Marijauna should be legal for any type of use but not legalizing it for medical use is cruel. Marijuana is an outstanding medicine. It relieves all forms of pain on its own, it amplifies opiates, it restores appetite, it surpresses nausea, it alleviates anxiety and depression and it can be helpful because it masks withdrawal symptoms from hard drugs so it makes it easier for people to quit opiates and cocaine. It also can be used in lieu of alcohol and less alcohol consumption has many benefits.

What he meant is that marijuana is a Schedule I drug, meaning it is a controlled substance that is considered to have no medicinal uses. Cocaine is a Schedule II drug because it is used in some local anesthetics.

As for balance, this special reflects John Stossel's beliefs and isn't intended to be objective. It's a welcome sight, because even news reports that attempt to balance the liberal and conservative perspectives almost never include the libertarian position on many issues.
