Chrono Trigger - Lavos Core

The most unique boss ever lol. I remember playing this a year ago, and I faced Lavos. I kept attacking the middle, and getting counterattacked, and after finally killing the middle, I did a victory dance! Looks like Lavos wasn't beaten. I learned that on his left was the core.

Also, an easy way to beat him is actually to get the Venus Bow, Apocalypse Arm, and Dream Sword (optional), and use the bow and arm to attack the core, while Chrono deals some damage to the other 2.

I always thought this was a strange final boss. Just thet fact that the center part which looks to be the main part is actually just an additional enemy but the little ball on the right is what needs to die.

Out of all the Lavos battles I saw this was probably the most interesting combo of characters

And really, if you're new, the humanoid appearance being the red herring is fun.
