It is an early 90s Ibanez Talman custom, one of two owned by Tom, and the lesser known of the two with the other being finished as the Kenyan Flag. It is cream colored, with a tortoise shell pick guard and gold hardware. The neck is rosewood with 22 frets and features a Russian Hammer and Sickle with golden feathers emblem at the 12th fret inlay. The pickups are minibuckers and are controlled by a Gibson-style three way selector.
@labbern Pt. II The bridge is an Ibanez Edge, Floyd Rose licensed locking tremolo. The controls are two volume and one tone, as opposed to the more common one volume two tone. There is a metal plate on the front of the guitar by the knobs, which when touched creates an electrical buzzing sound. Tom then manipulates this with the Wah pedal, as seen during the solo. This would later evolve into Tom using the input jack on the bridge for the same effect. :^)
@castorhero Tom doesn't tend to designate a particular peice of work to one song, people always say "omg bullson parade solo!!!1" but he uses scratching at some point in a *shitload* of songs. also, he said himself that he never thought the main riff to original fire would be used in a song like the one it was. he wrote it back in the lock up days.
I can't see the highness of any talented guitar player anymore. This is just Morello's fault. I think i have Morello-addict :)
