I like this approach to jujutsu/aikido and I like most videos that are on youtube on this martial art.
I wanted to find out more information on the creator of the martial art. What is his background? What martial arts did he practice and what were his ranks?
This guy is a joke, where is his center...This is not Aikido, where is the 10 people randori at, being a so-call 10th degree in Aikido? This guy will be too tire out to even last a minute.. Every techneque he is doing. depend on his strenth, not Ki...10th degree was O' sensei, this guy is a insult to Aikido!
Ueshiba orginally taught aiki-jitsu,aikido he formed for a university where he taught,a softer form,the original teaching was like a combination of jui jitsu,aikido,with atemi.a samurai art.To learn this original art you had to have a second dan in jui jitsu or ken jitsu.Like Kano he saw japan and the world was changing and the need for the more warlike art not so necessary.They were both influenced by the english gentleman which was popular worldwide as an ideal at that time
I appreciate all that he did for "real" Aikido.I study a Tradicional Aikido for 6 yrs and i think that every one can make something out of something , if u can understand me.Its easy to start from a already built technique (Aikido invented by Morihei Ueshiba "9th dan" 10th dan doesnt exist) , just change some moves and there you go , i can call this "Real Aikido".Ljuba is good but every one should know that its all thanks to Morihei THE TRUE MASTER of Aikido, the inventor.Thank you
I've been practicing Ueshiba Aikido for about 2 years now and I'm wondering if you would know if the Aikido form shown in this video original Aiki-jitsu? or is it Shodokan (the competitive Aikido)?
akidio is a great sport and self defence but not wery effectiv in the reality, when you seee this randori they fall by perpes but,mma,jiu jiutsu,shokokan karate are more efektiv

@BoJaN87M any type of aikido had to have com from the orginal source people have made up there own type sence then but u can never be as good or even claim to know as much as the founder. and also aikido is ment to be smooth in term of how you handle your attacker if u watch him he is harsh he is more of a attacker than anything else so this real aikido that there calming to be the new thing is all wrong it might as well be called walk up to someone and punch them in the face. thats my opinion
@619dillion you a right.... aikido is about using attackers force against him...and its all about energy, harmony.etc....this type is a lil bit more aggresive i agree that, but you know he is teaching bodyguards and elite special forces, so they need neutralisation of attacker, and to strike back....: )

@onako88 hahaha I trained boxing 8 years. My father was champion of SFRJ 1978. In 1979. he went to world championship in Havana, Cuba... You know... when Teófilo Stevenson was the best in the world. Every year in my city the best boxers of SFRJ have reunion. My father and his friends organize that event. We have for guests Slobodan and Tadia Kacar (uncles of football player Gojko Kacar), Dragan Vujkovic.... and many others superb boxers. I know about sport. Krav Maga and Real Aikido are good.
I am sure that's why he was Special Forces Instructor for Libya...probably a wuss.. yep...you caught the tater. I trained with this guy and he will jack your ass up in a heart beat!
Thank god akido isnt used except for demonstrations! i heard that if you use akido on the street, the attackers eyes melt, the sun explodes, and buda shows up and kisses you on the mouth...its way too dangerous to be used for real. its good there arent any aikdo masters out there actually using their fighting style...it would be terrible for the sun to explode.

what I have come to realize more and more by watching aikido is if you are attacked by crazed uncoordinated zombies with no balance or fighting skills it is probably the most effective martial art
@buyplants well do u think that the ring fight is the real street fight i dont think so.because in the ring there are two gyus who are runing around trying to find open space than strike, and iam teling from my own experience thats not what happens in street fight, people are gona jump on u with shole strenght not gona run around u.
But this video does not show the original Aikido but "Real Aikido", a modern, more direct and more "brutal" style of it. So you have to see the differences between "Aikido" and "Real Aikido"...
@buyplants ...dude, this is not aikido. This is REAL aikido, as in every day/street fight etc... it is a serbian martial art, and believe me, it is very effective... it is a mixture of aikido, jujutsu, rukopasnii boi and more...
Don't underestimate what you don't know, this is just a presentation of school techniques, it's much more brutal in training... :)

That's the point of "staging", to show complete technique. In real situation your arms could be broken and you could be hurt. For those who practicing aikido or know something about it, it is known if you lose hand contact with master you can be punched or kicked. Very few people know that real aikido have a lot kicks and punches that traditional aikido doesn't have. At the end of each technique you'll see master improvising punch. Mr Vracarevic is really GOOD!!!!

