This amp is awesome and the overdrive doesn't suck at all, remember you can just go and buy an effect pedal for overdrive if you're not happy with the on-board overdrive effect, or the way it sounds, this amp incredible, this Amp is totally worth it for the money. sounds just like the big dollar ones.
@mrmegaguitarplayer The MG100FX is the newer model, which has replaced the MG100DFX, some people prefer them, but they're only cheaper 'cos you can only really get them second hand now, as the MG100DFX is a discontinued product.

@mrmegaguitarplayer The newer model does have some cool features, whilst it only has one eq band, you can store your eq settings to each of the four channels (Clean, Crunch, OD1 & OD2), so you can essentially have a different eq set-up for each channel.
Also, unlike the older model, the new MG allows you to independently add effects to each channel, so for example, you can have a clean sound with effects and then an overdrive channel with no effects.
The amp is nice as hell. But the cabinet is just plain out SHIT. Seriously, they NEED to include a much better cab. Even if they raise the price it doesn't matter as long as they just throw a better cab in there. I ran some tests with my amplifier and the sound from the pedal I run is BEAST. The sound from the amplifier through headphones is also nice. However, the sound with Ped>Amp>Cab sucks so bad. It's noisy and unclean. Do not get the combo. Get the top and buy a nice cab for it.
if u have to buy a pedal get a different amp. best tone comes from guitar to amp....Nothing in between.
