  • Terry is killing me with that look*-*

  • Dale and Missing Persons was one of my favorites. Their sound is still unique to this day. I never get tired of listening to their music.

  • damn she was beautiful and sexy

  • Its weird to hear Bozzio playing things humans play.

  • This was a club favorite back in the 80's without a doubt... a jumping song always got everyone in the place off their seat...

  • lady gaga is a copy cat flop

  • A classic- always loved these guys, and this video!

  • All star act.............. loved em then, love em even more now

  • Their best song. Awesome 80s Gold.

  • Dale just exudes sex. Some of the looks she gives, the expressions, her eyes, are just downright musical porno! Her smoking hot body is just an orgasm in a body stocking! Va-Va-Va-VOOM!

  • vevo blows but the upload is great

  • cabrillo beach 1985

  • Wow I forgot all about this great song, thanks for posting

  • great band...ah, the cocaine '80s...

  • EVERYONE IN THIS BAND WAS SUPER. FRANK ZAPPA WOULD AGREE.

    (HE DISCOVERED THEM)

  • @TheAdjacentFetus All Zappa alumni here. You almost can't lose with this crew.

  • @TheAdjacentFetus didn't terry bozzio play drums for zappa!?

  • I was 16 when these guys came on the charts in 1982 and it was called New wave music. A little mellower than punk. It lasted about 2-3 years and died , the impact and influence it had you can still see it today. But you still gotta love the original.

  • I can see there's already plenty of Lady GaGa comparisons, so I won't make another. lol

  • amazing band, epic zappa boys

  • @sebaswildboy with leather?

  • Lol. Sadly, I believe this vid predates MTV. This came out in 80. MTV wasn't until aug of '81. I actually remember their movie debut in Lunch Wagon. Dating myself.

  • @thanoson I remember Lunch Wagon. I'm becoming an old fart.

  • Missing Persons Wow! Dale Bozzio so cool..i loved her anti style meaning she wasnt this "pro" dancer" she just stood there and sung in her own way..as for the ga-ga similarities well i'd take Dale Bozzio anyday..Missing Persons as a band were so innovative and under the radar..this song kicks some serious butt 10/10 for MP

  • MTV went down the drain in the mid 80's when they starting playing crap... errr rap.. same thing. Remember when there was no MTV and you had to wait for Friday Night Videos? LOL

  • Dale Bozzio made by balls drop back in 1982.

  • Berlin with a sense of humor.

  • wow, now 30 second ads before videos? Vevo really sucks, in case y'all didn't know...on the other hand, Missing Persons is great!

  • i love this band one of my all time favorties!!! what was the lead singers name i for get?

  • @wintertimegirl Dale Bozzio

  • one of The best '80's bands and they still bring it!

  • I love Missing Persons!!! It's great American New Wave with both Synths and good guitar. New Wave Forever!!!

  • I just now I used to love to dance to this....I used up so many calories bouncing around to this....I love most songs for lyrics, this one is just fun! Remindsw me of easier times...college days...

  • I just now I used to love to dance to this....I used up so many calories bouncing around to this....I love most songs for lyrics, this one is just fun!

  • I think what some of the young nay-sayers dont understand, is that no time in history has the scumbag record companies ever put out so much garbage all at once.

Since the majority of music was OK to great, one didnt have to spend any time at all trying to find good artists. Today you have to wade through so much fake ass crap to find a few decent acts, its frustrating to us old farts.

And that why we give todays elevator muzak and copy cats a hard time.

  • The 'guitar part' is similar to a Joe Jackson song (Say you won't?)

  • this band is just so brilliant!

  • Being Blonde does not mean one is following Dale Bozio or Madonna, for that matter. Lady Gaga's music really is in a completely different vein than Missing Persons'. I like much of it, as I like much of Missing Persons', but it's like comparing apples and oranges. Get some musical training and you'll know what I'm talking about.

  • @juliepets2 ...............actually before ga ga was ga ga her then boyfriend producer.....gave her albums of missing persons..............and told her to study Dale Bozzio............and obviously it paid off

  • I heard "words" but I never realized how many good songs this band actually had. Very under-rated.

  • this song and words rock really hard

  • brings me back to a time when music was music. mtv was new and well now, its crap. they dont make stuff like this anymore.

  • Dale (the singer) IS TOTALLY TALENTED still

  • I can't stand that Lady CaCa thinks no one will remember these awesome bands and just rips off thier creativity and uses their styles as if they were her own!!!..I never hear her giving any credit to those whom she has copied! Her managers and publicists have to know she's nothing more than a rip off and a SCUM SCAM! I know these bands well like Kate Bush, Missing Persons and Grace Jones. Come up with something original or admit you're a FRAUD and a copycat making money off others hard work!

