Dream Theater are putting the commenters to shame here really. Five of the most capable musicians in the world, but they've chosen to cover a U2 song out of respect despite this. It's a great cover, and as a long-time a devoted U2 fan this isn't something I often say. The hate on Youtube is just disgusting to read.

I think that both versions have a lot in common, however each band stamped their influence on this song. Dream Theater version is more spicy and has heavier guitar when U2's one is more impressionist and blurred, just like whole album.
