  • Please, can anybody tell be where this "All In Your Mind" audio at 5:26 comes from?

  • omg her vocal range is crazy

  • at 0:53 she looks like morph from art attack

  • This is a video about Mariah Carey so you shouldn't be mentioning any other artist ! If you wanna praise them go to their VIDEOS !

  • The low notes aren't particularly good... they're barely above a whisper... I'll stick to Sarah Vaughan and Amy Winehouse for my low notes, they're actually audible xD

  • question to you guys- can you build up a better voice or are you just born with a certain vocal range?

  • i think she can swim and talking with dolphins

  • Beautiful voice. But her whistle register is annoying sometimes, it doesn't always fit in with the song.

  • @scr1231 it always fits she writes the songs around her voice so her voice fits perfect with the melody and rythm and just eveything and when she does a cover she changes it to fit her voice tht why she is the best and prefers to write her songs as well putting her own life exp into them, and to show off her voice

  • Women don't have falsetto. We have chest voice, head voice, and whistle tone. I am impressed by her whistle tone though. That is insane.

  • She's unnatural

  • Mariah can sing notes so high that she makes birds jealous.

  • isn't the Eb6 still a falsetto?

  • omfg. that's crazy. awesome!

  • I find it amazing how only a third of the time in and it's already her falsetto- she's amazing

  • 0:44- Yours, Today Show 2002

0:50- Vision of Love, BET Blueprint 2005

1:33- Fly Like a Bird, Idol Gives Back 2008

  • all i wanna say is : " DAYUM "

  • what song is 0:44 y 0:50 y 1:33 pliss

  • Mariah has the most highest clearest range I've ever heard. I'm must say she untouchable. Her octaves is remarkable. Keep it up because this is not easy and she does it continuely throughout her songs. Wow! WOW! WOW!!!!

  • omg c#6 falsetto was hecka long

  • @osnapplez LOOLOL its endless =P

  • wth stop commenting and listen to her voice.

  • i'm not really a fan of Mariah, but wow... i'm speechless

her vocals are... wow. i dont know what to say

  • its not her high notes that I love its her low notes she clould have just went into her high notes and made it far but her low register is just as amazing

  • Shes gonna break something..... like rip something there at the end o.o

  • what song at 2:50? please tell me ... contact me shadowman1065@yahoo.com;)

  • Has she hit A5 or above in full voice?

  • i like a vocal range of Cheat G5 ,Falsetto Bb 5 ,Whistle Eb 7 ^^

  • Im G#2 to G#5 in mixed voice

but can only whistle as high as F6...so frustrating. Except sometimes in the mornings and when im sick I can go higher.

  • 3:46 LIKE A G6

  • No christina is not the voice of the generation, It was and always will be MARIAH

  • @zblamm2121 mariah and xtina are in completely different generations lol xtina's the voice of this generation(2000s) and mc's the voice of her generation(90s)

  • @ablackguy123456789 ... emancipation of MIMI? E=MC2....moaia?....her new christmas albulm.. AND she is working on a new albulm.. NO mariah is the voice of the millineum..OF ALL TIME

  • @zblamm2121 ok well if we're going by that logic, that means aretha(who's better than both of them) is the voice of the 90s and the 2000s generation

  • @ablackguy123456789 ....has she made any music for the last two decades...that people actually listened to??

  • @zblamm2121 -_____- it's always SOMETHING with you mc fans...i thought we were just talking about who's vocal better at the moment not who's more successful. but still, xtina is the voice of the 2000s generation because mariah is simply too old to be considered a part of that generation. accept it and move on.

  • @ablackguy123456789 Just because Mariah is too old to be considered in this generation doesn't suddenly make Christina the voice of this generation, lol. There are so many singers from the 2000s that are lightyears ahead of her vocally, musically and technically (Amy Winehouse, Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Bjork, Yolanda Adams, Amy Lee, Shakira, Natasha Bedingfield, Anggun, Nicole Scherzinger, P!nk, JoJo, Tiffany Evans and Amber Riley to name a few of a long, long list.)