  • Lady CaCa should be licking Dale Bozzio's boots for even giving her something to copy and take credit for!!!...Missing Persons were and still are the ultimate in shock and creativity. And to think Miss CaCa can try and use Dale's creativity and orginality and call herself a trend setter and an original artist. Miss CaCa is only hoping no one remembers these bands and can act like they are her own original ideas........WE REMEMBER!!!....and shame on you Lady GaGa....you're so transparent!!

  • LOL At 2:07 creepy face in the background !!

  • Dale Bozzio is HOT!!!!!!!!!

  • How dare you compare Dale Bozzio to Gaga. What an insult to Dale.Fuck off

  • @MrBillybones999 agreed

  • wow, the drummer is a super homo

  • @eyeballsnot - not really, his name is terry bozzio, a he's a badass drummer..(and dale's husband)

  • @dogssMP youtube.com/watch?v=nTSBR7eHL_I

  • @eyeballsnot prob the best drummer alive

  • Gwen Stefani should admit at least once before she dies that she totally copied Dale's vocal stylings and thank her.

  • Dale Bozzio was the hottest and sexiest woman of her time!! I remember when she did the spread for Hustler magazine. Shit, I locked myself away in my room for a year and when I finally came out I had a shredded mag and one arm that looked like Popeye! Good times!!!

  • FUCKKKKKK!!!! Such a great video! Forgot all about it.

  • Remember when I heard this song back in the 80's in the movie with Dale Bozzio. Instantly liked it... Like it, now.

  • I hate VEVO thumbs up

  • is song is so kick ass sick!!! fuck yeah!!!!

  • I really need the fifty bucks you know

    I gotta get home!

  • love this band ahead of the their time.

  • all hail the queen, dale bozzio

  • all hail the queen, dale bozzio

  • this is how it should be... female rock singers backed by a BAND!!!! Blondie, The Pretenders, Siouxsie, The Cranberries, Garbage, need i go on?! It aggravates me that most female singers today (or in the past decade for that matter) either have to be some over-exposed pop starlet or an underground/indie act.

  • Comment removed

  • Shes not like Lady Ga Ga at all Dale is hot and Lady GG is well Id rather not say. Peace out...

  • awesome!!!

  • MISSING PERSONS RULES!!!! Saw 'em @ Six Flags Over Texas in 1984!! STILL have my shirt!! Dale is the bomb!! ALSO, still have allll my albums!!

  • Just showed a 19 y/o this video & he said "it looks like a school project" LOL. This was big shit in the 80's even though the singer wasn't talented they pulled it off as believe it or not this three piece band was loaded with immense talent, Terry Bozzio is an amazing drummer from Frank Zappa's band.

SO NOW YOU YOUNG-IN'S can see that Lady Ga Ga was already done 20 years ago.

Like someone said this was when MTV was really Music Television not like the CRAP they have on now.

  • @MusicCollaborator --- early 80's is ThIrTy years back!....I know when I say twenty OR thirty years ago, I still sound like an old fart!

  • @MusicCollaborator I'm 19, and I knew about Dale before GaGa...love them both but the reason so many like her is because she's bringing hints of the 80's back that so many people (like my mom and me) miss. I *love* MP and 80's music, most of today's music is HORRIBLE!

  • @MuchMoreMorgan You say most of today's music is horrible, yet you love Gaga. How amusing of you. They're not in the same league, kid.

  • @MusicCollaborator I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU ANYMORE BRO!! TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH!! THE CLASS OF 1986 IS STILL IN SESSION!!!

  • @MusicCollaborator The singer was and is very, very talented. This is not at all what Lady Gaga is/was doing...

  • @JohnnyLovely2 ........................I agree was wondering why the guy said the singer wasn't talented...........Dale rocked the look and the music........the whole band was awesome

  • @MusicCollaborator and btw... I'm 17... i don't think this looks like a 'school project' at all. it's much, much better. this is one of the best new wave groups ever.

  • @MusicCollaborator Dale (the singer) IS TOTALLY TALENTED still now just seen her last week and she is TALENTED you obviously are an untalented idiot. music is not your forte and Terry wasn't the only one in the band that was in Frank Zappa's band. so you don't know what your talking about Missing Persons are phenominal

  • @MusicCollaborator

"No talent?" Huh? OK, so Dale's no Debbie Harry, but to say she's a hack seems a tad harsh.

