  • Man, I really love the two vids about Marshall an I believe that they are a no-nonsense contribution to general industrial history too. But - in the first vid, how do folks survive that loud, crappy music that is playing all over the place? Very strange, indeed.

  • Very interesting tour - pity Guitar World couldn't afford a half-way decent cameraman and sound recordist!! Pretty awful production, not to mention post production!

  • Just out of the blue - there exists such thing as color correction in video editing process. But first you have to ask from cameraman, has he heard something about white balance? :)

  • 1# Marshall

    2# Mesabogie

    3# 5150

  • 00:04 Marshall JCM 900. :)

  • Marshall sponsor athletics too. When I was about 9 years old, over 30 years ago, I went to a music show and saw Jim Marshall surround by his amps. He was talking to loads of adults about stuff I didn't understand. None the less, he took time to show me his amps and explain who he was. I always vowed I would own one one day. I buy a new high end marshall every ten years, and never sell them on. JCM 800, 900, SLP, JTM....amazing amps. But you know this already!

  • Marshall JVM 410h = Best amp I've ever played!

  • My god he's a fat annoying prick! "Mr Marshall" He's your dad u knob, just say "my farther". Go eat a cookie n shut the fuck up!

  • Awesome. I would like to be there too someday. I only trust in Marshalls.

  • I'm not a Marshall user I'm a Hughes & kettner user, but, I'am a Marshall fan and have a great respect for it's historical legacy to music but my question is this in an age where we have had computer businessmen and newsreaders knighted by the queen for services rendered why oh why do we not have a sir James Marshall yet ??? Come on queenie sort it out love !!

  • Hands down the best amps on earth.

  • A True English success story,8000 units a month every month every year rocking the world. Congratulations Marshall Milton Keynes England........over the road from B and Q

  • shite company

  • so his son is running the buisness, it stays in the family

  • Dear Paul Marshall God bless your father and your family for all your wonderful contributions to Rock Amplification. You have always been so helpful and courteous to our band and your friendly support means the world to us! We love you and long live Marshall amps!

  • "handle with care" *bump*

  • I would love to take marshall up on that offer of coming in and getting amps fixed as I ordered a JVM410hcf from them, got it today, 30 seconds into playing it and it blew up, and probs wont see it now for at least a week or 2 :( :( :( But sadly, i live nowhere near the factory as i live in Scotland lol

  • white balance, yeah!

  • Check the ladies at 11:18... chilled, having a chat while putting in components for a Marshall DSL, nothing going on here lol

  • after all that, im gunna go and shop at B&Q lol

  • ugh, got to get a marshall. they rule !

  • This is like: "Oh my god, everybody knows Marhsall, so it's the best thing in the world!!" similar to "Oh GOD Travis Barker is so famous, he is the best drummer in the World"... furthermore, sound is so not objektive.. it's the most subjective thing in human kind.

Though I "liked" this Video, cause it's INTERESTING!

  • @Independentschlueder sound is not the most subjective thing in human nature, it may be ONE of the most, don't forget about other sensorial stimulae such as visual, tactile and so forth.

  • I cant believe 10 people dislike, Marshall is the very best amps known to mankind

simply kick ass awsome quality build amps, nothing else out there beats Marshall

  • @scorpion65100 you are wrong, many amps beat marshall

  • @sabbath994 it depends on personal preference and musical style

  • In the Rose-Morris years (1965-80) there were these arbitrary model #s often mistaken for years (viz. 1959, 1987, et al).

  • Has anyone else imagined a square 16x12 Cabinet besides me? O.o

  • @ILoveallguitars ME!!!

  • i wanna have the same amps as hendrix did....

  • now, i get the idea why the extraordinary amps are expensive. I'm willing to spend the money on those amps!

  • i think its funny how at the start of the video they sowed photos of artist who apparently use marshall amps..funny thing was most of them never used marshalls LOL. satriani uses PEAVY, brian may uses VOX, eric clapton uses SOLO or FENDER, and so fourth....

  • @mammo8369 Thats right ! even the starting video guitar sound is from a VOX ac 30 !! : ))

  • @motorrebell lol true true....the person who put this vid together doesnt know his company history very well LOL

  • @mammo8369 Satch uses Marshall for his solo band.

  • @mammo8369 lol i know townsend used highwatt for most of his career i think i even read or saw an interview with pete townsend where he said he didn't like the marshall sound in more or less words. not that i have anything against marshall i have 1 myself

  • he owns the fucking building, why is he trying to film through the window like a visitor.

  • Ear defenders U gotta Love the Brits!!!

