i had a owl but it was a eastern screech owl but we don't have him any more!!!! I love him soooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was gray, black and white!!!!!!!!!!
These guys are very cool, but as to the comment about the Raptor Edu Foundation, they do not rehab birds! They are simply an educational facility. I have seen no where stating that they send any funds to rehab centers. (Example-they're taking a rehab center to court right now for using funds from their license plate.) I understand it was their plate, but if rehab centers weren't around, REF wouldn't be either and they don't seem to understand that....
REF is not a rehab facility which it discloses on its web site. We are suing a rehab center for violation of our federal copyrights when they stole our license plate proceeds, our design and slogan. This is all plainly disclosed on our web site. We understand the relationship of rehabbers to our mission. What we don't understand is the theft of our property. Maybe that's okay with you. It isn't with us.
Beautiful birds....Thank God for places like the Raptor Edu Foundation! Bravo! keep the videos coming its a great educational tool for those who don't understand how smart all birds are!
Haha the way they stare and blink is really amusing, I love owls, though sadly I've never gotten the chance to see any personally, let alone get close.
I live in England and we have a few owl sanctuaries with beautiful collections of endangered owls. It's a bit sad that they're not in the wild but they are protected, comfortable and healthy at the sanctuaries. You could find out if there are any local to you and go - better than not seeing any at all.

I love how when they look at you, they give you a stare down like make a move mutha fu**er! lol. They are bad ass for sure. I am going to look into getting one
United States fish & wildlife laws do not permit unlicensed individuals taking or keeping raptors and wildlife in general. This is for their safety and yours. Enjoy them through binoculars or resources like the Raptor Education Foundation.
I only know of one person who has an owl license, and she brings the owl to the clinic she works at each day for educational purposes. She has to deal with stinky owl pellets, crap all over the floor, the owl hiding its unfinished food (she only notices it when it starts to rot and smell bad), hooting all night about 9 months of the year (human-imprinted owls expect humans to hoot back at them, not other owls). Looks like a pain in the rear to me.
They are beautiful and fluffy. Where was this taken? They must really trust you and you must provide a wonderful home for them if they continue to come back time and time again. How wonderful.
This is from a nest at our facility location in Aurora, CO. You can see this year's family in the Owl Chronicles, which follows a nest much closer than the one from which these young owls came...in fact, one of these "babies" maybe one of the adults breeding this year.
Incredible. I love owls. Easy to understand why there is so much mysticism about them. They look like aliens trying to communicate through blinking their eyes at you. blink blink...get away from us...blink blink we will be happy to bite you ...blink blink.
you have been honored with these babies, owls have amazing powers to see in the dark, their night vision is like no other animal or being, their hearing is just as equal. They come in your life to guide you in the dark they are believed to be guides from the other world in many cultures. Dont fear them thank them.
What a nice thing to say! I have burrowing owls in my backyard. They had a clutch of 6 babies last year and now it's nesting season again, so I'm waiting patiently. Won't be long now, they have started showing signs that they will soon be parents. Yea! I tell everyone how lucky and honored I am that they allow me to live near them. hehe.
This is amazing footage. I am in comparative psychology. It appears you are close to the offspring of these two birds. I wish this video were longer. But near the end you can see the owl on the left getting into attack mode. And these owls are completely capable of doing severe damage to humans. Great video!
Wow!! It was kinda scary when they were staring at the camera! And also I know that owls can fly silently- one cannot even hear how they fly- it's amazing!
I love owls! At first I thought there were three of them. Although I don't have audio, which made me focus on the visual aspects, I could tell they were sleepy. Their eyelids seemed to close more often than normal. Good video!
hehehe "We are NOT amused." :p

Those owls really need to talk over their game plan. The one on the left is fluffing up all huge and the one on the right wants to be skinny. D:

Well, i will become a licensed individual then.. plus binoculars suck. Would much rather be up close and personal..
konaboy420 3 years ago
well create an owl friendly environment on your property, that way they can live free and you can be near them.
