Mid 90's - Mid 2000's was my favorite era. All the good cartoons, my favorite bands emerging, everything was cheap and enjoyable, anything didn't need to be in HD to be good to anyone, internet didn't piss over society, and games were actually good. I miss my childhood :c
'90s were the best for music. Amazing grunge, alternative and also the beginning of emo, post-hardcore before it all became whiny bullshit. Sub Pop put out so much good shit, from Nirvana and Mudhoney to Sunny Day Real Estate and so much more. Then you have Initial Records that put out some truly incredible stuff.
@realjaygenius Same here, was interesting when I was young watching how the elders did things. Like you send a medium or long text to a woman about something deep & she stupidly replies back "lol okay or "sure" or "okay then", I can't stand that. Loads dump a lot of men through texts & purposely miscommunicate which creates a break-up. The down sides to texting :-(
I cosign completely, I don't know if it has anything to do with my childhood up to my freshman year in high school being in the 90s, but mostly everything in the 90s were the best.
1990s had the best cartoons. And the Yankees had a great run, they won the world series in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000. Mereley did it 2001, which would of been great because it was a tough time for New York after 9/11. But damnit I miss that 1990s Yankees team,
@spinnernet1 you're right, my bad. And they barley got away with it in 2000. Sure, they won in five games but they were all one run games and some pretty bad calls in the first game. I remember in the 2000 world series there was a tremendous amount of pressure on the yanks because they didn't want to possibly lose to the mets.
@realjaygenius True but texting was around in the 90's. Late-90's my dad had a mobile phone & you could text message on it but he only used it to call other landlines really. That phone was like a brick lol. Had a flip cover over the buttons & long antenna lol. But I see what you're saying...01/02 was when the sudden mobile phone explosion began.
In a way like 08/09 was when was flat-screen, blu-ray HD explosion began.
The 1990's was the last good decade for pop culture as a whole and when I say pop culture I mean music, films, video games, television etc, but since about 2000 its all been steadly declining and the decline has led to shit that is passed off as entertainment today.
seriuosly 90's wuz a bad ass time in alot of aspects...had Tupac/Biggie from Kurt Cobain with Nirvanna, Fresh Prince of Bel - Air, Married..with children, Friday came out, aslo Toy Story, Billy Madison, Little Giants, Independece day, Casino, hell even Clueless, our President at the time got his dicked sucked, South Park, Tyson knockin people out and bitting peoples ears off, Home improvement and on and on and on...oh yeah & the Attiude era
@Blackhaze3000 LOL 1500's. If I could time travel I'd live in the 1930's & 1940's, to me they look like 2 very interesting decades to live in...with the wars & technology advancing etc
Lisa Stansfield is awesome... I only recently discovered she's a white lady. lol BTW have you heard "All Around The World" with her performing a duet with Barry White? If you haven't... Then you haven't truly lived.
@Bobby33425 Stupid comment. I'm not "living in the past". I'm remembering and enjoying the past and reminiscing about it with other people who loved the 1990s. Life was better back then and I want to talk about it.
@spinnernet1 I get that a lot from my sister that I live in the past, mostly the 1980's because I loved the 80's. Just keep doing what you feel like, Spin. :-)
I turned 16 in the summer of 1990 and your right that whole decade was the shit. Those were the days. best time of my life. where's a time machine I wanna go back..
I could almost swear, that a the time Jarrett was doing his country singer gimmick there was an actual country singer named Davis Daniel who looked just like him.
90s had Biggie Pac Wu tang Clan Mobb Deep Nas Jay Z(when they were good) Aaliyah so much more. now we have Wayne Drake Rick Ross and Rihanna fuck this shit
I could almost swear, that a the time Jarrett was doing his country singer gimmick there was an actual country singer named Davis Daniel who looked just like him.
For me it was the NWA era, Death Row era, No Limit era, TLC, Lo-Key (back 2 da howse) great album btw, SWV, Ginuine, his wife Sole', most classic/soft rock songs, yep Jodeci was great too, MC Breed, Lady of Rage, Dj Battlecat, Dr. Dre, Dj Quik. Yep the 90's ruled in music as well as pretty much everything else. No greater decade!
"A Thousand Miles From Nowhere" by Dwight Yoakam, "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait, "Wink" by Neal McCoy, "Brand New Man" by Brooks & Dunn, and "Independence Day" by Martina McBride are just some of favorite country songs from the 90's.
I lived that decade out ages 5 and a half to 15... Good times.
Sitcoms were funnier, The 16-bit era was brilliant, Saturday Morning TV kicked ass on all contininents, MTV was really MTV, The Internet was still young, People actually rented VHS and in some cases Laser disc, You could get Pepsi for 35p or less. Comics were cheap as hell... What a time! And NIKE was THE Sneaker/Trainer/Runner (delete as applicable). Last true decade kids got to be kids (go outside, etc).
@Hulk2k6 your comment so beautiful, seriously. (-: I was a little kid in the 90's but damn it, I remember everything clearly. I miss the 90's. Please come back! Life was so much simple back then.
@Nevadajsp Dragonball is epic and still is epic. That is your opinion on the matter, pokemon was great too. They changed the main characters clothing and brought another 300+ I believe into the anime which kinda made it suck.
90's you had Nirvana, Pearl Jam, grunge then some gangster rap NWA, eazy stuff, etc then beautiful R&B then followed by that would come rap and pop like Britney Spears and Backstreet boys and finally to the crap that's mainstream at the moment. I'M SORRY MISS JACKSON!
I love the 90's. I was born in 1990. I love 90's music, movies, tv shows, and toys. Speaking of the 90's, the St. Louis Rams was a good team in the late 90's/ early 00's. They were called The Greatest Show On Turf.