  • lol his whistle when he says the letter s XD

  • Metali delmek için HSS zımbaaa

  • Why so many machines to do jobs that people can do ? I'm a Luddite, smash all the machines and get the world back to work. Oh maybe not because profits come before people.

  • Marshall sucks.

  • @jagjaghuh whattya rekons better?

  • @CleanAndDistorted Something versitile.. Line 6's tube amplifiers is the only way to go nowadays. Vetta for the win..

  • No, that's the best factory doc i've seen so far. Very detailed and shows the care and quality. Good to see they are still made in the UK too.

  • Great video production, honest and straight up, you can hear the pride. Not rehearsed fake marketing hype. Nice video, very interesting.

  • they should do a reissue of the no 1 amp

  • @xGrinder07x course XD

  • TSL eurgghhh NASTY

  • @dickydom9

I have a modded tsl = it is fucking amazing

  • typical southerner ;)

  • shittest video production ever

  • 9:25 Oh! It is funny because I build things yu bay and yu dont know I build them!!! Oh...

  • They Have Nicko Mcbrain (Iron Maiden) Some Where in time Drum Kit there also Nicko gave it to Jim Marshall you can see it briefly at the end of the video.

  • I also love my Marshall TSL 100! Marshall is the best!

  • Love my Marshall TSL100 - Mike (Reese's dad)

  • he must be loaded...

  • wow..awesome..go marshall..

  • Haha EL34 00:06

  • I just got my first Marshall amp a couple weeks ago and its the 85th anniversary limited edition combo and I love it!! thanks marshall!!

  • I am so fucking sick of these advertisements about the politicians!!!!!!!!

  • I wish Marshall would come up with a stronger tolex...

  • why pick such a terrible guitar tone to open this video?

  • at 11:16 shes say to the other gal hey did hendrix have a circuit board?

I have a G50R CD combo that needs help it fell over with the guitar plugged in and the input jack pushed inside and the circuit board cracked in half? wtf

I looked inside it has a thin tan board like tv set.

I removed the board and point to point hand wired it with solder along with crazy glue to hold it. amps should be built to take a pounding

  • Marshall are amazing <3 i had a tour it is so much better in real life !! <3

  • i bought a 100w marshall amp a few years ago. rattled like fuck. sent back, replacement had a buzzing cooling fan and the handle was loose. sent back. 3rd fucking amp was just a terrible state.. totally fucked. looked like it fell of the lorry!! fucking rubbish. i will never touch any marshall. cunts

  • Think I will buy a mid level half stack one day. Just like the look of them with the logo and style.

I'm a new player so have little experience with all the amps and effects. I'm trying to learn as much as I can for future upgrades.

I'm currently using a Peavey Vypyr 30 solid state which I love. A ton of effects for $200 and very loud. I can only keep it at 1, lol.

  • @mjfan123085 IMO the only way to go is tube. Nothing really sounds like a tube, and it makes the best distortion ever.

  • @mjfan123085 Does your username stand for Micheal Jackson?

  • @bchewdown no michael jordan.

  • @mjfan123085 right on...love the Team Elites..

  • Why all these people dont wear work overalls ?

  • @rockdaddio they probably give you a 15 watt am for a sample O.o

  • @bbshooter1221 they robly give u a battery mini 2 watts amp

  • even if i was just the maintenance man, thats still the coolest place to work in the world.

  • 3 year warranty in the UK? for my halfstack i for 5 years.... lol

  • bless my ignorance i always thought that marshall were an american brand now i know 3 good english brand of amps orange vox and marshall

  • @LittleBuddah118 Laneys also english so there's a fourth good english brand of amp.

  • @LittleBuddah118 And HiWatt and Matamp and Carlsbro and Selmer and Sound City.

  • @BPL1980 DUDE IVE NEVER HEARD OF THEM (sorry 4 caps)

  • @BPL1980 Let's not forget Orange...

  • Marshall + Gibson = Ear Orgasm

  • @RoCkErX285 it's called an eargasm. :D

  • @RoCkErX285 i think carlsbro are english too i might be wrong though

  • I can't wait until i get my first marshall....

  • A cup of coffee? What about "a spot of tea"?

  • Lame Sprite RAP commercial followed by something REAL musicians want to see.... Figure it the fuck out YouTube

  • haha ya like they give you a little 15 watt practice amp as a sample thatd be pretty dope

  • @tellyurfriends if you book an appointment they'll show you round and you can try all of the amps they have on show apart from some! So good!