  • @MusicCollaborator a big shit or a big hit? :-)

  • @MusicCollaborator The singer is Dale Bozzio...his sister. She might not have been the been the best singer but they sure did make some good and fun music. an Icon band of the 80's as far as I' concerned.

  • @MusicCollaborator Umm singer wasn't talented?! c'mon dale kicked ass

  • @MusicCollaborator: I agree that today's music is CRAP, and that Lady Blah Blah essentially is a plagiarism of Dale Bazzio. For that matter many of today's female divas are simply throwbacks to what was done in the 80s only with far less real talent. Thanks to auto-tune, pitch correction, digital editing and the plethora of techno wizardry available these days, talent is not required to be a singer. This vid isn't a good representation of Dale's singing ability, however.

  • @MusicCollaborator I agree with the spirit of your comment. This is 30 years ago. I like Dale Bozzio. Unlike Lady Gaga there isn't auto-tune on this track.

  • @MusicCollaborator 30 yrs ago now and even some other great Los Angeles bands with female vocalist who never got there due or fame were cutting edge and breaking new ground in the later 70's blowing our minds with greatness. I think Madonna was the first commercial rip off steeling LA's female look from Punk, New Wave and under ground music, even steeling the look from LA's original Death Rock look/fashion. Anyways good post! Missing Persons rocked!

  • @MusicCollaborator You might think you're hip but as soon as you dissed Dale you overstepped......not cool......could you do better?

  • @MusicCollaborator Oh wait - you commenting on Youtube - not actually on it.....I just answered my own stupid question....

  • @MusicCollaborator right on ,dale was the least talented of this band. it really showed when they had a brief reunion in 2001-02? a few shows in CA. Terry & Warren were spot on, dale was not.

  • Love the beat to this song definitely a get up & dance song without a doubt!!!!

  • Wow man I haven't seen this video in years such a cool song this song got me into Missing Persons...

  • THIS was back then when MTV was MTV not all the dumb shit it is now where you have all this teen mom bullshit, MTV used to be just music and music videos now it fucking sucks!!!

  • @XfuckyouX24 This was the second music video to appear on MTV. :-)

  • @XfuckyouX24

i know right....im not too old but im not too young to remember. i just wonder when they are going to change their acronym...because there is no MUSIC on MTV it's just TV...??!! :/

  • KROQ Classic!

  • this song is the shit

  • this was MTV.

  • GAGA IS SHIT

  • If ANYTHING on the market these days can rival this, I'm not hearing it.

  • I could never get bored of this band or song, the 80's was such a great time.

  • I still work out listening to this song and to the person regarding on the crap show on MTV explained further what genres are you expressing. Because music today really do suck.

  • I saw this band in 1998 at small billiards place in Tucson. They didn't miss a beat ,I was 5 feet away .awesome she was hot

  • i couldn't understand about half of what she sang here.

  • @fearofablackjanet yes,,,,many years ago he posed naked for G magazine, a brazilian magazine, years later he make a porn video where he appears masturbating, showing his great body and his beautiful and huge cock and has another video where he introduces a dildo in the ass, meanwhile he jack off

  • Great music,,,i love Warren Cuccurullo, on the guitar,,he is so hot,,,, i love his porn video

  • A lot of people say Lady Gaga is copying Madonna. I think she's trying to copy Dale Bozzio!!!!!!!

  • The greatest song from MP and Dale looks succulent as ever. I met her back on Totally 80's tour with Flock of Seagulls. She looked great and her high-pitched voice was as endearing. Long live the 80's and great Bikini shot at the end.

  • Loved this tune when it came out, still love it today; what a great band. Too bad today's bands can't be more creative, oh well I'll just listen to more Missing Persons, lol

  • Danks your a welth o' 411. Why can't they all be in one place at the same time? The recording studio!

  • Thanks for the heads up, but there was a keyboard player and he would have been the fourth member,at least he was in the early vids of Mental H and Words?

  • @rocknrollhoocheecoo Actually, there were two keyboard players, Patrick O' Hearn and Chuck Wild, but it was Dale, Terry and Warren who originally recorded the first album "Spring Session M" -- Chuck and Patrick are currently composing their own solo projects.

