  • Awesome video. Another thing, it's probably good, once the kid is moving away from just playing the games, to tell them why you correct certain things. Like why the thumb goes on top (I think because it stops them from bending your wrist down and hurting you).

  • I think I'd probably get this video to learn how to raise kids.

  • this is just great, and this can apply to more then just BJJ, it kinda reminds me of work when in training, my boss just tells me what to do but never shows me calmly and makes me feel like crap. But yeah I hope most BJJ teachers are like this, what you showed the mistake of teachers where they slam their hand on the matt out of frustration....that is the least I want and it would make me feel stupid and I would never go again, and I am 20.

  • as a parent/teacher/coach this is some of the best words in regards to teaching children I have come across.

  • The way you guys explain is Awesome, my son has autism and understood your whole video and tryed it. AND IT WORKED!!. ..now he wants to get into martial arts...he says it make him feel confortble and said it will make him feel safer...

  • This is a very interesting teaching technique. I'll go as far as to say that you can use this technique in everyday life to you child

  • Hot sauce mom should take lessons from these chaps

  • This would have gone a long way with raising my kids. I'm wondering how I can impliment this now that their grown! Is it too late? If they aren't parents already, these guys will make great dads and uncles.

  • @likeomgutube It is not about teaching the child yet. They are just giving an example on what parents are doing something wrong.

  • @likeomgutube sounds like you've put a lot of thought into that fantasy.

  • SHUT UP FAGGOTS! NONE OF THESE ASSHOLE FIGHT GOOD

  • @StreetArtillery AND YOU DON'T SPEAK GRAMMAR GOOD

  • from 00:45-1:29 is pure genius

  • what is this :p

  • @turOloks1

    Gracie Jiu Jitsu for kids.

  • My 11-year old niece has seen me and my buddy roll before, and work techniques in the past. And recently she has begun to ask me to go show her some of the moves we do. This one piece of advice will help me EXPONENTIALLY in properly instructing her, and will also make teaching easier, and more fun. What you guys are teaching applies to more things than just Gracie Jiu-Jitsu!

  • thank you, this helps me in more ways u can imagine, i woudlnt be exagerating if i say this video helps me in dealing with my spouse and . well , basically my life gets better

  • Love these clips! Amazing and VERY inspiring!! These guys are great :D

  • Thank you for such great videos.

  • I've just watch a couple of your videos in teaching children, 10 out of 10 for them. As from tomorrow I will try to do the same with my youngsters, and some of my older slower guys. Why havn't i seen this clip earlier in life. Thanks for this life altering moment. Sensei Sias.

  • I think this may be the no. 1 important advise for anyone teaching any form of martial art to any age group. Eventually, class after class of slight adjustments of different mistakes will do the work on it's own and I could see where you could feel like a bad instructor knowing your students may be having a hard time grasping many techniques, but in the end it is time that will solve those slight problems. And I think it says alot about Rener's character to be able to admit his flaws as he did.

  • I don't know about their jiu jitsu, but they would be great comedians or interlocutors

  • @kamhal89 haha i agree but trust me their jiu jitsu is 100 times better than their jokes

  • this can be applied to many things in life... you guys are awesome... keep up the good work

  • "Do we really expect the child to do everything perfect?

*serious stare* if you do, you have issues" lmao

  • Holy crap! These guys are SMART and INPSIRING! They seriously need their own show or something...

  • Very good. Do you do something similar for your adult students? Using positive reinforcement instead of negative?

  • Excellent instructors.

  • Fascinating pointers on Education by The Gracie Brothers.

I strongly advise all those in the line of education (tuition teachers incl.) to take a look at this.. Amazing Value-Add, I promise... =D

  • I actually just purchased The Gracie Combatives DVD Collection & Gracie Bullyproof DVD Collection today. I can't wait to get them. I hope the Gracie Academy decides to release the Gracie Master Cycle on DVD. If they do, I assume they will probably release them by stripes for each belt instead of by belt due to the amount of moves that you have to master for 1 stripe but I really hope they release those on DVD. You can only make the online video so big, you can't make it full screen.

  • @GorillaKingdomFN

yeah, im really hoping they bring master cycle on DVD too. i have gracie combatives and i will be getting bullyproof too to help me teach my nephew.

    these guys are awesome teachers.

  • they are gracie brothers right?

  • @Nirvanalove1

yes. rener and ryron gracie, sons of rorion gracie.

  • These guys are awesome!!!!

    I love it.

  • i wish my parents raised me like this, great video!

  • This is, erm, well...

    PERFECT!

  • i think u can take this aspect of showing some1 something can be applied bout anywhere

  • so good to know this little piece of info so I can teach my 3 year old son more effectivley. Thanks guys

  • The Gracies are my idols. this video is outstanding! Can i live at your gym?

  • This is an awesome video. It's very inspiring. Please keep the videos coming. Thank you!

  • rener fuckin cracks me up, that guy smiles so much haha

  • That´s the very best way to teach mmaa and whatever in life. Thanks a lot.

  • PERFECT!!!

  • Wish my folks used the 'praise often' & stealth correction techniques when I was a kid. Instead of having fun & learning at my own pace, I was more caught up with trying NOT to get my parent's mad and getting frustrated by doing it for the wrong reason.

Thanks for the tips, guys. This will definitely help a lot of people out there be better parents.

  • You guys have a serious talent for being positive role models - something we really need for the perception of the fighting arts.

    Good job.

  • yep ...good vid

  • ok i wasnt a fan of the videos that digressed from bjj techniques... but this one is pretty good :)

  • So enjoyable, love you guys =)

  • lol Great!

  • Ryron never gets to talk...LOL Rener never lets him and hes so passionate about it

  • Wow haha, great job guys, my Dad did the "wrong" thing my entire childhood and just like you said it made me feel like the biggest idiot and a terrible person lol. This is a great video to make, hope people learn ! :)

  • excellent advice

  • Awesome!

  • amazing stuff i do the same praising with anyone

  • Why doesn't this have more views.

    Fantastic vid.