  • you try wiring those sods haha

  • soda bath? LOL

  • @TheShredRex solder

  • When you hear a guitarist play through a Marshall you just know they are playing through a quality amp. You can go custom, you can think outside he box, but there is a reason why the best guitarists in the world use Marshall.

  • Beats the fuck out of Mesa's factory

  • I´ve got a 2266C and it ROCKS!!! :D Check it out if you want a 50w combo amp :)

  • thank you guys @marshall amps for making the greatest amps on the planet

  • Awesome to see how each amp is finished by humans, and tested. A quality operation! Marshalls rock!

  • Everytime he says solder I hear Soda :)

  • Yeah go marshall the greatest thing ever to be made in england

  • @hondansx1000 cool, didn't know marshall were made in England.

    WAY TO GO BRITISH CROWD

  • @pnskbk yeah its gr8 Orange amps are also from england

  • @hondansx1000 well that and sweets

  • @hondansx1000 the beatles ?

  • @sa18hr tbh i'm not really a beatles fan but cuz they had such an impact on the music scene i guess u could say so.

  • Nobody seemed very happy to work there, there was no chat or laughter. I bet they are driven like slaves for a meagre wage.

  • What u think when the boss shows up ^^

  • You are allowed to chat at work.... i make sure my guys are happy, if they aint there are problems.

  • Not a fa I'm affraid. I bought a TSL stack a few years ago. Biggest waste of money. The modern cheap small modelling amps are actually extremely good these days.

  • the only reason you find that a waste is because the tsl series is total shit

    only good marshalls:

    Jcm 800 2204

    Vintage modern

    JMP plexi

    Silver jubilee

  • I totally agree, the tsl series do not have the balls that marshall is/was known for. It is nice to see they are building more of the classic amps by hand, returning to their roots and building them like the used to!

  • @chrismortloch92 the DSL series is actually pretty good. i have one and it sounds amazing. however i have played a tsl.. and yea idk. major difference between the 2 apart from the extra gain stage on the tsl

  • @chrismortloch92 true that. the tsl series is worthless. but what about the mkII plexi?

  • I tried a plexi that a guy had modded for master volume and a gain stage and it sounded like absolute garbage but I Imagine an all stock one would sound great

  • @chrismortloch92 yeah youre ears dont decieve you. modded plexis sound crappy. if you have a plexi, the only thing you should use with it is a powerbrake or hotplate. ive never even played one, but ive heard it from so, so many people. Page, Hendrix, Beck, Zappa, etc. and im saving up for it.

  • Id advise you check out the jcm 800 2004. same rock feel but a little more manageable due to the master volume

  • @chrismortloch92 really? i always thought the jcms were hi-gain super chunk hard rock amps. i need more original marshall smooth crunch. (i.e. Jimmy Page - How The West Was Won - 1972)

  • the jcm 800 is so basic, just a master and preamp volume

if you set the preamp volume anywhere between 7 and 10 your good to go for smooth marshall tone

    BUT

theres a capacitor in the jcm 800 that brightens the signal and that HAS to come out.

the 800 is painfully shrill unless you take out the bright capacitor, its the most common mod ive ever heard for a marshall. then you get warm smooth rock n roll tone

try them out and see whats best for you though, thats just my opinion

  • @chrismortloch92 ohhhh so thats why everybody's been saying the jcm800s really good. its that capacitor...hmm. okay well i will definitely look into that. thanks so much for the help man!

  • Try the plexi 1987 MKll reissue, I been using it for a while and sound great, may be the guy who made the modded fuck up...

  • thats the head he had, but the gain stage he added made the first 2 inputs unuseable and it made the clean dark and muddy because of the extra gain, it was quite terrible

I would have taken it had it been stock

  • @chrismortloch92 DSL50 as well.

  • @chrismortloch92 the JVM's are fucking awesome as well dude! :D

  • ...and those of us who use Marshall amps are proud to do so. There's just something about a Marshall that no other amp can emulate. Marshall is the standard. I remember so many of the ads of amps when the hybrid stuff started getting marketed always said: "Sounds just like a Marshall". BULL! Spend the money on the real thing. It's so worth it.

  • his accent is fuckin annoyin

  • sorry mr Marshall but this video is tragically boring. i think you must choose a better quality video, colir vivid filte, more change of camera view for attracted the viewer. ,

  • Capitalism is boring. Start the line at 8, stop it at 5. Do this until you retire and the next blokes take over the line.

  • if i was the last person left on earth i would go to 19:19 first

  • marshall's the best

    -cheers from the USA

  • At 22:05 I see a Vox amp...Interesting

  • lol i like that license plate.. on the car EL34

  • Mine would have

    MESA 6L6

  • heh, I see it's a tube.

