work perfectly?
You mean now you have two different fans, two inside the case and one outside the case right?
what's the difference between the temperature of a normal xbox 360 when it plays a game to a modified xbox 360 with liquid cooling installed on it? I know that keep the temperature of the console less high is good, but what the difference between these two consoles?
and to modify mine, how much do I have to pay for it, and install it? any risks?
about the watercooling of xbox 360, I was wondering if the water that flows through the tubes inside the box and outside too could ever break and affect the internal parts of the console? what could happen then?
yes they could break but depending on the liquid you are using, so if your just using water you will short your system out but if you use a non or low conductivity liquid then you have less of a chance to fry your system
Looks really nice but i really dont see the point in these mods for the xbox 360. The new ones will never get the rrod unless ur dumb enough to wrap a towel around it while you play.
Appart from looking good it isnt going to do much, the graphics are not going to improve just maybe a few extra frames per sec.
Do you know if i can connect a 4-pin Molex to somewere in the xbox 360?, I have a small temp monitor but the blue back light will only work if the 4 pin molex is plugged in, I connected a Battery to it which worked however it only last a hour or so.. I have no idea about electronics so if you could help that would be great.
Mine no longer freezes and I've yet to get RROD. My temperatures never exceed 100F. A stock system will get up to 140 - 150F. I have had lockups on Madden 09 but I think its SW related and not HW. No other game lock up.
@ChickenBizkut The RROD (3 rings or E74) are ALL due to leadless soldering on the cpu and gpu heatsink so a liquid cooled one will remove these idiotic features and remove the rrod :)
By installing the cooling systems, does this allow the Xbox 360 not to freeze, crash or have any other defects? Is this a cure for the Red Ring of Death? Please explain. Thank You.
I find this very sad that microsoft made such a shitty console. I have a 360 and it broke twice im on my 3rd one. The 1st one was a premium one year after the launch my 2nd one was an regular elite not the falcon chip and now i have a 3rd one with the falcon chip elite. TY best buy warranty. Also XBOX 360 quality sucks. They should've invested more money in making a more reliable system. You don't see cooling solutions for PS3. = ). 360 games are better though = ).
So do you think this setup will eliminate the RROD syndrome most if not all XBOX systems are prone to have. Had red lights and got it fixed but got it again. Thanks Microsoft. Great looking mod.
I can tell you already I think it solves the RROD problem and lockups which are a sign of future RROD. I put a temp monitor on standard XBOX 360 unit with basic cooling. Temps get to 140 F. Crazy hot and that is everyone who buys a standard unit.
