  • That's one amazing piece of work there Dale! Awesome videography, editing and most of all... a really sweet sentiment!

This gives me an idea on how you could supplement your income, and I'm totally serious about this. You could give a clinic/class/whatever on making better, more creative video! I mean it. I would gladly come off the hip with real cash to be tutored by you. I bet there are others that feel the same way. Just something to think about. (no joke this time!)

Hey, wasn't Elphy's newest video just the bomb?!

  • Yes, so much so, that I had to feature it! I just love her creative ability, just to watch her do anything mesmerizes me.

And Dale, this too was the bomb, your children are soooooooooo beautiful!

  • I know, I saw you in the comments, and I saw it on your page! I think it was her best art vlog yet. And to think...she did it while dealing with TWO rugrats! Mega-impressive!

    And thank you Lori! :-D

  • Yup, the seemingly simple things in life, that make us keep going forward, really are worth it :)

Cool video Dale. Take care and see you around ;)

Thanks man. Yeah, this video seems to have gone over VERY well. Who would have thunk it? :-D

  • Very cool payoff!! Awesome editing Dale!

  • Thanks Tony!

How is the ST2 planning coming along?

  • I caught a cold so right now it's at a hault. I am feeling better now though so plan to meet with some hotels in the area on Friday.

  • Definitely worth EVERYTHING that you do...

All the stress, all the work, all the long drives, all the rat-race ...if you come home and see those two smiling faces.

That was precious. God bless y'all.

  • Thank you Suzi! They are definitely a blessing!

    :-D

  • Wow, they really are excited to see you:) That must be so nice to come home to.

  • It makes the whole world melt away!

    Take care kitty squasher! :-D

  • NIce to see your ponit of view ;) And kids are looking cuuuuute as always =D

  • Thank you Sweety!

    hugs

  • WAY COOOL DALE!! That video just says it ALL! I'm totally impressed!! And I'm ALSO wondering how you mounted the camera to the side of your car like that!! LoL! Or is it the "Holding the camera out the window and hoping you don't drop it at 50 mph trick"? Haha..

    FiVESTARRRS!!!

    ♫ ToMMyY!! ♫

  • ♫ ToMMyY!! ♫!!!!!!

    Thanks!!!

Hey man. I have to get over and see your latest. I am so behind right now!

As for the side-car cam...you nailed it. Correct guess, my friend!

  • haha, naw... you really do love your family so muh, its really great. =)

  • Most days I do Rob! LOL j/k

    Thanks!

  • Incredible! Sometimes the unplanned videos are the best. I love this one.... especially the end!

  • Hey Elphy! I haven't typed to you in over thirty minutes! :-D

It seems our latest videos are one of the faves of the other.

    How symbiotic!

*looks up above word in dictionary*

OK, that's not QUITE the word I was looking for. So fill it in with one that fits! :-D

How are you surviving with two rugrats? Have you created a workable routine for you and them yet? Still tweaking?

  • I have no vocab these days- just a mushy brain. I had over 14 mins of me talking for my last video and only about 30 seconds was useable.

Routine schmoutine. I tried a routine with Jack and he didn't sleep through the night until he was 2! This time I'm trying to be more relaxed and let Rya guide us. so far it's working great.

  • What do you mean you have no vocabulary?

    Schmoutine!!!!

That's the greatest word EVER! LOL

And what do you mean you have no routine?

Having Rya guide you IS a routine! It is just HER routine! LOL

And I can't believe that you got to talk in front of the camera for 14 minutes! I am jealous!

  • excellent *****

  • Gracias!!!

  • Awesome!! I love the music you put with it. Very nice.

Taking the shuttle bus and driving a long way is worth it all when you see your kids smiling! :D How sweet!!

  • Thanks Shaye!

    *hugs*

  • Great Video!!!!

  • Thanks Norman!

  • That was wonderful! Great editing and the end: AWE!!!

  • Thank you kind lady! :-D

Oh, and I have been meaning to tell you, I LOVE your background picture on your channel. WAY COOL!

  • LOL...Bravo! Good video!

My kiddos are up and out conquering the world now.

I sure miss coming in the door and hearing, DADDY!!!

  • So are mine Mike .. but I sure remember that great feeling .. thanks for sharing this beautiful video beloved friend!

  • You are welcome! And thank you for watching and commenting.

    :-D

  • Thanks Mike! I am trying to treasure these days because they DO go by too quickly!

    :-D

  • Great lil vid amigo...love the edit.

  • Muchos Gracias Jason! I had fun editing this one!

  • LOVED IT! Great job and of course the ending is priceless. I feel the same way after driving an hour home every day...thier smiles just melt the aggrevation of traffic away!

  • Thanks Sue! You hit the nail on the head.

Esactly my message without talking. :-D

  • Awesome job Dale, how did you do the side-angles that are by the wheels, stick your arm out the window or something? Nevertheless, that certainly is a great payoff, w00t indeed. =)

  • Thanks Mike!

Side angles? You were right. That was done by hanging my arm out the window, holding the camera upside down (and flipping the picture during editing).

I have been wanting to do that shot for a while.

    :-D

  • That was GREAT, Dale! I used to have a minute commute and the kids would always open up the windows, jump up and down and tackle me when I got in. This reminded me of it... yep the reason it is all worth it. Very creative camera work too... you're like the Sam Raimi of family entertainment. (circa Evil Dead of course)

  • WOw Alf! Thanks for the compliment, myman!

Circa Evil Dead, huh? I'll take it. But I hope that it is only because of my ridiculously low budget. I mean, if I had a budget to speak of, I could give you a Spiderman e'ry now and again! :-D

    LOL

    Thanks Alf!