there is only one true grandmaster (10th dan) he went by the name morehei ueshiba and he is no longer with us.all other's who clam this are false master's. only the creator of an art whether it be akido,karate,jits,ect. can decide who has earned the write to carry such titles.for example the Gracie's are the only one's who can say if a student has earned an increase in rank.not sum guy who knows there style and thinks he's "master"
@metalfrommaine And I'm pretty sure Ueshiba would not approve of this developement. Technically this stuff is akin to Aikido, but just as much as jiu jitsu is akin to Aikido. The 10th dan of Mr Vracarevich is certainly not an Aikikai grade. And whatever it is, it is certainly not "real" aikido. "Filosophical crap" is an intrinsic part of aikido and sets it apart from other martial arts and fighters who chose not to think about what they're doing and how it relates to them as human beings.
@Cypher25z How do you think you get a 9 or 10 dan ? You have to do something usefull for federation or invent yout own stile. He just droped japanese religion and mistic to make it simpler whats wrong with that ? I'm a BJJ guy by the way.
@Cypher25z Did a little look up and read his rank is not reconized by any aikido organization or even hombu dojo. There is no such rank of 10th dan in aikido also. Its an award from a organization outside of aikido.

"Real" to me means the opponent is really trying to hurt you. Practically every martial art system makes some claim of defense against this, including the one in this video. Without fully resisting, non-cooperating opponents in a live sparring setting, the connection to reality is low.
Wow, I want to take up Aikido. I love how it seems to focus on putting in the least amount of effort as possible, so it's a form of self defence that can last with age. Seriously awesome.

I can't believe what are you arguing and fighting for. It is international accepted martial art from Serbia, end of story. There is no reason to put in this story bad comments, cuz even traditional Aikido have so many styles created by Japanes, starting from Shioda, so problem shouldn't be Real Aikido, and your intolerant attitude, cuz your (traditional) philosophy learns just opposite. hey, kaiten, under which sensei did ueshiba earn HIS 10th dan? He DIDN'T. The FOUNDER of a style does not RECEIVE his rank from ANYONE. You seem to have very little understanding of the martial arts. For example, from whom did Al Tracy receive his 10th dan? He didn't. He is the founder of a new style of Kenpo.
"Real Aikido" is a new style. It's NOT an attempt to subvert Yoshinkan or some other branch of Aikido. It is a NEW style, meant to deal with "Real" situations.

this is just my opinion but his styke is about finishing the fight with out question. we dont tom and jerry with people they lay there hands on us its done. qhat if the first technique fails or misses we follow up with the punches. If a altercation ever came to this then yeah they have it all coming to them.
ok i understand what you meaning. but one question. Why will have first technique fail or misses hm? :) You must train hard a good and couple of years and then will be no fails of technique. I think technique in aikido fail when you gets violent or power there, where is not necessary. You know what i mean? When the 86 year old O sensei do aikido with out any abnormaln physical power, its work with out there power. You know. Aikido need not violent power to be working or function more. :)

O sensei defendía que el Atemi (golpes en partes vitales para poner al Uke en la posición correcta) y el Kiai (gritos de ataque) suponían el 90% en el combate real. El Aikido espiritual debería enseñarse en iglesias, y para el dojo se debería dejar una mezcla que incluyese filosofía de Aikido pero también todo el trasfondo de arte marcial que tiene, dañando o no al Uke (a elección) según situación

I live in south of Serbia and I trained aikido a bit, it's a great martial art and it's strengthens your hole body. My father and brother also trained aikido, my dad had a chance to train from Ljubomir Vracarevic, that man is a real wizard of fighting, a true legend.
he is well known in military world because he trained a lot of spec.forces russian, french, CIA, libya,and others,as lot of famous bodyguards, and he is founder of serbian martial art discipline realni aikido... he is in USA MMA hall of fame... he trained with Kisshomaru Ueshiba son of Morihei founder of aikido, and later with Gozo Shioda 10th dan(since 1932, founder of the Yoshinkan Aikido)(Gozo is in first generation of Morihei Ueshiba students)

I have attended training days so that also makes me a Soke. There is no such thing as 'real Aikido' any more than there is anything called 'real kung-Fu' or 'real Karate'! What a disgrace to a Gi!!
Actually 'Real Aikido' is just a bad translation. In this context, 'real' doesn't mean it's the one and only true and authentic aikido, in Serbian the primary meaning of 'realni aikido' is 'real-life situations aikido'. It differs from traditional aikido by being devoid of Japanese philosophical and religious elements. Also, the techniques are slightly modified to allow for greater control of the uke.

