When my dad was younger, he lived in Campbeltown. Now, whenever we go up to see his parents - who still live there - we start singing this as soon as we turn the corner and get our first glimpse of the Loch. My brother and I have been singing this for years :D Great song, thanks for uploading - now I don't need to wait until my next visit to my grandparent's to sing this!!
this brings back memories of my beloved auntie maria who was born over in aurich, germany, got married to a scotsman and lived happily in haddington/east lothian until she passed away in december. i was lucky enough to visit the scottish part of the family several times and well remember all these lovely scottish classics like "a scottish soldier" and "campbeltown loch". may you rest in peace, dear auntie maria and uncle ian. you will be in my heart forever.
Thanks for this song! lost my grandad 10 years today! he used to sing this to me! and he took me there when i was 12, as i didnt belive him lol! great memories! thanks!
Great impersonations near the end..

Truly there is no finer song to accompany one or two or three or four or ten drams of a fine whisky!

Andy sings "slainte mhath" (good health) and not "slainte mhor" (great health). It's hard for those who perhaps may not speak Gaelic!
Awesome song, awesome singer. Brings back beautiful memories...thanks...tapadh leibh