  • Brilliant edition and very inspiring. The best thing in the world right? ;)

  • Absolutely Felix!

    And Thanks!

  • xD great video, music seemed a little too fast paced for the end part though :p

  • Thanks!

And I agree with you! I couldn't find anything that fit right and would transition correctly, so I just went with what was there.

    :-D

  • Great video I can't wait to get home.

  • Thanks!!

    And neither can I....everyday!

  • Really cool and very sweet Dale!!! : )

  • Come here often? hehe

    Thanks Sweety! You ROCK!

  • Great video! I love the look on your little girls face at the end. I cant believe she still doesnt have any hair!

  • Thanks Tishala!

Yeah! We can't believe it EITHER! Plus, she still only has TWO BOTTOM TEETH for cheeses sake!

I have started shaking her regularly just in an attempt to get those teeth and that hair to pop on out!

    LOL

  • I like the text too!

  • Live Type with Hollywood Hills font found at freeMacfonts dot com

    :-D

    hugs

  • thanks Dale!

  • wow - so well done. I love it! I am going to watch again. That was really smooth. Great camera work (I am wondering how you got some of the shots). :)

  • WOW! Honored to have you like it so much!

You know that I think your compliments are like little gold nuggets! :-) And with the price of gold what it is today...well, that's just DANDY!

What I think is funny about this, is that I REALLY just wanted to do a video. I didn't have anything to say. I got out the camera in the shuttle and just started shooting stuff on the way home. I didn't have a CLUE how I was going to piece it all together until over HALFWAY home.

    :-D

  • that's almost the only way I work (as far as youtube goes). I edit as script writing and I just shoot whatever, whenever. I think it works out pretty well! Though I do now have a project with more structure. I just have to buy a new camera. :)

  • I usually start with an idea (even a broad one), a very rough outline in my head, + then just let 'er fly. But one out of ten vids, I seem to just turn on the camera, and whatever happens, I adjust throughout + then get a plan either in the editing, or late in the shooting (like this one).

I am the least affective when I have a ridged plan/script/etc.

I guess it is the scavenger in me. :-D

That is why I am having such a hard time with the art vid that I keep telling you about. Over-thinking.

  • Whoa that was cool! And I'm glad you included the link to the higher-quality version, this deserves it! I was baffled by the door-cam until I read your comment above.

Only thing you forgot was the cell phone shot. :)

  • Thanks Mike! I was really disappointed with the compression on this one, so I had to do it. I actually got the idea to include the link in the description from your 'Broadcasting Love' vid. :-D So thanks!

As for the cell phone...NO no no. Hands-free baby! Hands-free!

  • Great camera work and editing. And, of course, the ending is priceless. Well done, Dale.

  • Thank you Brian! It is funny how sometimes you just get out the camera and things fall into place. I literally didn't know what I was going to do with my footage until over halfway home. :-D

  • That was so cool! Just love the ending, reminds me of when I use to run to the door to see my Dad when he came home.

  • Thanks Dara!

I am glad you had a good flashback! :-D

  • Yey! Thats so cute :)

  • Do I know you? :-D

Haven't talked with you in a while! LOL

How is Luke and the fishies?

    hugs!!!

  • You spoke to me yesturday!!

    Everyone is alive and well...just!

    :D

  • I was being funny, me lady!

A wee bit of sarcasm...just a wee bit!

    <3

  • Mine goes off to college this fall. YES its all worth it! :)

  • I dread that day! :-D At least I do right now. Give me a few years and I will start packing their bags for the University! LOL

    Nah. probably not.

    Thanks Knight!

  • Oh, there is nothing wrong with packing their bags. AS long as she does not mind Daddy packing his bags and going with her.

Its never easy to let go. :)

  • Well done sir! very nice editing! How's the commercials going?

  • Thank you sir.

They are still in the earliest part of production. Everything will probably come to a head all at the same time.:)

Don't things normally go like that?

    :-D

  • All I can say is this made me smile :-)

  • Goal achieved then :-D

Hey VK! Hope you are doing well!

    hugs

  • Very creative.I love the end,it's my favorite part.:)

  • It's my favorite part too....everyday! :-D

  • hmmm... I only have a 15 minute commute (wonder what that would look like)

Yesterday I was greeted with "DADDY'S HOME!!! Dad can you fix the Wii so we can play on the internet?".... yeah they miss me when I'm not there :P

  • Yes Scott, I know that there will soon be a day when they do not beg for me to play with them when I arrive home.

I guess that is one of the big reasons that I am capturing all these memories now! Oh how time flies...

    :-D

  • Oh you big softy, you! That was so sweet...great editing....HOW do you have a camera mounted on the side of your car?!

  • That is done by hanging my arm out the window, holding the camera upside down (and flipping the picture during editing).

I had been wanting to do that shot for a while. I wanted to have the camera on a stick just inches above the road. but I settled for what you see here.

    Thanks!

    :-D

  • Didn't you do this before in one of your vids? I remember, I think it was you, doing a driving vid with three views, that, inside dash, and on top of car.

  • Yes. I had three cameras mounted. One on a tripod sticking out the sunroof; one in the floorboard aimed at the stickshift; and one mounted in the corner of the windshield aimed at my ugly mug. :D

But I wanted to do the outside ground level shot then too, but I just couldn't spare the arm that time. :)

I am quickly running out of car shots though... :-D

  • ;o Cool, I suppose, lol. ;D Nice edited n so thou :D

  • Thanks Joe, I suppose. LOL

    :-D