@jezovnikj, Problem with Aikido has always been the same, what happens when the person facing you does not comply with you to let you grab them, they fakes, kicks & can grapple. Aikido people need to face reality, it is only meant for general public that has no clue how to fight, other wise you are pretty much in trouble.
@ShorinRyuRonin I see your point and it's valid to some extent. But you have to understand that most YT videos demonstrate aikido as a martial art and not as street self-defense. Certain aikido teachings are very useful in self-defense, but just like any other martial art/sport it doesn't have a magical answer to every attack. Struggling with a person to lock their joint in a lock (as seen in many "aikido self-defense" vids) is probably the least efficient way to go and is NOT what aikido is.
@jezovnikj, Its not just You Tube, and Aikido is a Martial Art, I am trying to take anything away from this style, this form was designed for peace time, the aggressive nature is taken out, but to demostrate it against styles that are designed for real combat it is at a huge disadvantage. Dont get me wrong, I have great appreciation for this style for what it was intended to be, but to combat a fighter, a style designed for combat, it will not do well.

@sidndluke, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, they were not created for peace time, they were to defend against violent acts & as you defend against violence you have to train aggresive. Karate moves & Jiu Jitsu or Ninjitsu are not designed to through people around, majority of the moves are designed to destroy. Having said that, they are taught peaceful mind, if you train in a mindset like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai that would change nature of Karate & Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Not sure if I explained it well
@ShorinRyuRonin I think your argument has gone way too far from the context of the discussion. True "combat" is to the death, and ANY two "fighters" can engage in this no matter what you study. Style may be sacrificed in moments when your life is on the line. Any demonstration is only a demo', and should be balanced and well choreographed.
@VikingRaider, You think so, it does not make it that way, that is only your opinon. Anyone can engage but if you are not prepared, you are not ready & your style is not created for battle then you wont have a chance to survive. A demo is to show what can be done & Aikido practitioners always want to show their skill against others, it is self defense against a people that do not have fighting skills, show me where any Aikido practitioner has been able to stand against real fighters & survived.
i don't know if you practise aikido but if you do you should have known that aikido is a defensive sport, so without a attacker there will be no winner
who knows. Master Ueshiba was very mysterious cause I read a story about him punking a Judo Champion on a subway. Master Ueshiba was barely 100lbs while the judo champ was in his 200. Maybe the Real aikido could done better. Who knows..
He did NOT recieve a diploma from Gozo Shioda Kancho. It was a training day open to everyone, he got a certificate to say he attended that class just like lots of other people that day.
In August 2002 the United States Martial Arts Association elected Vracarevic to its Hall of Fame and awarded him the title Grandmaster, black belt 10th dan, Sōke. This award is not recognized by any of the mainstream aikido organizations such as Aikikai and Yoshinkan.
but dont you recive 10 dan when you found an martial art? Im not sure, but if you INVENTED it, and every organisations accept it as an martial art, doesnt that mean that you are grandmaster of it? Its just my oppinion..
for starters not every organisation accepts him it's only him and the USMAA that accept his martial art as his own. as for Sōke: this only means Headmaster/Head of Family. is a Japanese term often used to indicate "headmaster" like a headmaster of a school. I hope this helps.
I just thought that there should be a grandmaster because he would do all thats nessesery to promote the art, but not having an rank does too make sence....
anyway, he has Shodan in judo and jujutsu and I think 5th or 6th dan in aikido.....and many bodyguards organisations teach real aikido as the best way to defeat your opponents....

Every year in my city the best boxers of SFRJ have reunion. My father and his friends organize that event. We have for guests Slobodan and Tadia Kacar (uncles of football player Gojko Kacar), Dragan Vujkovic.... and many others superb boxers. I know about sport. Krav Maga and Real Aikido are good.

