God I love Ian Moss. I remember reading somewhere about him saying he felt this album was rushed and he wasn't happy with the mix and shit like that. TBH, i think its absolutely spot on.That stratty tone, well mixed harmonisations, REAL drums(rare at the time, esp in more pop directed efforts) it's all just perfect. I never tire of this album.
Saw Mossy on fox with barnsey reminising about chisel etc. I always thought Moss was a bit of a hero tosser with Tuckers daughter etc...but listening to him on the show...he was really quiet and introverted and a really likeable bloke. Did always think his voice was out of this world though and such a great guitarist. Respect to the guy.
@kinraade sometimes i wish i was 16 again. I,ve played drums with a few aussie rock legends , however ,not with Mossy, mabye one day , you never know.
God, he is right in his element here. I've always thought of this one as being Ian Moss' best song. The nerves tingled to see the film clip performance too. Nice.
@LogicHead Completely agree. This song shows that the guitar isn't just an instrument to Mossy, it's an extension of his body. Met him about 12 years ago the day after a cold chisel show when he was checking out the sites down here in Tassy, absolute legend down to earth bloke. Made my year.
just bought this album on vinyl for 5 bucks :) can't go wrong

I think Mossy was never happy with Worlds Away (1992) rather than Matchbook.

Hi, want to hear some amazing singing from Australia? Check out John's chanel.
--soul / blues singer acoustic. His cover of Sam Cookes 'A Change Is Gona Come." ...Truly Great! He's also a big Ian Moss fan.

I don't mean to be pedantic, but the song recorded and released in 1989, that would make it 20 years. But Mossy, always had great music and lyrics.