  • @Snookiiiii lol tinaford opened a new account i see...kelly, pink, shakira, and bey could maybe go for that title but the rest..no. amy winehouse was more famous for her drug problem than her singing until she died. yolanda adams is a gospel singer so she's not mainstream enough to be called the voice of a generation. nicole, amy lee, jojo, natasha, tiffany, and anggun aren't relevant enough. amber is in a different generation than xtina.

  • @ablackguy123456789 o.O Lol.. Someone's paranoid. Anyway, what made Amy Winehouse rise to fan and gain massive popularity was her voice, not her drug use. "Back To Black" sold almost 20 million albums altogether, and people even went back to her 2003 released album to buy it because they loved her voice. Just people some people knew her because of drug use doesn't change the fact that her voice and the soul she carried with it was extroadinary.

  • @ablackguy123456789 Relevance doesn't play a part in saying whether someone is the voice of the generation. That's like someone saying Rihanna has a better voice than Yolanda Adams just because she is more relevant in the music world. If it was judged by relevance alone Christina wouldn't even be considered in the vocal trinity, as her career ended in 2008. #OPPS

Relevance doesn't change the fact that all the people I listed are 100 times the musicians Christina will ever be.

  • @Snookiiiii maybe relevant was the wrong word but xtina is the most well known for her SINGING. she gets a lot of praise for her vocals and she's gotten pretty high ranks on quite a few different countdowns/lists like on mtv and in rolling stone/cove magazines. i'm not saying that automatically makes her better than all those singers you listed(although imo she's vocally superior to everyone of them except yolanda) but her singing is the most iconic of today which is why she's the VOG

  • @ablackguy123456789 Praise has nothing to do with being having a good voice. All the listed people have been praised by others. Those lists mean nothing either, and the only reason why she was listed so high was because of her popularity way back in 2003, which is now gone. And LMAO, there's nothing vocally superior about foggy, unsupported low notes, disconnected falsettos and somebody who can't even belt an unstrained b4. Having a pretty tone is good, but it doesn't take away all the let backs-

  • @ablackguy123456789 -Christina's voice has,and it doesn't make her even THE SLIGHTEST bit better than any of the singers I listed.Even if she was soo iconic then why has she had only 2 hit records, and the last 3 have FLOPPED in record sales? Being iconic because of your singer doesn't make you a good singer either. Christina has never been a good vocalist, a good musician, or a good technical singer. She will also never be a quarter of what KC, BK, AW, AD and the others have given us.#DISMISSED

  • @Snookiiiii lol you're obviously one of those people who likes to shove their opinions down other people's throats. all i was saying is that xtina's called the VOG because she is the most iconic singer of the 2000s generation i wasn't trying to start an argument about who's actually a better singer because that's all up to opinion. i think xtina's the best singer of this generation if you think differently, that's great.

  • @ablackguy123456789 #LOL well, I can correct anybody's opinion if I want to and/or if it's CLEARLY false. Bye x

  • @ablackguy123456789 uhm how could christina be the voice, when she can hardly belt a note properly...Mariah is STILL the VOICE, and just keeps proving it while christina is struggling now more than ever....you HAVE to be out of your mind if you actually believe christina can sing better, or write better..or hell anything better than mariah.. MARIAH is the best NOW YOU ACCEPT IT BITCHHHH!!!

  • @zblamm2121 you need to learn to read because i at no time said christina was better than mc. the whole time we were arguing i was saying that even though mc sings better than xtina currently, she's not in the same generation because their careers are 10 years apart. but anyway i was kind of over this a couple of days ago so goodbye!

  • @ablackguy123456789 but the thing is...mariah STILL has a career!!!!!

  • @zblamm2121 mc and xtina's careers are about the same level right now. neither one has released any solo work since 2010 and both of their latest studio albums flopped. but like i said, i'm over it.

  • @zblamm2121 they're diff generations...

  • @telepathic666 not reallly considering mariah is STILL making music

  • @zblamm2121 generation has to do with when they were born not if they are putting out hits

  • @telepathic666 Great fucking great, then just let me say this Mariah is 10000000 times better then Xtina, and i don't give a shit what generation it is

  • @zblamm2121 And that is an opinion a very rude one, music isn't about better it's about what makes you feel good, I love them both but personally lean toward Christina, Mariah has a great voice but that doesn't mean dis other singers because you think she is better especially since we don't know them on a personal level

  • @telepathic666 ok well Mariah makes me feel fucking great, and xtina makes me flinch whenever i hear her screaming so fuck her and fuck you too

  • @zblamm2121 wow a limited vocabulary and none of that is necessary.

