I know that (at least in normal Super Metroid) you can kill the frogs with bombs. I'm thinking you were supposed to do that, then get the Space Jump right after Kraid, and that's how you were supposed to cross the lake where you used diagonal bomb jumping. Or I could be completely wrong =P

@Sidnoea Nope, the only thing that works on them in this hack are Super Missiles/Plasma Beam. Come to find out, you're SUPPOSED to wait until after you acquire the Plasma Beam to get the Space Jump, but I did a minor sequence break getting them when I did.

I -think- the room with the fake e-tank, if you fall down right next to the statue into the water, there's no spikes and the item is right there.

Not in this hack, in Super Metroid Impossible bombs don't affect them.
