True, but they have only got the Vulcan up and running on donations. My quibble is that the Gov can't be arsed to pay something towards its upkeep, like 50% of the costs.
They used to own it, it did a great job for them in helping prevent a stupid nuclear war. I think they owe it to the aircraft.
You're dead right Bob. The citizens of the UK deserve a complete Government funded Cold-War era line up (Vulcan, Victor, Valiant, Lightning) on high-alert....so when the Klaxon sounds...you are treated to the display of a century.
Just amazing to see these old birds fly that way. Why oh why can't we have that kind of entertainment in the UK? Oh yeah, spoil sports and do-gooders -pollution, potential for crashes etc... not fair!
Is Old Yeller the plane that had Rockwell on the side that Hoover used to fly?? We have video of the wing on fire when Hoover landed it in the 1980's in Marysville, OH. The wing was sautered with the flaps down due to all the heat.
Guys, I have something to propose! Why not replacing the Tigercat's engines with more powerful ones; for example, they can install P&W R-4360 engines providing AT LEAST 3,000 hp each-and then the Big Cat will own every other racer! Take my opinion into consideration!!!

I used to love watching Bob Hoover in Ole Yeller. Of all the people in the world to buy that plane why an arrogant prick like John Bagley?

I think that such heavy iron aircraft epitomizes the energy of man..to not just accept his fate as
wingless creatures. No these are balls to the wall kind of guys. I think it is all of our fantacies to
move up from our pipers and cessnas for one such flight.
