  • You didn't adust the float.

  • nice explained Thanks

  • mate your cool...but...i cant concentrate with the music, and it would be great if you could edit in some close up work of re-assembly..also a vid on taking it all apart? sorry if this seems negative, but i reckon your the man with this -you just need to edit your vids better-many thanks for posting though

  • thanks for thewideo man it was just what i needed

  • Nice, but we missed adjusting the float. My lady friends 95 sportster is leaking fuel out of the overflow tube, I will have to use your guide to take off the bowl and clean things up. I should check the float adjustment but don't know what it might be and how to measure that might be. Thanks so much for the great vid!

  • @gavinabcdefghi try using needle nose vise grips

  • Thank!

  • My friend said I had to checkout your video

  • Great video..thanks. it would be nice if you zoomed in a little more so we could see exactly what your doing or video in HI DEF..again thanks..I am going to fix my carb this morning...started pissing fuel last night . This video is a BIG help !!

  • thanks for an informative video but as said before the music over the top was a bad idea!

  • thank you!

I was freakin out...cause I thought it was super complex...

  • Very nice video, informative and have a lot of trust if you can see a mature guy explaining rather than a teen explaining this..

  • @jiehad82 hey that teen is a factory back supercross tech so have way more exp then u bud!

  • ARGH, kill that background music, good clip otherwise.

  • If it wasn't for the music and lack of close up shots, this could have been an excellent video, unfortunately I can only give this video an average rating.

  • this vid is for 4 cycle engine carbs

  • this vid for 4 cycle engine carbs

  • epic :)

  • Very cool

  • Good video but could really do without the music. Rock and informative videos don't mix.

  • Cut the music

  • @maxime1989 jes they should cut the musik !!

  • The music was kinda distracting and a close-up on the carb couldn't hurt either, other than that very informative.

  • very good video, looking to buy a bike with carb problems, simplified

  • whats the needle jet do i kno wat the main and piolot do already

  • My scooter runs on a very similar carb and having some problems it keeps sputtering when it comes to a stop and goes to idle.

I cleaned al lthe carbs out and changed my rollers but it still does it.

I check the spark plug and it was covered in black ash so think might be too much fuel is there a way of adusting this?

  • It needs a smaller main jet for less fuel

  • @londontrialscat check the coil I had a similar problem on my dirt bike...you might not be getting enough spark.

  • excellent video!

  • great video

  • Hello there I just have a quick question. Can you use a float from a sportster 02 1200 on a kawasaki vulcan 1500. I know a lot of parts fit as they are the same carbs. Please let me know.

    thank you

  • if it looks the same and fits, then yes chances are you can use it.

  • Great informative video!

  • Very cool video. I've always been afraid of taking my carburetor apart because they seemed so complex when I looked at "exploded views." This video really clears things up though- thanks.

  • mine doesnt have an accelerator pump, but everything else is the same, they are kehin cv carbs

  • excellent video.

I cleaned my kawasaki ex500 carbs but than it started leaking fuel from the float bowls and air mixture screw holes.

so I bought a rebuild kit and will try that, but it could also be my float adjustment right? I dont know how to adjust the floats.

  • on the float somewhere will be something that pushes onto the needle valve, this bit will be adjustable, probably a tang, which you can bend up or down, too big a gap and itll starve of fuel, too little and itll flood, check about 28mm as reference point.

  • WOW!!, this is the best video, thx for u help. Somebody know about scooter carburetor?

  • How do tell if the diaphram has went bad?

1998 FXD, going down the road bike fills like its trying to choke out with out the choke ingaged. Exspecially in cold weather.

  • @hillside288

My guess would be, that if you know your carbs been cleaned out..and your bikes acting up, fuel wise, its probably gone bad. Of course check your fuel filters/lines to make sure there not clogged with something.

  • Brilliant, I'm installing new diaphragms on my Virago this weekend, now I know how to put them in properly. Thanks

  • kill that damn music. good vid though.

  • I keep getting a fuel leak,Ive changed all the gaskets and o rings (its a metric bike)and still fuel leaking from somewhere, HOPEFULLY THIS IS THE FREAKING ANSWER!!! THANKS BRUTHA!

  • AMAZING!, Just god dam helpful! I would pay for videos like this.

  • why did u disable the rating...you would have had 5/5 for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!.....Anyway, awesome, proffesional video! Thanks

  • EXCELLENT

  • AWESOME VIDEO

  • Thanks for your help. It made it much easier for me to disassemble, clean and re-assemble mine.

  • Hi, and Thanks a million for the excelllent step by step instruction. I have a small 4stroke Vespa, but the carb is obviously very similar. Cleaned it today, and had great support from youshot to make sure it came together correctly. Thanks again, Hans

  • very useful, great commentry!! 5 stars

  • Good video, very helpful

  • effing video operator, ... freaken zoom in when he is giving details... uuh!

  • Wow, what a great informative video. Thanks for explaining all the different parts and their assembly. I wish all reapir videos were as good as this one. Keep cranking them out!

  • What an excellent video to demonstrate the ins and outs of Carbs. It gave me the confidence to tackle my own carbs on my 1983 Honda Shadow VT750. Thanks for "breaking it down".

    Dave

  • great video. very informative

  • isnt there suposed to be a brass piece that goes in behind that plastic "spring holder"

  • micro fiber cloth is AWESOME IN THIS APPLICATION + compressed air

  • You really simplify this seemingly impossible machine. All that stuff about the float needle is what was wrong with mine. I fixed th gas leaking problem with your video and a can of carb cleaner..Thanks Dean

  • nice video

  • Great work. I need to take my carb apart at sometime soon. I will make sure to make reference to your video to ensure that I am doing it right. I know that this may sound lame, but how about a video showing how to replace and adjust the throttle cable?

  • Thanks very helpful vid!