  • Thanks Man. Warren C I'll call him. Incredible talent I think. To this day I haven't heard anybody extract a sound out of a guitar the way he did on Mental and Noticable One's. Steve Stevens.....right. Now I remember. Oh yes Billy's flock went off big time during that period too. I never hear Eye's without a Face much anymore? What a fuckin rad tune Steve Stevens way the guitar wizard too,but My vote has to go to Warren! Yeah god bless You Tube so I can voice that, and for your reply!

  • All Points Bulletin..... All Three, excuse me 4 members of Missing Persons report to the recording studio at once! Your coffee break is over! We need you back! Dale...snap back,Terry my friend for the love of God...Read the comments? MIA Missing Persons...You had too many hits. You can't just bail!?

  • @rocknrollhoocheecoo The "orignial" Missing Persons only consisted of Dale, Warren and Terry.

Dale and warren are back together for a summer tour. I recommend you check out the "Official Missing Persons" facebook page or Dale's official website (dalebozzioofficial com) for upcoming dates.

  • This is what a real rock group should sound like! It's sad were slipping away fast these days. 100,236 veiws should be 10 million. What a masterpeice of a song! Walkin in LA, Noticable One is the bomb though in my opinion?

  • MTV went from Rocking to the sewer!

  • A former Playboy playmate and virtuosos drummer. Cool combo. The US festival in Southern Cal, what a memorie. I was part of the 20 thousand who's buses never showed up at one of the designated parking lots, and we all had to walk 12 miles in blistering heat to get to the concert. It looked like the scene from the Ten Commandments like the exodus out of egypt. Its a good thing we were young. We were all dying of thirst when I ran into a friend from high school and he offered me pork grinds. WTF!!

  • This was a fav back in '82 on MTV, short & to the point!

I thought for years that the guitar player's (is it Warren Cuccirello?) guitar was a homemade model. Turns out it was an old & very rare Vox guitar model from the 60's called the Winchester. Vox was more famous for the teardrop shaped Mk VI guitar that Brian Jones from the Stones played, & also the guitar amps that they make to this day.

  • @seljuk1969 Pardo me for butting in,but who is / was that guitarist and where is he now? Man that guy was no doubt a master of eletronic soundeffects amazing talent that some how went un heralded? The only other guy with those chops back then was the guitarist for Billy Idol. That's it those two,but this guy was way cool whata rippa! Anyone agree?

  • @rocknrollhoocheecoo Good Question, you're thinking of Steve Stevens from Billy Idol's band, him & Warren (this is definitely him in this vid) here look similar and both had a similar playing style. Warren Cucciriello went on to play in Duran Duran for a good period of time in the 90's....have not heard what he has been up to lately.

  • @seljuk1969 His name is spelt, Warren Cuccurullo, and he's been composing some fantastic music, in my opinion, at least. I recommend you listen to some of music on his myspace "DoUBLEyOuSEe." One of my favorite tracks is "Is Wot You Is."

Dale has released some solo work since the disbandment as well. Most recently she released an LP entitled "Make Love Not War" which was intially recorded in the early '90s.

In addition, Dale and Warren are together for a tour this summer.

  • @CNSagent.. Thanx for the update...great to hear about the upcoming tour!

  • BTW, where can I get a guitar like that?

  • They were called a Steinberger. I had tried a few back then as I play guitar as well. i was all excited to try one out. They are actually very hard to play sitting down. They are show guitar at best. They also required good pickups because the body of the guitar did not produce nice tones due to the lack of wood. But, they stiull had a cool factor, I did not hate them, I just spent my cash on a nice Gibson.

  • @elbrown4183 Gee thanks for the response, I wasn't expecting anyone to comment. And Yeah, I had a feeling there was a disadvantage due to there being no body on the guitar.

  • Will we ever recreate the 80s musically? I don't know, but we can try:)

  • Lady Who?

  • Terry Bozzio was the BOMB in the early days of MTV.....

  • @blowe98 Dude was? That guy is the only living drummer today is? I can't even put it into words what he's all about. You gotta know he is what it is to love an instrument beyond the material it's made of. You must become one with the instrument , Like I said it's hard to put into words. To get and idea of what I'm saying by watching the clip were he's doing a solo with Frank Zappa watching. About half way thru, you'll see what I mean I hope. Please...

  • HELL YEAH !

  • Kids today don't even know what hopscotch is... we live in a sad world now!

  • F'ING DRUMS ARE AWESOME!!!!!

  • F'ING DRUWS ARE AWESOME!!!!!

  • Totally hot and punk!!

  • Anybody remember Wendy O. Williams?

  • @arklat Ichi Ni San Shi Butcher baby ooh yeah. Plasmatics!

