Start a jam, rythm bass n drums. record... while thinking of the lyrics, listen to the recording as u pretend your lyrics are the lead guitar. then, add appropriate fillins n stuff based around how you want the lyrics to go. after your finished, bring in a lead guitar to fuck shit up, cause thats what they do, then you got a song.

Not bad. This is a hard song for anybody to sing. Layne had such a distinctive and original voice. Don't take this as an insult or anything because that's not my intention but you kind of have a similarity to Mike Patton.
