Xenosaga 2 is a load of WTF, and 3 is even more so. The gameplay and story seem to shift into something completly different, and VERY MUCH unwanted. Some may like it, yes, but many of those have not played Xenogears.

Xenosaga 3 was only moderately good because they pretty much decided to do whatever epic stuff they could. Course, the only way they could make thing difficult was to give Boss's a shit ton of HP.... there are other ways to make bosses harder.... That was my main complaint.

That's disappointing to hear, because I was thinking about playing those recently being such a huge Xenogears fan. The first game really disappointed me, so I passed on the rest.

Well, now I beat the gargoyle guy, I'm on the next stage, and I want to get the environmental simulators so I can train and find the swimsuit before I lose my chance to get it.

Just thought I'd mention, Xenosaga II isn't as bad you've probably heard. The music is easily the worst in the... company, honestly, character designs are a downgrade, and ES combat blows chunks. The main battle system is workable once you learn how to build a good party though.

Most importantly, the plot focuses on Jr. and MOMO more than Shion and KOS-MOS, and despite them not being as original as main characters, I enjoyed their plot points more.

I liked the ending for Xenosaga 2 theme but U gotta play the others, especially 3

The boss you were probably stuck on was a trick boss at the end of the KOS-MOS encephalon. I remember not really getting the trick, and just killing off Shion intentionally to make the boss tone down it's damage.

Incidentally, yes, Xenosaga 2 is ... bad. But you have to play it because the story of the series is awesome. Sorry about that. No amount of knowledge can mitigate the incredible length of the battles. Enjoy!

Amazing soundtrack is probably the only reason I'm playing Xenosaga at all. It was the same with Chrono Cross in my case.
