@nathanas07 Hmm, I can't remember now--I think it was in that giant Namco arcade with the "Gyoza Stadium" inside. I was just in Hong Kong and they had this setup there too. (Some Namco arcade in Causeway Bay)
Probably waaaaaay to much. The game actually kind of sucks. You'd have more fun with Armored Core or Chromehounds on the 360. Or the upcoming 360 Gundam game which seems to be in a state of perpetual delay. I saw it at TGS 2006 I think and it looked great...wonder where it is.
Just came from Japan and played one of the Gundam Pods. Pretty crazy. I had to buy a card for 500 yen or 5 usd and another 300 yen to play the game itself. The card is like those intial d cars where it holds your account. So if you play more, you get money and can buy more things for your gundam like guns and armor. Its like you're in a real gundam.
I was at Namco Land in Osaka this summer, and spent a small fortune on the MSG pods. Still got my Pilot Card in my wallet as well. Earned myself a rocket launcher and Corporal's stripes when I slipped out of the hotel at 1am for another game downtown. Best country ever...
The thing about these card games is the cards seem to expire after 5 days or so--I'm pretty sure that's the case with Gundam. I know it's the case with Druaga and Quest of D. What a rip!
The Gundam card is quality though--really thick and looks cool. But they keep you buying $5 cards every week!
Pilot cards for this game are good for 100 uses before they wear off. After that, you'll need to pay 300 yen for a fresh card on the Pilot Terminal. All of your pilot info and obtained mobile suits will be transferred to the new card.
Where in Osaka was this? I played in Tokyo over golden week and now I'm hooked.

The cost is the other way around. lol
As you play more, you'll unlock other mobile suits and upgrades. You will face challenging players as your rank progresses.

man now i really wanna play this game. Do they have this machine in USA?
tomxue 3 years ago
I've never heard of it in the US--the game wasn't very good IMHO. You can play much better mech games on consoles. The cockpit was neat though!