Paid a pretty penny no doubt for that plate; the founder of Virtuality PLC bought a plate with a single W after his IPO IIRC.

  • Bugeras got nothing on these boys!!

  • 19:08 is that amp heaven? now you know when you buy a marshall you get the best!

  • So big history from this legendary brand !Incredible.

Cheers that they still make it in England. !

  • i didnt know marshall amps were english!

kik ass another point to england

  • me neither.... that would explain why they are expensive.... because they have to ship em to the US.. probably by boat or SUPER-ish load plane

  • Oh..... oh my G-d you must be American.

  • no......im english....

  • I bought a t-shirt at reception and the lady threw in a marshal canvas bag, posters pins and catalogs in for free. Unreal. I am a Marshal customer for life now.

  • I am visiting England and I called Marshal up and asked for a tour. I got a private tour today and it was awesome. I got to try a bunch of amps in the rehearsal hall as well (The JVM rocked!). Apparently they do this a few times a week. If you are in England I highly recommend going by the factory. The people their could not be friendlier. This is customer service to the extreme when they will give an average Joe a tour like I got. see next post

  • how much does it cost ?

  • Best price you could get - FREE!

  • wow i had know idea it was such a production line to make guitar amps , absolutely amazing!!

  • haha middlesex

  • love the avts! Its a great all round amp! :>

  • wonder if they give free samples when you visit?

  • hahaha!! That would be bad ass

  • well im from the us, if they did i would be getting plane tickets :)

  • @rockdaddio

    if you called SLASH YES

  • @rockdaddio they give you a key chain :)

  • @rockdaddio Yeah, but you'd have to send 'em back a week later to get fixed!

  • what do you people think about the Traynor models?

  • kjn

  • If my mom was one of the girls that worked there I could probably get a deal :S

  • wow you are really lucky lol

  • i just bought a 1982 JCM 800 100watt model 2210 and a jcm800 slant cab for a total of $1000!!! and yes guys, the tone is amazing..the guy had the output setting at 8 ohms and din't know you had to turn it to 16 ohms to get the full sound! when he saw us switching over to 16 and realized he's been playing it on 8 for 26 years, he looked sick!!! i think he lowballed it cause he thought it was broken! oh well, his loss is my gain!!

  • oh good god i had to laugh HARD when i first read this :D

  • What's the mod where you take an old jmp or other non-master amp and put a master on it?? I get that this is basically a jcm 800 but when i played one it still wouldnt overdrive until both the master and preamp were cranked.....I have played a modded jmp though, and its master volume mod works fine...low master, overdriven preamp.

  • jubilees are my favorite but in second would be the jcm 800 2203

  • Reissue the old JMP's !!!!!!!!!!!

  • avt amps aren't bad, but they're not to be compared to a real all tube marshall. i have an avt50 and a jvm410h. there is a night and day difference, but its not really fair talk smack about the avt series because they are good but they're not the best.

  • i just bought the new Marshall MG50fx :D i love it so much!... GOOD BYE 15 WATT STARTER AMP HELLO 50WATT DEATHBOX!!

  • MG's kinda suck man. Their cheap.

  • yeah i found out after a week of playing it, it was complete piss for what i wanted it for so i got a line 6 spider 3 instead. the tone is so much better... oh well i wont be taking this one back kus i actually like it alot

  • Spider 3's kinda suck man. You should get a Marshall JCM series.

  • yeah ok

  • well, its the truth man. No offense but, someone who thinks that a spider 3 has a good tone doesn't know about tones. Its a noobie amp.

  • well maybe so but did you take consideration about my playing standards or even financial standards? sure i saw the jcm in the shop but i dont have that kind of cash. im only a bedroom player and this things fine for me

  • well if you ever needed it, it would be right there instead of having to buy one later

  • nah am fine for a few years, its not like im in a band or anything

  • whats your skill level?

  • not very good i guess, been self taught for 9 years or somthing and am thinking of taking lessons or somthing.

  • JCM are some of the best series Marshall ever made, back in the 80's.The 800 series, specified to match Michael Schenker's tone.

    Cheers.

  • JCM2000s are my favorites

  • at least its better than a Line6, well ive played a few tubes marshalls, JCM2000, JVM. MG's tone alone does sound bad but if you adjust every knob on the amp and the guitar you might be able to get decent tone. i have the MG30w DFX, its good for punk/rock. but im maybe gonna get tube marshall soon.
