This war is for OIL. In order to shift from an oil based society to a solar powered society, we need to build the first solar powered high speed train. One from San Diego to Sacramento. This will free us from oil. This will eliminate the need to build centralized solar farms on the desert & a wasteful new grid. Power lines have enemies. First we need to build 1 million new solar powered houses, each year. Solar powered houses create millions of jobs. These are jobs that cannot be exported.

I like Obama's fine but I prefer Ross Perot's action plan. If CEO's want to charge that fat American price for goods, they better pay the fat American wage for production. Then it's a circle feeding itself, not a line bleeding itself. Without (nearly free) Korean/Brazillian/Indonesian labor there will of course be fewer palacial estates and private jets.. but that bothers me not. It's "trickle up" economics that are in order now.

Obama's solution to save the US economy is just a re-vamped version of FDR's New Deal of the 1930's. To suggest that a 1930's plan will work in the early part of the 21st century is plainly ridiculous. The only solution to this present crisis is for the people, the workers to be in control of their own destiny. This means REAL socialism. Not the dictatorship that was the Soviet Union, but where the people are in control. Obama won't help the working class only the ruling class of which he is.

I would hope most new job creation would be in areas of energy independence such as wind, concentrating solar,and wave energy, instead of building more roads and bridges. Jobs will dry up when roads are and bridges are finished, but clean energy generation will require monitoring far into the future.

The "crisis" is that we over-valued our houses and loans. Mortgage-backed securities (loans to house owners that could be paid back to the loan owner) were sold at higher prices than their true value.

When people realized that no-income no-job loans could not be paid back (and house values were not going up to compensate for those losses) the prices fell.

A Resource-Based Economy is a system in which all goods and services are available without the use of money, credits, barter or any other system of debt or servitude. Our practice of rationing resources through monetary methods is irrelevant and counter productive to our survival.

If the entire country is moved to a "Resource-Based Economy", where does the incentive go, for businesses to actually take risks on innovating products.

If you completely eliminate any and all incentives, the average business has no reason to take on any of the risks, i.e. crop failures, front-line inventions, energy improvements, etc.

Hate to knock Cuba, but that kind of system will probably not work, in the country that capitalism bore.
