In each person, these motivations are balanced a certain way and intervene in one another. "Spiritual development" may fall under "independence," "honor," or "curiosity," but it most certainly isn't the only thing necessary for good. Science does not understand all of the details of how these processes happen but they are still facts. Evolution is also a scientific fact even tough science doesn't not understand all of the details. All (not some but ALL) of the physical evidence ONLY supports Evolution.

I understand if a person have spiritual needs or belive there's some kind of higher or spiritual consciousness behind all in the world that's been discovered. Creationists who are mad about either have their "bible glasses" on, or have serious misconceptions about evolution and science in general. A good example of this would be confusing abiogenesis (beginning of life) or even the beginning of the universe with evolution. Evolution is merely random mutation filtered by natural selection. Another is that micro-evolution and macro-evolution are somehow different processes entirely, when really the only difference is time scale.

Science cannot operate without this basic assumption: All physical phenomena follow a mutual set of rules in their behavior, and these rules cannot be violated ... no miracles allowed.
Any religion that REQUIRES miracles is in conflict with science. But since most such religions still allow for miracles to be rare, this allows theistic scientists to compartmentalize their brains ... miracles happen "outside the lab ... somewhere."

Given that I've not subscribed to *any* other youtube sites (except my sister's) so far, it seems silly to consider my decision not to "subscribe" to the site as a big deal. I can still look at the sites when I want, and even use them for teaching evolution if I choose to. I just won't "subscribe." People should realize that sexist comments will indeed drive some of us away.
Feel free to do what ever you want. If it is only about "not to subscribe" fair enough. Nevertheless, I don't think you mention it whenever you don't subscribe to a channel!? So to me it seems you feel a bit offended, aren't you?

actually it is true. if creationists wanted to argue evolution they would have produced evidence or studies to give some facts disputing evolution. so far as of yet all attempts to disprove evolution has in fact turned up to prove evolution. dna was one of the biggest avenue's to disprove evolution. every attempt has failed. from the fused chromosomes to the rna virus markers, to observations of mutations within dna. it all points towards evolution.

@lunabirdie No one understands gravity but it is still a fact. An oak tree grew from an acorn is a scientific fact. A human baby was born form the union of human egg and sperm cells. These are facts. Science does not understand all of the details of how these processes happen but they are still facts. Evolution is also a scientific fact even tough science doesn't not understand all of the details. All (not some but ALL) of the physical evidence ONLY supports Evolution.

A theory is the highest level that can be achieved in the science world, it is based on testable observable evidence with results that can be reproduced, it is then peer reviewed so others can also test it. Only then is it a recognised theory

That is incorrect. You are trying to argue that scientists debate the validity of evolution. If a scientist is debating against evolution, he either has incredible evidence that nobody else has ever seen, or he is simply not a scientist. You cannot be a scientist if you ignore evidence that is independently verifiable.
There is no debate amongst scientists ABOUT EVOLUTION. Other concepts? Perhaps so, but certainly not about theories, unless new evidence arises.

No. The theory of gravity is a theory. The Law of Gravity is a description of the mathematics involved in working out the effects of gravity.
Science does not work as a nested heirarchy, with "theory", "fact", and "Law" in ascending order. Science starts with observation of facts, from which a hypothesis is drawn. The hypothesis is tested--repeatedly and by many people. If the hypotheses withstands the testing, then it becomes generally accepted as a theory. That's as good as it gets.

the "theory" of evolution does not contradict the "theory" of god. I believe those "theories" can get along very well if we keep an open mind.

You do not know what theory means scientifically. It means a body of knowledge which has been shown to be true and is constantly tested to improve it. There is much more evidence that evolution is true than there is a god if you would only investigate and not take someone else word for it.

and went to their 'main arguments against evolution' section.......i discovered none of their 'pillars' of creationist argument stand up whatsoever. I thought that a supposed reputable creation website would have some sort of argument integrity but there you go.

I understand if a person have spiritual needs or belive there's some kind of higher or spiritual consciousness behind all in the world that's been discovered. But when they start to deny the facts that people have the capability to understand and scientifically proove how this world might work is just degrading.

Creationists who are mad about either have their "bible glasses" on, or have serious misconceptions about evolution and science in general. A good example of this would be confusing abiogenesis (beginning of life) or even the beginning of the universe with evolution. Evolution is merely random mutation filtered by natural selection. Another is that micro-evolution and macro-evolution are somehow different processes entirely, when really the only difference is time scale.

Thanks man for creating these videos. I wholeheartedly agree with you that there is nothing wrong with a belief in a higher power, the break comes when you try to impose those beliefs on others and when you make beliefs pass as science. There is something I do not understand though. Why are the creationists so mad? If evolution is true, does it mean God does not exist? Jesus preached love. If there was definite evidence of God's non existence, would you stop loving people?

In their eyes, it means yes. In the normal religious populous, it means by using science you are actually building a relationship with God cuz you are finding out how his big grand universe works. Some people are incompatible with the idea that God can use and not break the laws of physics to get us here. :)

Science cannot operate without this basic assumption: All physical phenomena follow a mutual set of rules in their behavior, and these rules cannot be violated ... no miracles allowed.
Any religion that REQUIRES miracles is in conflict with science. But since most such religions still allow for miracles to be rare, this allows theistic scientists to compartmentalize their brains ... miracles happen "outside the lab ... somewhere."

Given that I've not subscribed to *any* other youtube sites (except my sister's) so far, it seems silly to consider my decision not to "subscribe" to the site as a big deal. I can still look at the sites when I want, and even use them for teaching evolution if I choose to. I just won't "subscribe." People should realize that sexist comments will indeed drive some of us away.
