  • wow this man is awesome his sir etcor from "the sword in the stone" is so funny and his sherriff of nottingham in "robin hood" is funny too! but his animation on the villainous tiger shere khan is absolutely terrifying and menacing at the same time

  • ahh.. i miss the old Disney. that artwork is priceless

  • Watching this made me smile, and realize something. That I can't give up, but at the same time I must give it my best - work hard. Big inspiration indeed. :)

  • A true legend was lost the day he died...

  • @smartndumb101 He lives on in all his nice drawings and Penciltests still beeing kept in the Hand of Disneys Drawing Libary and archives (they keep every drawing ever produced in the name of disney.

also Milt Kahl inspired so many artists by his words an work that he is truly a legend beyond Death

  • @smartndumb101 A true legend never dies. His work lives on and is there to be enjoyed still.

  • you're the finest draftsman in disney history and you don't care to draw outside animation...the weirdest thing i ever heard.

anyway he is still the best animator ever. period.

  • The Aristocats 1970 1/8

  • Milt is my favorite animator of all time. His work, especially since I know how hard it is to do well, always takes my breath away.

  • if you don't aim high you won't get anywhere

    spoken by the master

    Kahl

  • Lol at 1:11 the dude don't mess around when it comes to drawing

  • 1:14 I expect lasers to shoot out his eyes with that intensity. CALM DOWN MILT, YOU ARE DRAWING A RABBIT

  • What in the hell is 6:40 from?

  • That would be from "101 Dalmatians".

  • @bearcitybearbearcity pecos bill

  • I was quite surprised to hear Kahl say that he didn't really care to draw much outside of animating. I would think that someone who produced work like that positively lived to draw!

  • Jeez, why doesn't Disney show stuff like this anymore??

  • @BRAINofD00M Seeing stuff like this on the Disney Channel made me want to be an animator, and now I'm in school for it. It's really too bad they've phased it out.

  • quote from Milt Kahl, "Set your goals high and work at it."

  • Geraldine Page did a great performance in Woody Allen's Interiors.

  • Madame Medusa is one of my favourite animated villains!

The way she moves and acts: absoulte perfection!

    Respect for this great artist!

  • wow my last name is kahl i wonder if im related!!

  • The ending montage reminds me why I love Disney so much.

    <3

  • It reminds me too of how much I love Disney too! Milt Kahl was a very amazing animator and one of the best 9 Old Men! ANIMATION ROCKS!

  • somebody somewhere has footage of milt kahl drawing a rabbit and medusa from scratch.

it makes me sad to say, that person is not me :(

  • Milt Kahl and Marc Davis were the dominate two,

    besides Frank and Ollie

  • I AGREE!

  • The master.

  • His work on Shere Khan is some of the best animation put on screen. Fantastic footage. I should watch "The Rescuers" again. I haven't seen it in ages.

  • Thanks, does any one have more footage of Milt at CalArts?

  • thank you.

  • Thanks for that rare footage of a truly legend in animation.