Thank god akido isnt used except for demonstrations! i heard that if you use akido on the street, the attackers eyes melt, the sun explodes, and buda shows up and kisses you on the mouth...its way too dangerous to be used for real. its good there arent any aikdo masters out there actually using their fighting style...it would be terrible for the sun to explode.

ljudi ovo na ulici ne mozete da primenite........trenirao sam realni aikido 6 godina, a zadnjih 3 meseca treniram kick box.Primetio sam da nije lako videti udarac boljeg kik boksera a kamoli da reagujete pomocu ajkidoa........ima i ajkido dobrih forica koje treba znati. Jedan dzudista me je jednom izbacao a znanje padova iz ajkida mi je pomoglo da ne padam mnogo jako na zemlju ...ahahahahah.......ajkido je apsolutno beskoristan......verujte mi , znam sta pricam.

Chovek je postigao zaista neverovatno mnogo, dovoljna je chinjenica da je trenirao Alfa grupu u Sovjetskom Savezu, koja je najelitnija poznata svetu specijalna jedinica u Sovjetskom Savezu, a sada u Rusiji. That's the point of "staging", to show complete technique. In real situation your arms could be broken and you could be hurt. For those who practicing aikido or know something about it, it is known if you lose hand contact with master you can be punched or kicked. Very few people know that real aikido have a lot kicks and punches that traditional aikido doesn't have. At the end of each technique you'll see master improvising punch. Mr Vracarevic is really GOOD!!!!

there is only one true grandmaster (10th dan) he went by the name morehei ueshiba and he is no longer with us.all other's who clam this are false master's. only the creator of an art whether it be akido,karate,jits,ect. can decide who has earned the write to carry such titles.for example the Gracie's are the only one's who can say if a student has earned an increase in rank.not sum guy who knows there style and thinks he's "master"

@metalfrommaine And I'm pretty sure Ueshiba would not approve of this developement. Technically this stuff is akin to Aikido, but just as much as jiu jitsu is akin to Aikido. The 10th dan of Mr Vracarevich is certainly not an Aikikai grade. And whatever it is, it is certainly not "real" aikido. "Filosophical crap" is an intrinsic part of aikido and sets it apart from other martial arts and fighters who chose not to think about what they're doing and how it relates to them as human beings.

"Real" to me means the opponent is really trying to hurt you. Practically every martial art system makes some claim of defense against this, including the one in this video. Without fully resisting, non-cooperating opponents in a live sparring setting, the connection to reality is low.

I can't believe what are you arguing and fighting for. It is international accepted martial art from Serbia, end of story. There is no reason to put in this story bad comments, cuz even traditional Aikido have so many styles created by Japanes, starting from Shioda, so problem shouldn't be Real Aikido, and your intolerant attitude, cuz your (traditional) philosophy learns just opposite. hey, kaiten, under which sensei did ueshiba earn HIS 10th dan? He DIDN'T. The FOUNDER of a style does not RECEIVE his rank from ANYONE. You seem to have very little understanding of the martial arts. For example, from whom did Al Tracy receive his 10th dan? He didn't. He is the founder of a new style of Kenpo.
"Real Aikido" is a new style. It's NOT an attempt to subvert Yoshinkan or some other branch of Aikido. It is a NEW style, meant to deal with "Real" situations.

this is just my opinion but his styke is about finishing the fight with out question. we dont tom and jerry with people they lay there hands on us its done. qhat if the first technique fails or misses we follow up with the punches. If a altercation ever came to this then yeah they have it all coming to them.

ok i understand what you meaning. but one question. Why will have first technique fail or misses hm? :) You must train hard a good and couple of years and then will be no fails of technique. I think technique in aikido fail when you gets violent or power there, where is not necessary. You know what i mean? When the 86 year old O sensei do aikido with out any abnormaln physical power, its work with out there power. You know. Aikido need not violent power to be working or function more. :)

si tio pero con el tiempo eso se ha convertido en el Aikido, y el Aikido tiene más. O sensei defendía que el Atemi (golpes en partes vitales para poner al Uke en la posición correcta) y el Kiai (gritos de ataque) suponían el 90% en el combate real. El Aikido espiritual debería enseñarse en iglesias, y para el dojo se debería dejar una mezcla que incluyese filosofía de Aikido pero también todo el trasfondo de arte marcial que tiene, dañando o no al Uke (a elección) según situación

I live in south of Serbia and I trained aikido a bit, it's a great martial art and it's strengthens your hole body. My father and brother also trained aikido, my dad had a chance to train from Ljubomir Vracarevic, that man is a real wizard of fighting, a true legend.