  • @telepathic666 is it now? lol screamtina sucks move on

  • @zblamm2121 it stopped being about her when you said F*** me

  • @telepathic666 well then.......fuck the both of you?

  • I really think that besides her higher registers, her lower ones are equally amazing. I'm a boy (18 almost 19) so I guess I'm almost at my prime, I have a 4 octave range ( weak F2, G2 - E6, weak F6) and that's as high as I can go. I'm not as fascinated about her whistle as I am with her lower register, because well, she's a girl and if a man can do a bit of that whistle then she must be able to beat him. haha I'm happy that I still beat Mariah with lower register tho.. haha.

  • @KEVINtingzon93 In studio she's gone down to E2.

  • @Snookiiiii really?? well I guess that's easy because it's in studio,. I can rech E2 at times but not constantly or always. sometimes I can go higher than F6 but it is at a very good day and I even get surprised about it.

  • 4:25 :| HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy cow! What an amazing range!

  • falsetto bulshitt -.-

  • SOL SEVEN DIEZ ... OHHH MYYY FUKING GOOOOOD ...

  • belting is good. but cannot hear them always. love more beautiful songs than this.

  • OMG.....:O:O LOL It has a lovely voice .... it really is not that strong upper chest, but that D6 is WOW: O: O: O LOL ..... I do singing for years ... I have very strong voice ... but I would cover if they duet instead be doing everything you can do it in Whistle and I ... that is about all except that C # 7 and G # 7 ... OMG love you with all Bravo Mariah ...:) (i`m a boy and i have 16 years:D)

  • oh myyyyyyyyyyyyyy :)) WE LOVE YOU MARIAH!!!!!!!!!!

  • Someone has stolen this video as his belted notes comparison..

    Check the video, watch?v=ZYVf9sc4ReY ( #XTINASDISCIPLE Channel)

  • @aangcarey not surprised -.-

  • Someone has stolen this video as his belted notes comparison..

    Check the video, watch?v=ZYVf9sc4ReY ( #XTINASDISCIPLE Channel)

  • I wonder if she ever tried to break a glass with her voice

  • MARIAH IS A VOCAL GODDESS

her technique is flawless and unlike christina and beyonce her voice isn't harsh and unpleasant even when she hits those higher notes

FOR ME NOONE IN MAINSTREAM MUSIC WILL EVER BE AS GOOD A SINGER AS MARIAH CAREY

  • Mariah Carey is amazing in her lower, falsetto, and whistle register but her upper chest is not powerful like Christina Aguilera & Whitney Houston. my opinion

  • @wwejohncena i'll take that as a joke LOL

  • You know what is the best part?!?!? That her technique was that amazing that she could belt without a lil sign of strain!!

  • I think that when you're discussing Mariah, Whitney, Aretha and many other (not beyonce), is just a matter of taste. They are all fantastic in different ways.

  • oh man, imagine having sex with her...

    oh yeahh ;)

    ahhhhh ahhhhhh

  • Bloody hell... I've heard about her massive vocal range but I never found out how ridiculously high she can get. What's more is that I'd never really believed anything I was told, but I've never actually listened to her sing high before. Whoa!! I'm a singer and can sing C3-C7 and I thought that was high but her whistle range up in the E-G7s is just phenomenal!!!

  • what song at 5:34??

  • @0rsoBartholomew --that song is All In Your Mind

  • SPEECHLESS :O OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whats the song she is singing at 3:40 and hitting the fsharp 6???

  • amazing! but some of the songs are lipped! she was good like the first 8 years and now she auto tones her musics. still like her though

  • Her range is truly impressive but it doesn't make her automatically have the greatest voice.... her voice and especially vibrato doesn't even come close to someone like Barbra Streisand ( when she was young).... going extremely high is a crazy talent but doesn't make her the greatest singer.

  • @stevesg92 yeah you're right, it doesn't make her a great singer, but hey you know what??? she is a great singer though!! that's why she has a very succesful carreer and a lot of fans!!!

