I defeated roark with my monferno only. it took 3 hits to kill his lvel 12 onix and geodude which gave me each a level up but it took 1 hit to kill his level 14 cranidos.

I was like when i was about to faint all my pokemon i used absorb to hope to get at least 2 hp and i used it i got epic hit like no critical its defense was +3 my attack was +1 o_O

@obearybear if you mean you want a flying type then is Staraptor good enough less defensive but more offensive just like crobat and honchkrow if u can get a honchkrow also togekiss is a beast but i wont learn it fly because its base attack is 50 and its base sp attk is 120 the only flying type of platinum comparable to skarmory is gliscor and he cant learn fly :(
