  • I am Canadian actor Joy Warn who plays the blonde mother greeting her son returning from war at the end of the video. I say this so you know that I know what I am talking about. This video was shot at Fort Rodd Hill near Victoria, British Columbia, Canada not Calgary, Alberta as stated. Cheers, Joy

  • best friend of mine is a soldier....choke up everytime we sing this together.....this song is amazing

  • I hope they know that no matter what happens people are going to support everything they do!!!!!!

  • This was shot at Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Park in Victoria, British Columbia -not Calgary Alberta. The lighthouse featured is called Fisgard Lighthouse and one of the pipers is Pipe Major Roger McGuire of the Canadian Scottish Regiment, with his son. I don't recognize the older piper with the reddish kilt. I can't believe I turned down this gig!

  • awesome song....gay hair lol

  • aye i've got a claymore ere fur ye jimmy!!!!

  • funny

  • Aye yer no funny.

  • Im damm proud to be American!

  • needs more pipes

  • respect(cry)

  • song does make u wanna cry

  • Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Only problem was with the video recording...its too quiet!

  • i normally don't like this kind of music, but the tune is just fine.

the lyrics have a wonderful meaning.

they have great shots of pipers, to bad you only hear bagpipes for about 10 seconds, and in the begging of the song an Irish pipe rather then the scottish pipe is playing...just thought i should say that me being a piper and all.

  • woot for the aussie's. i got a bunch of friends in australia

  • Well done, good song mate. I really do cherish our friendship with AMERICA. Just rememeber us Aussies were right behind you..!! Well done Vets of all wars. Great Vid

  • And not just the soldiers, be thankful for the sacrifice made by their families. We often just think of the soldier, but behind every soldier is a family and they sacrifice just as much if not more. Speaking from experience, it really isn't hard to take risks that only impact yourself. It is a whole other thing to watch someone you care about take risks while you watch. I truly believe that if you defame a soldier or their families that you are the lowest scum on the planet.

  • I know its along time since you made this comment but you couldnt have said it better....I am in the Marines too

  • Hey me too, where you stationed?

  • I love this song. I am a soldier and this song really is a blessing. I hope the tears never flow down my mothers face because I died, but I am willing to lay my life down in a heart-beat if my sacrifice will help protect the country I love. I am also reminded of those who already died to protect us. I really don't care what your personal view point of the war in Iraq is, but please, be thankful that we have men and women who are willing to give all for freedom.

  • anyone that got the chords to this song? i would verry much like to have them and if you do i would apriciate it allot! pm me or something! beautiful song btw

  • Hey there TERRORIST, listen whether you are Canadian or not, You need to do a little more research on topics before you start making assumptions on things that you obviously have no idea whatsoever about. Got it. Thanks. Have a GREAT AMERICAN DAY. You can thank us any time!!!

  • beautiful song. i now like them.

oh, and sailor, shut the hell up. at least we are free unlike you canadian weiners. say, does your VFW say "veterains of one war" on it? screw you, we invented freedom, we're spreading it and you morons are jsut jealous.

  • well truly the canadians are doin the better job in iraq unlike the americans know a days they just go in there and just wanna shoot poeple but us canadians actually want peace and fucken americans are keeping poeple at guantnamo cuba for no reason and beating and shit and thats not patriortic to me srry guys

  • Hey there TERRORIST, listen whether you are Canadian or not, You need to do a little more research on topics before you start making assumptions on things that you obviously have no idea whatsoever about. Got it. Thanks. Have a GREAT AMERICAN DAY. You can thank us any time!!!

  • thank you for what exactly?

  • Your profile says you're from Costa Rica, I don't kno w if it's true but lol.

  • STFU , because we arnt PUSSIES you retard, we're not scared to die and take lives for freedom, dont get in AMERICA's , we'll send our Warriors after your asses, the more you kill of us the more it strengthen our resolve,1 life means that F*CKIN country is worth more than all the GOLD in the world dumbass

  • America's Way* sorry :)

  • I love this song. It gives me the chills. It makes it so that I cant wait till I turn 18 so I can join the army.

  • This song gives me chills

  • the bagpipes purpose for the last 300 hundred years has been to inspire and fire up troops at war or in battle. this gets forgotten and the bagpipe receives riddicule on tv, film and the general public - treated like a clowns prop.

This song/video may be a bit hollywood but goes some way to displaying the instrument's effect. If the bagpipe inspirits just one of our men over there then surely the instrument should be treated with the respect it is long overdue.

    a Scotsman and a Piper

  • Hi there. Have a favour to ask you, mate. I LOVE the sound of the pipes. Can you help me, by letting me in on the name of the 'piece' before the actual song starts? Bagpipes with the drums bit, I mean.

    Thanks heaps!

  • well the instrument used for this is actually the uillean pipes(irish) and have a completely different scale to the scottish bagpipe. so unfortunately i have no idea! sorry

  • "music steels the soul and incites men to great deeds"

    -herodotus

exactly. there's something extremely beautiful about the pipes, especialy linked to battle.

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some 1920's trading cards of musical instruments, including the bagpipes.

  • Awesome video!!! Very moving. Do they have an album??

  • A radio DJay deticated this song to my cousin the day he was buried. He died in Iraq, serving his country.

  • Awesome song.

  • Nice enough song, but not enough bagpipes for my taste.

  • Freedom costs a buck-oh-five.

  • I love this, God bless our troops and a huge thank you too to our Veterans!

  • Beautiful. As a man who loves the pipes, and knows some of the Ladies from Hell, it was/is a beautiful tribute. Shame not all are patriotic Americans.

  • i wll agree wi u on that 1 m8

  • Thanks from a old highland Infantryman! The bagpipes are something that connects the western miltary! There is a resean that their belong on the field when freedom is fought for!!!

  • First time I ever saw it, or heard of it... I loved it! Thank you for sharing it.

  • This is a great tribute to our veterans and those who are dying right now for our freedom.

  • Great tribute to the men who fight and die every day to keep us safe and protected. God bless the American fighting man!

  • sappy, cheesy, simplistic, yuck !

  • Being a bagpiper player myself, this is a fine tribute to what the song stands for.

  • i suggest if you don't like this video you can just shut up.

  • Where does it say I can't express my opinion. Perhaps YOU, should be the one who needs to shut up.

  • Postie1, You don't want to run into me in some deserted street sucker. If you haven't walked down the long, dark road just pack up your 'tude and take a hike!

  • Oh brother !! You scare me, LOL !!!

  • Sadly, those of us who DID walk down that, "Long, dark road." didn't have the option to pick and choose who the individuals would be that reaped the benefits. Even cowardly idiots like Postie are free to hide behind their anonymity for the sole purpose of instigating emotional responses. Sometimes that scares ME!

  • Hmm, I criticized the cheesy CW tune, and you insult and threaten me. I criticized nothing more, not you or anyone else. BTW, I had 18 months in Nam in 71-72. Before you call anyone coward, be sure of who your talking to chum. If your scared, perhaps you need to look at your idea of freedom, or lack of it, Pal.