  • @stevesg92 Vibrato? Are you kidding? Just listen to her Emotions on the first straight whistle. She whistles with airy and high quality whistle with vibrato. You don't know what you're saying. XD

  • @MeAsOmnipotent Ok Clearly you are blind.... I can't even believe I'm discussing Mariah and Barbra Streisand... it's appalling...You're telling me that Mariah Carey is a better singer than Barbra Streisand? That is a joke... Barbra is seen as perhaps the greatest and most talented performer and singer ever and here we are discussing "Mariah" smh...... you're probably 20 years old or something...

  • @stevesg92 Here's a perfect example... you think mariah is the greatest in every aspect with reference to singing... most powerful, greatest range ( yes true) etc..... when she sang with Aretha Franklin in that Diva's Live thing... Franklin's voice trumped Mariah's.... it's the power behind Franklin's vocals... same thing with Streisand... at her best she could trump even Franklin.... she even sounded black on some albums because of her extraordinarily powerful voice.

  • @stevesg92 Not with Aretha. I know they are great artists. I respect them actually, but never compare Mariah's vocal. You're comparing Aretha's thin voice to Mariah? OMG

  • Comment removed

  • @ernest671 Who is Yma Sumac? Are you Kidding? Hahaha! You mean He/She can sing C0 to C5?? Hahaha! She's not as famous as Mariah as famousness is gain by a talented person, therefore she's/he's not talented. LOLs.

Yes, she's a vocal monster who only knows how to sing in chest voice and really need to scream her very THIN voice and Mariah is a vocal master. :DD

  • @ernest671 No...Yma Sumac is actually one of the main proponents of whistle register in the early 19th century. Get your facts straight.

  • you are such a genius

  • Comment removed

  • @ernest671 Yes, she has.

  • @ernest671 yes she did, in Chuncho i think, she hit C7

  • @stevesg92 LOL.. We're talking here for the greatest singer, not as an artist. Not by their influence, not by their personality. We're talking here about the techniques that she possesses. If you're pointing the vibrato thing, give me something to compare to the last part of the song Joy Ride. Tell me who sings with quality.

  • If she was my girl id cut her head off through love

  • 1:25 ~ 1:30 what is the song?

  • @talisson130 underneath the stars

  • @RaciouS91 Thank you!

  • omfg

  • The original bird singers were Mado Robin, Erna Sack and Yma Sumac (who was the first singer in history with 5 octaves of vocal range).

Then was Minnie Ripperton, and now we have Mrs. Carey

  • man, that was AMAZING lol... i've never realized how high she could actually go.... awesome

  • correction: i was supposed to write "d5" and "e5"

  • i dn't understand the "eb5" is that basically the black key that comes between A4 and B4 on the piano... why isn't it called E#5... sorry i must sound really stupid i know nothing about the music scale lol

  • @sheru7mera7naam007 "Eb5" comes between "D5" and "E5". "b" means "flat" (lower) and "#" means "sharp" (higher). Always write capital letters otherwise Bb looks like bb! For everything you need to know, here's the scale for octave 3 (for other octaves just change the number!), each note separated by |

    C3 | C#3 (or Db3) | D3 | D#3 (or Eb3) | E3 | F3 | F#3 (or Gb3) | G3 | G#3 (or Ab3) | A3 | A#3 (or Bb3) | B3 for a visual look google image "piano keyboard" - 3rd row down. Any questions?

  • @PhilipOMeara that's great! you explained everything very clearly so no further questions; thanks for the detailed reponse

  • how come u missed out the the B4 Bb4's in the belts

  • holy shit. her whistle range voice sounds like a tweeting bird!

  • this was one of the first mariah vocal range videos i watched it really inspired me so i learned and taught myself now i cant tell alot by ear than using a piano lol

  • fucking amazing

  • where can i find the performance with her C#6?

  • She's not human O_o

  • Ôi hát tời nốt G luôn kìa kinh quá!

  • what song was the b5 i kinda forgot it and i want it back on my iphone

  • @jacobgLeelover123 I think it is Subtle Invitation but I'm not sure.

