  • chudder likey dog leg. too bad a track like that does not exist today.

  • This track or one like it should still exist, that fact that none do is a sacrilege. An oval with a right turn, what part of that isn't brilliant?

  • Paul Page has some nice hair...wonder where he bought it from

  • @fueldragster Some carpet store I guess.

  • Note the red-and-blue "N" logo.

Within a few months, it would be superseded by an updated NBC peacock superimposed over the outline of the "N".

  • This was the last Indy Race at Trenton.Wally Dallenbach,Sr.won it.

  • @vince065us CART records say Rick Mears was the winner.

  • @vince065us

CART records say Rick Mears was the winner.

  • what a cool track

  • First of all, nice suit Paul! Second, I never knew Gary didn't have white hair. I guess I'm too young.

  • that dogleg is sick!!!!!!!!

  • who won?

  • Joe Saldana, father of Joey Saldana the sprint car driver?

  • @kso374 Yes, the 1970 Knoxville Nationals Champion Joe Saldana

  • Jay Lawrence is an idiot.

  • I've lived in Trenton for 24 years and NEVER knew about this track. It was turned into "Grounds for Sculpture" giving a nod to the former State Fairgrounds. I wish I was alive to have gone to one of these and see it in person.

  • Wow. An Indy Car race with American drivers! We'll never see that again.

  • I'll bet you'll see it again in march 2010...

  • That's a cool track...

  • Very 70's! Complete with bumper music from Chicago and that classic 70's hair on Page, Gerould, and Lawrence. Too bad that track closed. Cool configuration.

But talk about low car count! 16 starters and one guy in the pits a maybe.

  • Very Interesting!

I didn't know that the race was washed out twice, also didn't know Al Unser started with the Lola.

This race was the begining of a long relationship Between PPG and CART, with the PPG brand of Ditzler as the race sponsor. "1979 Ditzler 150"

Later PPG would announce they would be the title sponsor of 1980 CART season.

  • Both Paul Page & Gary Gerould are still working together at ESPN doing the NHRA.

  • awesome !!!

  • Wow! Paul Page had hair!

  • Yeah, and you can't even tell it's a wig either. (sorry, I couldn't resist that one)
