@Guineapigsrock12 Internet Co. Ltd. have announced Gumi Extend. Apparently they'll improve pronounciation, and add more breath sounds. It's scheduled for release this year.

I prefer Internet Co. Ltds voicebanks to Crypton to be honest. Gakupo and Megpoid have such high quality. They're wonderful to work with.

Of the Vocaloid Videos on NND with over a million views, Miku has 30 out of 50. Closest to that is Kaito and Rin with 7 a piece.

She was also the very first vocaloid to have anime-look recognition by them (aside from the Kaito and Meiko Vocaloid 1 versions). And it's been some years before Gumi was released so..., even if she's more realistic, it seems she is not as famous as Miku. And now that you mentioned Append, well it could sure hype Miku more.
