Just heard this version of Angry Chair with Scott for the first time now. Yes Cantrell is the main songwriter, which is why A.I.C survived (sort of), everyone knows how they were formed. Jerry and Layne were the main songwriter's not the rest of the band. Layne usually wrote lyrics and Cantrell wrote music.

I grew up with AiC... actually my first metal album was Master of Puppets... but all I see here is a guy imitating Layne, from the slicked back hair, to the shades, to the mannerisms. I was standing right in front of Scott at this show and actually have the lyric sheet he was trying to read from. He was jacked. Should have picked an easier song. He was lucky William held it together for him.

@baileymuck Oh yeah, you can definitely tell he is totally fucked. He messed the song up badly, they were able to save it. It must have been a REAL downer for them to see that, considering the way Layne went out. I swear it must have been like reliving the nightmare.

Well no offense but I don't know who Scott Weiland is. I grew up with AiC... actually my first metal album was Master of Puppets... but all I see here is a guy imitating Layne, from the slicked back hair, to the shades, to the mannerisms. If I wanted to see that I could just click on the original video on Vevo.

@ChurchOfTheWay Scott Weiland is the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, probably a bigger hit band than Alice in Chains, both are one of my favorite bands, but i promise you, this guy does not have to try to imitate noone, he is an original no doubt. He and Layne both share a common adversary - Heroin.

Duvall is a madhouse. saw him on his first tour with Jerry in 2003. he did vocals on "down in a hole" and I about cried. it was incredible. he nailed it.

@MrSanctification I think he was busy doing stuff with STP when AIC reformed, but I agree. Duvall has a great voice, but I think Scott Weiland just "fits" AIC better. I'm also a little disappointed with the new AIC's lyrics, and I think Scott would be a big help in that department.