  • @arklat Yeah Blonde hardcore trash mouth singer. I mean that in a good way but she had a unique persona. A real woman with her own opinions who wrote her own rules! Wendy-O-Williams right yeah thanks for reminding me boy how we lack nowadays!

  • Wow, I just made that connection....I've forgotten about this band and yeah, Lady Gaga is like a mixture of this, Maddonna, Siouxsie and her own ideas....look at the resemblance of her and Dale Bozzio, intriguing to say the least.

  • Besides " Destination Uunknown " I'd pic this to be my favorite. Classic 80's rock. I wish I could go back.

  • @MarkFaust I hear yah, so sick of the rap crap and wigger music being crammed down our throats....I don't even watch MTV (is it still on the air, lol) or VHI unless it's this type of music and other rock genres....My thing right now is Rammstein, Korn, Godsmack, but my little boy loves Lady gaga and Rammstein, hehehe

  • @zoso1234 Rammstein is totally badass, I love them!

  • These guys had to be one of the best of the 80's bands, if not thee best.

  • Big shame they couldn't keep the band together. They could have been huge!

  • Hustler 1980===Dale... Hot Naked an wet..pass the doob!

  • Missing Persons are great, great songs and style but come on Lady gaga obviously has influences from everything before her as does everything there ever is,so what.

Back in 1982 hordes of people were bemoaning bands like this saying the same thing as they say about gaga now, like "it's all image" or "are those guys wearing make up" and writing them off for not being like the eagles. You probably get Blondie fans saying,"Missing Persons?Pah".Talk about what goes around comes around.

  • @baswelo I know what you're saying,....but by the early 80's most of us were getting a little tired of bands like the Eagles,BOC,ELP,Aerosmith and their ilk.Not saying they sucked because they didn't.I was just time for something new and fresh, and groups like Missing Persons and Berlin came along at the right time.Lot of the old acts were late 60's groups that hit their commercial sucess in the 70's,so basically we were listing to the same music our older brothers listed to.HS Class of 82

  • man the drummer is kickass

  • Hustler magazine - March 1979

    Hustler magazine - February 1980

  • keyboard player looks bored

  • This was one of the most ass-kicking bands from the '80s! A fine mixture of talent, great songs AND beauty.

(And yes, Lady CaCa needs to give it up!)

  • Roller skating (with my neon pink wheels) from Venice to Santa Monica and back on the bike path...white Wayfarer Ray Bans, dolphin shorts and a bikini top. Stopping off at Toes Beach to hang out with my friends, listening to great songs like this. Cold beers, hot bodies and not a care in the world. Those were my 80's. Thank you MP for the most awesome memories!

  • @TheUniversalWoman I can see it now ahhhh yes the roller girls! We do miss you babes of the 80's no pretense the real deal. Thanks and God BLess

  • Wow. What a shame about that comment three down ... anyway. .. what an f'ing rocking song. Brings back memories.

  • this is awesome but i dont normally listen to this type of music. can any reccomend anything of similar style and awesomeness?

  • @jimmyshitbags: check out the other MP videos here on youtube. you might also check out The Cars. they were the definitive power-pop, new wave band of the 80's.

  • @jimmyshitbags All I can advise is search for "new wave" or "80's new wave". Those bands vary in style but a lot of them had great musicians.

  • Sooo before there time LOVE It then and now!

  • Terry Bozio is a driving force...

anyone that has played with Frank Zappa is an incredible musician

  • @FrankCastlez And don't forget, he played "The Black Page" with Zappa. In fact, it was written for him. Patrick O'Hearn was on the same tour, the FZ "Live in New York" album. Missing Persons were a freakishly talented band. Between them, Oingo Boingo, King Crimson and X, I get very upset when folks say there was no talent in the 80's. All those bands had technical chops and composing skills, playing fantastically challenging music with great ease. Oingo Boingo's "Ain't This the Life"? Unreal.

  • I loves me some dale bozzio!!.....I wonder if she'd remember me...

  • I just found out where Lady Gaga's re-hash spring is!

  • I wanna turn this into a metal tune.... sing it an octave down and growl about half of it bwahahahahahaaa.... >:)

  • Awesome!!.....This is when MTV had real talent and musicians.....Unlike the crap now.

  • Woah...this is the shit! Pure New Wave! I love it! I definitly would have been all over them if I was a kid back then!

  • @cellosareawesome I was, and I was.

  • Dale Bozzio is one of a kind! Just listen to the lyrics & how she plays with her vocals! She was the shit & still is!
