mate your cool...but...i cant concentrate with the music, and it would be great if you could edit in some close up work of re-assembly..also a vid on taking it all apart? sorry if this seems negative, but i reckon your the man with this -you just need to edit your vids better-many thanks for posting though
Nice, but we missed adjusting the float. My lady friends 95 sportster is leaking fuel out of the overflow tube, I will have to use your guide to take off the bowl and clean things up. I should check the float adjustment but don't know what it might be and how to measure that might be. Thanks so much for the great vid!
Hello friends, I have a problem with my carburetor- heritage softail 1990 model. By turning on the gas tank of petrol goes through the filter and the small end of the bottom of the carburetor. What part of the carburetor I have to check? thank you very much. My mail radarsl@hotmail.com (sorry my enghlis)
Great video..thanks. it would be nice if you zoomed in a little more so we could see exactly what your doing or video in HI DEF..again thanks..I am going to fix my carb this morning...started pissing fuel last night . This video is a BIG help !!
If it wasn't for the music and lack of close up shots, this could have been an excellent video, unfortunately I can only give this video an average rating.
can anyone tell me do you have the carbs rebalanced after you have cleaned them ? im looking to do my carbs on my yamaha thundercat 600r soon. as the weather is getting better for biking.:) iv never done any work on the carbs before but im sure i can do them they dont look too hard.
Hello there I just have a quick question. Can you use a float from a sportster 02 1200 on a kawasaki vulcan 1500. I know a lot of parts fit as they are the same carbs. Please let me know.
Very cool video. I've always been afraid of taking my carburetor apart because they seemed so complex when I looked at "exploded views." This video really clears things up though- thanks.
on the float somewhere will be something that pushes onto the needle valve, this bit will be adjustable, probably a tang, which you can bend up or down, too big a gap and itll starve of fuel, too little and itll flood, check about 28mm as reference point.
My guess would be, that if you know your carbs been cleaned out..and your bikes acting up, fuel wise, its probably gone bad. Of course check your fuel filters/lines to make sure there not clogged with something.
I keep getting a fuel leak,Ive changed all the gaskets and o rings (its a metric bike)and still fuel leaking from somewhere, HOPEFULLY THIS IS THE FREAKING ANSWER!!! THANKS BRUTHA!
Hi, and Thanks a million for the excelllent step by step instruction. I have a small 4stroke Vespa, but the carb is obviously very similar. Cleaned it today, and had great support from youshot to make sure it came together correctly. Thanks again, Hans
Wow, what a great informative video. Thanks for explaining all the different parts and their assembly. I wish all reapir videos were as good as this one. Keep cranking them out!
What an excellent video to demonstrate the ins and outs of Carbs. It gave me the confidence to tackle my own carbs on my 1983 Honda Shadow VT750. Thanks for "breaking it down".
You really simplify this seemingly impossible machine. All that stuff about the float needle is what was wrong with mine. I fixed th gas leaking problem with your video and a can of carb cleaner..Thanks Dean
Great work. I need to take my carb apart at sometime soon. I will make sure to make reference to your video to ensure that I am doing it right. I know that this may sound lame, but how about a video showing how to replace and adjust the throttle cable?
You didn't adust the float.

The music was kinda distracting and a close-up on the carb couldn't hurt either, other than that very informative.

whats the needle jet do i kno wat the main and piolot do already
motorider29 2 years ago
My scooter runs on a very similar carb and having some problems it keeps sputtering when it comes to a stop and goes to idle.
I cleaned al lthe carbs out and changed my rollers but it still does it.
I check the spark plug and it was covered in black ash so think might be too much fuel is there a way of adusting this?
londontrialscat 2 years ago
It needs a smaller main jet for less fuel
steveak93 1 year ago
@londontrialscat check the coil I had a similar problem on my dirt bike...you might not be getting enough spark.

excellent video.
I cleaned my kawasaki ex500 carbs but than it started leaking fuel from the float bowls and air mixture screw holes.
so I bought a rebuild kit and will try that, but it could also be my float adjustment right? I dont know how to adjust the floats.
mjfan123085 2 years ago