he is well known in military world because he trained a lot of spec.forces russian, french, CIA, libya,and others,as lot of famous bodyguards, and he is founder of serbian martial art discipline realni aikido... he is in USA MMA hall of fame... he trained with Kisshomaru Ueshiba son of Morihei founder of aikido, and later with Gozo Shioda 10th dan(since 1932, founder of the Yoshinkan Aikido)(Gozo is in first generation of Morihei Ueshiba students)

Actually 'Real Aikido' is just a bad translation. In this context, 'real' doesn't mean it's the one and only true and authentic aikido, in Serbian the primary meaning of 'realni aikido' is 'real-life situations aikido'. It differs from traditional aikido by being devoid of Japanese philosophical and religious elements. Also, the techniques are slightly modified to allow for greater control of the uke.

Aikido people need to face reality, it is only meant for general public that has no clue how to fight, other wise you are pretty much in trouble.

@ShorinRyuRonin I see your point and it's valid to some extent. But you have to understand that most YT videos demonstrate aikido as a martial art and not as street self-defense. Certain aikido teachings are very useful in self-defense, but just like any other martial art/sport it doesn't have a magical answer to every attack. Struggling with a person to lock their joint in a lock (as seen in many "aikido self-defense" vids) is probably the least efficient way to go and is NOT what aikido is.

@jezovnikj, Its not just You Tube, and Aikido is a Martial Art, I am trying to take anything away from this style, this form was designed for peace time, the aggressive nature is taken out, but to demostrate it against styles that are designed for real combat it is at a huge disadvantage. Dont get me wrong, I have great appreciation for this style for what it was intended to be, but to combat a fighter, a style designed for combat, it will not do well.

@sidndluke, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, they were not created for peace time, they were to defend against violent acts & as you defend against violence you have to train aggresive. Karate moves & Jiu Jitsu or Ninjitsu are not designed to through people around, majority of the moves are designed to destroy. Having said that, they are taught peaceful mind, if you train in a mindset like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai that would change nature of Karate & Japanese Jiu Jitsu. @ShorinRyuRonin I think your argument has gone way too far from the context of the discussion. True "combat" is to the death, and ANY two "fighters" can engage in this no matter what you study. Style may be sacrificed in moments when your life is on the line. Any demonstration is only a demo', and should be balanced and well choreographed.

@VikingRaider, You think so, it does not make it that way, that is only your opinon. Anyone can engage but if you are not prepared, you are not ready & your style is not created for battle then you wont have a chance to survive. A demo is to show what can be done & Aikido practitioners always want to show their skill against others, it is self defense against a people that do not have fighting skills, show me where any Aikido practitioner has been able to stand against real fighters & survived.

i don't know if you practise aikido but if you do you should have known that aikido is a defensive sport, so without a attacker there will be no winner

actually, to me "real" aikido avoids fights. I'll consider I've won if I've avoided the fight or defused the situation.

who knows. Master Ueshiba was very mysterious cause I read a story about him punking a Judo Champion on a subway. Master Ueshiba was barely 100lbs while the judo champ was in his 200. Maybe the Real aikido could done better. Who knows..

real aikido is serbian martial art. he is 10 dan Ueshiba Aikido but hi developed his own style

He surely has not received 10 dan from Aikikai Hombu dojo. Not that affiliation matters that much to me, but out of curiosity, who awarded it to him?

He did NOT recieve a diploma from Gozo Shioda Kancho. It was a training day open to everyone, he got a certificate to say he attended that class just like lots of other people that day.

In August 2002 the United States Martial Arts Association elected Vracarevic to its Hall of Fame and awarded him the title Grandmaster, black belt 10th dan, Sōke. This award is not recognized by any of the mainstream aikido organizations such as Aikikai and Yoshinkan.
but dont you recive 10 dan when you found an martial art? Im not sure, but if you INVENTED it, and every organisations accept it as an martial art, doesnt that mean that you are grandmaster of it? Its just my oppinion..

for starters not every organisation accepts him it's only him and the USMAA that accept his martial art as his own. as for Sōke: this only means Headmaster/Head of Family. is a Japanese term often used to indicate "headmaster" like a headmaster of a school. I hope this helps.

I just thought that there should be a grandmaster because he would do all thats nessesery to promote the art, but not having an rank does too make sence....
anyway, he has Shodan in judo and jujutsu and I think 5th or 6th dan in aikido.....and many bodyguards organisations teach real aikido as the best way to defeat your opponents....
