Timing belts bring down rotating mass and friction. Even though your 3VZ sucks on fuel mileage this is a major reason for the timing belt. 22RE's do have lots of timing chain issues being the long guide frequently breaks. Just so you know your 3VZ is not an interference engine. Meaning, if the T-belt breaks your engine will be fine! You just have to install a new belt.
