  • The darker haired girl was in the episode of of the brady Bunch where Jan wanted a new image and bought the dark wig and wore it to the girls party and she was laughed at.

  • omy tne barbie was even better the ones now i like old commercials

  • My mom bought this doll when she was a kid in 1967 and stored it in perfect condiction in her drawer so that she could have it for the rest of her life but her little sister got her hands on it and destroyed it. She cut the hair, she drew on it, she broke it. When my mom found out she just the doll in the trash.

  • This doll came out when I was in 5th grade. I had an older Barbie with bubble-cut hair, molded eyelashes and unbendable legs. My mother forbade me from trading it in for the new model AND she wouldn't allow me to buy one or even ask for it as a gift. When playing with "friends", they pretended my doll was a mother of one of theirs so when their dolls went to a party, my doll had to stay home and wait for them. The girls shut me out because my doll was uncool. I still remember how that hurt.

  • I feel very sorry for you. They should have let you play. I'm sorry.

  • @SinginPlayinWritinMe - that sucks! Kids are cruel.

  • this was my first Barbie and I still have her more than 40 years later.

  • I wonder how many little girls traded in their dolls and are now kicking themselves for doing so b/c the trade ins are worth thousands of dollard today.

  • I also collect these old Barbies. They were made WAY before I was born but they are much cooler than the ones they make now. At least the clothes the dolls wore were clothes you could actually see a woman wearing. Now the dolls all wear hot pink ruffles and heels.

  • i have an old barbie...its cool!

  • Does barbie have any pants on?

  • Awesome! I like old commercials. No hard selling.

  • I really like this ad a lot more than the modern ads. It's not because of the graphics or features. The message, that she can be whatever you want her to be and playing pretend, is something that's lost in modern advertising. So many people (kids and adults) think that they have to dress like Barbie or that the realm of Barbie is real (such as making a modeling lifestyle out to be an ideal). In the end, you control her, she doesn't control you.

  • way better than "be who you wanna be B-A-R-B-I-E"!!

  • they look so different and old

  • barbies were so cool back then

  • wow, this is when my mom was born!

  • She's one of my favs. I don't think I'd trade her in for my Ponytail if I lived then, I'd just wait intill she came to the stores. (See, Mattel had a trade in program. If you gave up you old Barbie, you could get the new one for $1.50.)

  • I collect vintage Barbies and my first Barbie was an ash blonde twist n' turn. She is my favorite.

  • sempre adorei a barbie e até hoje gosto.
