  • When my dad was younger, he lived in Campbeltown. Now, whenever we go up to see his parents - who still live there - we start singing this as soon as we turn the corner and get our first glimpse of the Loch. My brother and I have been singing this for years :D Great song, thanks for uploading - now I don't need to wait until my next visit to my grandparent's to sing this!!

  • this brings back memories of my beloved auntie maria who was born over in aurich, germany, got married to a scotsman and lived happily in haddington/east lothian until she passed away in december. i was lucky enough to visit the scottish part of the family several times and well remember all these lovely scottish classics like "a scottish soldier" and "campbeltown loch". may you rest in peace, dear auntie maria and uncle ian. you will be in my heart forever.
