already 4 month on the road, and these bands seem to get better the more often they play their stuff. and I don't remember Gillan having such a strong voice on any other 80s recording! amazing.
I was at this show at tha tender age of 13. It was a life changing event for me. What a fantanstic show, that I still consider the best concert I have ever seen
I thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you!!! Fantastic! I wish they would release a pro-shot concert from the 1987 tour. I think Gillan's voice was in better shape than in 1984/85, and the performances was much more powerful.
Gillan was not awful here...get your ears checked. I bet it's the usual jab from some hardcore Blackmore fanatic. Gillan's voice was damn good here. His voice suffered a lot during the mid 80's, but not on this concert. I have the whole thing on audio, and it's a pleasure to listen to.
Could you please upload 'The Unwritten Law' as well? I think Ian Paice's drumsolo in that song rocked. Too bad it only lasted for the 1987 leg of the 'HOBL' Tour.
OMG!!!! Gillan was bloody awful here.Purple were poor a lot of the time during the 80s mainly because Gillan couldnt hit the notes he did in the 70s but still tried to and Blackers couldnt be bothered playing at all but then Purple playing poorly by their standards is still a lot better than most bands
Gillan was ok I guess by the standards at the time, as his voice was raspy and sometimes failed, due to being troubled with troatinfections in the years after he had that troat surgery in the early 80's. Also, Gillan was much better in 1984/85, and in 1993/94/95 than here. Blackmore was bored of the reunion, after the 'Perfect Strangers' Tour. You can easily tell by his "I'm bored on stage" playing, and is sadly putting little effort into his talent here.
a completely ignored super hit

Yep, great band. It's a shame Ritchie Blackmore and Ian Gillian grew to argue and despise eachother.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Dio is a much better band. Deep Purple has weak lyrics and their sound is not very memorable.

Great song, great album! Gillan was great here by the standards, that his voice was suffering a lot during the mid 80's, due to troath surgery.
