The technology makes car owners like me look dumb. Can't find the key hole? wonder where the key goes because we never use it, Or desperately find video on you tube to solve the smart key prob.? lol. bottom line is I found really good resources here though.
It is not usefull to totally dismount the electronic circuit from the plastic box. Only put the plastic box in contact with the ring of the start button and as a conventional key the electronic unlock code will allow to start. This procedure is described in user manual which is long and in the short one too ;)
lol, thier is no code its much more basic then that , its a sensor conected to the stick shift when car taken out of park it dissables dvd all you need to do is remove all the plastic cowling around the shifter and find the lead for the dvd
As another poster has said, you still need the key fob to start the car.
Suppose you have a fob whose battery dies. Instead of being left stranded somewhere because of that, you can still start the car and get to where you need to go using the passive transponder in the fob.
You still need the fob to start the car because you have to put the fob where the information center on the car's instrument cluster tells you to put it so the car can detect the transponder and allow the car to start.
Ok, what will happen if you forget the car running, and the smart key where not inside it and someone came and stole it? What the car going to do is it will keep running for 10 or 20KM or it will shut itself down to protect itself.

yeah you could drive the car until it just runs out of gas. the car just beeps when there's no key detected when the car is started and you close the door.
@alwafealwafe once the car starts up it will never shut down unless you press the button to shut down. if that key isnt in the car and the car is start up it will still run until you power the car down and it will not on again unless you have the key.

hey there is a key that pops out where do you stick it? saying if your door is locked... i don't see any key holes lol

there is a latch next to the door handle u need to flick it up and there is a key hole

@trousien right by the gear shift and the button on your door handle unlocks the door without using the key fob

The battery is for the remote functions only. The Rfid chip is powered by a ring in the column.

Stupid becuse when you move the care it will shut itselfe down because the computer will not find the key inside the car!!!!
Except you stick the smart key near the start button.

WRONG!! The car will NEVER shut down if the smart key is not present... I drove more than 100KM without the key in my car!!
