I'm 20 years old, don't have a kid, I'm not even at the age where the vastness of society would accept me as a intelligent capable thinker because I have few years of experience as an adult. But even with what little I have it's easy to see that things are getting worse. Now more than ever people are removing god from everything. Sex, drugs, crime is the focus of the media. They say its wrong but they support it through movies and games and music.
Why is it that our generation is the worst yet? Crime rate, children who all around misbehave, everything is getting worse. Now more than ever people are afraid to physically discipline their kids. Giving a child a small whack on the butt isn't going to damage them, its teaching them that what they did was wrong.
Everyone says the bible is ancient but why is it the only book who's teachings have withstood the test of time. Science is further validating it more every day.
If one of my children acts in a negative way and removal of the above does not change their action , then i simply reward the other children with privileges the disobedient child would not normally have if he/she had behaved.
Swear at your mum. I take your xbox. You continue to swear. The other kids get ice cream. Phone credit. Access to movies etc past their normal cut of time.
Money for school lunches while the other child gets sandwiches.

Has anyone ever heard of a successful boot camp that was easy? The Bible does not advocate violently beating kids, but it does recommend firm punishment, so that they learn lessons, so they do not have to meet worse consequences later on, because they did not learn that lesson. Only people who had parents who spanked them should be able to say whether or not its good.

Worst thing I've ever done in church was fart. I was during a quiet moment of praryer. We had these HARD pews with no cushions (you know the type) and being a little kid about oh 8 or 9, I had to go. Rather than get up to do it, I waited. Little did I know the acoustics of the room would make that sound carry. So in the middle of the prayer, you heard a loud BRAAAAAPPPP! My parents looked at me horrified, but at least the pastor was giggling.

I can so relate! I was a pastors kid for 14 years and there is nothing worse than being called out from the pulpet! I remember getting a spanking all the way home from church one day! Good thing the parsonage was 2 houses down from the church!
So this is the "guy" (I use the term loosely, since there are apparently no testicles in his pants) who is ruining the Laugh USA channel on XM radio. Nothing like trying to enjoy some good clean classic comedy and then having this guy come on there with lines like "now go live for Jesus, because he died for us". If I wanted to hear a sermon, I could tune into any of the gazillion Christian TV and radio channels out there. Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison did the best comedy about Christianity, BTW.
Only to the narrow-minded. I'm Christian, love this kind of comedy, and still enjoy the likes of Jeff Dunham and other secular comedians. Don't down it without trying other Christian comedians.

After Jesus came to earth and died on the cross for our sins. He redeemed us and took those punishments for being sinners. the things that happened in the old testament are amazingly brutal and intense. The things that were done to punish disobedience to God would be considered outrageous now. But because of Jesus we are reconciled. I'm not sure what all of the bible you have read..but if thats all you know..then your missing the real message and thats the message of deliverance and reconciliation through Jesus Christ.
he's got some good stuff but from watching through his vids he seems to stutter a lot (not necessarily a bad thing) but he also doesn't seem very prepared. I know that could just be stage fright and all, but it's something he needs to work on.
But I like his stuff and I know it's hard to find good clean comedy. I love the deaf part. :P

I am 31. I have 3 step children aged 6 , 12 and 14. My own daughter is 11 months old.
I grew up with physical discipline in my own home.
The only lessons i learned when my father " disciplined " me was that following.
1: Those with the greater use of force can do what they want
2: Those weaker will be forced by those stronger to do what the strong want.
3: IF i do not want to be a victim , i need to get stronger.
4: Being hurt does not invalidate my actions.

This is abhorrent. My children learn discipline by corrective reasoning and removal or refusal of what they want when they misbehave.
Examples:
Unacceptable behavior = I remove your access to your recreation tools , social interaction with others etc.

Worst thing I've ever done in church was fart. I was during a quiet moment of praryer. We had these HARD pews with no cushions (you know the type) and being a little kid about oh 8 or 9, I had to go. Rather than get up to do it, I waited. Little did I know the acoustics of the room would make that sound carry. So in the middle of the prayer, you heard a loud BRAAAAAPPPP! My parents looked at me horrified, but at least the pastor was giggling.

So this is the "guy" (I use the term loosely, since there are apparently no testicles in his pants) who is ruining the Laugh USA channel on XM radio. Nothing like trying to enjoy some good clean classic comedy and then having this guy come on there with lines like "now go live for Jesus, because he died for us". If I wanted to hear a sermon, I could tune into any of the gazillion Christian TV and radio channels out there. Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison did the best comedy about Christianity, BTW.

first of all all he said was he got a spanking. I guess depending on the person, that could be considered abuse. Secondly, the stonings that were done that i believe you are talking about were old testament punishments. Things that were mandated at that time in order to fufill law. After Jesus came to earth and died on the cross for our sins. He redeemed us and took those punishments for being sinners. Christ delivered us out of that so we wouldnt have to be stoned or beaten or killed.

the things that happened in the old testament are amazingly brutal and intense. The things that were done to punish disobedience to God would be considered outrageous now. But because of Jesus we are reconciled. I'm not sure what all of the bible you have read..but if thats all you know..then your missing the real message and thats the message of deliverance and reconciliation through Jesus Christ.

he's got some good stuff but from watching through his vids he seems to stutter a lot (not necessarily a bad thing) but he also doesn't seem very prepared. I know that could just be stage fright and all, but it's something he needs to work on.
But I like his stuff and I know it's hard to find good clean comedy. I love the deaf part. :P