  • @rekupp tnx a lot :)))))) now i remember i think its from charmbracelet

  • I don't mean to knock the owner of this video, but the examples you used here are HORRIBLE. You could have picked better low note, belting, falsetto, and high note videos for all of these. For example, you used the slide of her high note from "never too far/hero medley" but it was the weak one. You should have used the one from her special "Home for the holidays".

  • 4:40 ??

  • @yigitecer it's 'bringing on the heartbreak'

  • @yigitecer it's an advertisement made by mariah on MTV, no song just a whistle run

  • what's song here 2.05 (Eb6) ??

  • Seriously her voice is really rare.

Is her mother a Dolphin Goddess?

  • Wow.

  • Woaw unbelievable

  • she's obviously part dolphin

  • @acehobojoe looool

  • @acehobojoe

    ROFL

  • @acehobojoe love this comment... it got me cracking up at work. Thanks for making me laugh.

  • @acehobojoe love this comment... it got me cracking up at work. Thanks for making me laugh. the very last belt was kinda scary... that a human can do such a thing..

  • @acehobojoe Now I cant stop laughing while watching this! :P

  • @acehobojoe bahahahahhahaa. even im a man, i cant hit her low voice note

  • @acehobojoe lmaolololol

  • wow

  • 2:05 sounded more like an A5 in full chest.

  • Does anyone else have a 5octave vocal range?

  • @HB3ZZY Mihai Trăistariu from Romania has.

  • @HB3ZZY Honestly range doesn't matter it's how you use it, Georgia Brown has an 8 octave range but she sounds like crap in my opinion

  • @HB3ZZY minnie riperton had a 5 octave range

  • I love her G#7 soooo much!

  • sorry, I'm not a mariah fan at all or anything, but I think i need my ears checked. Every time i listen to that note C#6 at 2:36 I only hear "SLAAYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEDDDD" .

Is this a normal thing that mariah fans experience?

  • woah where is that dont play that song from? thats not the one from the first vision, where was that?

  • mariah carey voice can not be denied the great and powerful and in Malaysia there is also a voice artist like him.

  • The whistle register just blowns me off. I've never heard someone doing that. Except girls screaming in concerts...

  • HOLY CRAP

  • I can hit a D7 and thats as high as i can go :))

  • i would love to sing that high

  • AMAZING MARIAH ALWAYS IMITATED BUT NEVER DUPLICATED!! LOVE IT!!

  • What interview is her G#2 from?

  • @mAnNyElLaTiNo33 Kiis FM, 2008? It was a promotional interview for E=MC2

  • @rekupp I already got it thank you anyways though :)

  • what the hell, this is crazy

  • awsome

  • Her range is bigger than my penis.

  • Why did you skip the entire fourth octaves? She has hit those notes.

  • @rekupp Most skip them because that's their regular range and don't usually need to show that.

  • Omg, that's amazing!

I wonder how she perfected whistling like that, it looks really challenging. Yet she is able to do it effortlessly. She is one in a million. What a talent!

  • wooooooooooooooow

  • sorry, what is her C3 song???????

    Please tell me

  • Wow...

    That's 3 octaves.

    I can hit 4.

Fucking liars saying she can hit 5!

  • @phantomzyrus Bb2 to G#7

if u know how to count, this is 4 octives plus 10 semi-tones,

not 3 octaves u dumb ass.

  • @hugong3c Well, maybe I should learn how to count that stuff then...

  • it higher the note, i had to turn the volume down cuz it hurted my ears

  • Comment removed

  • can some one explain the octave voice range to me whats high and low

  • @MsTreysongz1 well it's like the alphabet, each note after its higher. so G#2 is the lowest she can go and G#7 is the highest she can go. i can't explain fully, but go to a guy name westvoice's channel and you'll find out more:)

  • oh my G#7 O_O

  • WHAT SINGER FROM THIS AGE CAN OUTSIDE MARIAH!!!!!?????????????......NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK A DAMN BEYONCE AND ANYONE WHO EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT HER WHEN READIN THIS COMMENT CUZ BEYONCE AINT SHIT TO MARIAH! OR CHRISTINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • woo yeah i can do the same! just a couple of notes lower both sides :)

    woo!

  • damn, that girl's a bird-or at least she ate one :D

  • u really made laugh!!!:):)

  • Hey where can i fine the first audio clips on here
