  • Great tutorial, Thanks for explaining :)

  • @SuperErin21 No problem, thank you for your comment and feedback.

    Nice One ; )

  • hey man, where's the traktor timecode video?! :P

  • Do you have to buy the time coded disc or can you get them free

  • @vernellstube No you can download them for free from the VDJ or serato website.

just Google for serato time code cd download and you should be able to download it free of charge.

    Nice One ; )

  • How can I fix my setup I got it all done but once I hit play then stop the teack on virtual dj keeps playing how can I fix that?

  • hey james i got a question could i time code without a mixer and connect rcas sraight to the speakers??

  • @DJbeatdown1 Yeah, you can just plug the CD players directly into the computer and connect the computer directly to the speakers.

You would be just using the mixer in VDJ.

Hope this helped and thanks for your comment.

    Nice One ; )

  • Awesome, I just got me a behringer m6 + 2 Numark NDX400's. I was tryin' to find out if I could use the cdj's with Traktor. I'm gonna go pick me up two Behringer U-Controls. Thanks for the video! :D

  • @DJTwistedFlow also have 2 ndx400's and a numark m6... can't get traktor scratch duo to work? Can you?

  • @NLjordy14 I have yet to get me two behringer U-Controls. I need like 70 dollars, don't have that at the moment though. I will soon. When I get all the stuff and try it out I'll give you a holler. I'm just using Traktor Pro 2 though. Not Scratch Duo. I don't know if that would interfere with anything.

  • Hi have u uploaded a video of how to timecode with cd's on traktor? can't find one... i have numark ndx 400 nd versaport soundcard running with traktor scratch pro... cant figure out to do it.... maybe you can shed some light on what im sure is a simple thing i've missed. cheers

  • so to connect 2 cdjs I need 2 behringer U-Control??

  • @chokinho7 Hi there, it would be easier to set up if you did buy 2 but you don't have to, you can just use one and your on board sound card if you want to.

As long as you have ASIO 4 all installed, you can use any sound card that is ASIO compatible (which is most of them these days anyway)

hope this helped you and thanks for your comment.

    nice one!!!

  • hey I was wondering where you got that shirt "FCUK what a ride" from, awesome shirt, did you buy it online?

  • This is a GREAT video... but I have one problem... I have everything hooked up correctly. Instead of a CD player, I'm using the CD player from my turntables for more control. When I press play, the song on Virtual DJ plays but the feedback sound from the timecode plays along with it. No matter what I do, I can't get only the music to play by itself.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any suggestions?

  • hey Bro..can you please show some tutorials on how to set up that time code using the built in sound card of a laptop with only one cd deck..gee thanks.

  • I have a question, i have two Newmark NDX 400's and a Behringer DJX-750 mixer, can i just connect the two cd players to the input on the behringer djx 750 and then the master output from the mixer goes into the sound card and into my computer usb. Then if i put timecoded cd's into the cd players and start the cd players up will that work with virtual DJ 7?

  • thanks a bunch man! you are wonderful, just sub'd

I want to add a numark ndx400 (cd player)

I know I need to download the mp3, but how do I connect it to the behringer and stl use my mixer? Do i need 2 soundcards?. I want to use my external mixer with ONE ndx400. How can I make it work?

  • /watch?v=eq4Z2x8HWGQ

  • Can anyone answer this does Time coded cd work with any cd players? I have the stanton s.252 and i know their pretty crappy so thats why i wonder if they cans till be used with traktor?

  • hei i was wondering...u can do the same as u did with turntables???

connecting only 1 UCA202 and then split the imput from cd???

or for timecode with CD is necessary to buy 2 Soundcards??

    thanks mate...love your videos...

  • I went out and brought the Numark VIRTUAL VINYL (DIGITAL VINYL SYSTEM) works great with Virtual DJ but i was trying to figure out how to make the sound card i have with VIRTUAL VINYL to work with other programs such as Traktor and Scratch Live. Any ideas?

I also went out and got the Traktor, and Serato timecode vinyl.Traktor vinyl works a lot better with Virtual DJ. It even blows tho's serato vinyl out the water.

  • easy james! i like watching you videos, even tho i dont use any of the same stuff you do. im a serato user thats gone from vinyl to cd BUT im gonna keep my technics to have a 3 deck set up :) u seem like a pukka bloke would great to have you as a pal! u know shit loads about eletronics, im a lover of it myself.

great videos mate keep them coming!

  • @DjPerryDay thanks mate, im glad you like the videos, I find it quite hard to make videos that everyone likes it seems some people like some and other people like other videos, if you know what I mean?

yeah you should keep the old technics, even if I never use them again I don't think I could ever get rid of my 1210's they've been so loyal to me.

thank you very much for your comment and your feed back its well appreciated.

    nice one!!!

  • great info shared

  • @1djamps thank you, im glad you like the video.

    thank you for your comment.

    nice one!!!

  • mate were do u get virtual dj from?

  • @1djamps I went to a music shop round the corner from me, they do bundle copy's.

its a proper version but its not in a box or proper package its just in the paper sleeve.

its a copy that is normally bundled with hardware, but he sells them cheaper than normal.

only its closing down now so I think I might go in there ad see if he's selling anything off cheap, its still annoying though that shop was well handy.

    thanks for your comment.

    nice one!!!

  • Great video, good explaining, thank you =]

  • @DJPowersXD thank you, I'm glad you like the video.

thank you for your comment and your feed back.

    nice one!!!

  • Great Video! if your cd player has a loop function would you be able to use it and the track on VDJ would loop? and would the effects on your cd player work with the track that was playing on VDJ?

  • @drumkiter in absolute mode loops should work. effects wont.

  • @drumkiter yeah loop would work, but effects wouldn't.

I did notice though that when the loop is active it playes on for a split second after the point that is was meant to loop but im 99% sure that that is my CD player, its very old and its on it way out and I think it does that with normal CD's.

    thank you for your comment.

    nice one!!!

  • Thanks a lot James, that clears up a lot! Which edition of Traktor are you going to run? Would you be able to control normal Traktor Duo/Pro (non-scratch versions) with this method? A couple hundred quid less to pay!

The feature comparison chart on the Native Instruments website says the Duo and Pro editions don't have time code control. I reckon that's because those editions don't include a AUDIO 4/8 DJ audio interface?

Either way, I'm definitely going to try this setup. Thanks a lot.

  • Great video as usual. Nice to see timecode on the cheap. Look forward to seeing the Traktor setup. Cheers, Lee.
