hi viper keeper i have a female Bungarus fasciatus, i would be interested in trading or sale. if u are interested my mail is jonathanaaATliveDOTcom. thanks Jonathan.
hey viperkeeper. i was wondering. if you get a male and female of a generally popular snake breed(ball python for example) would breeding the two be a good source of a little extra cash? thanks, pane36
you have a super cool collection of venemous snakes im from mexico and i have a collection too incluiding burmes retic balls and venemous like a naja kaothia female and a albino male gabys rattlesnakes endemics and a albino atrox . i love that mamba i hope get one for my project of a snake exibition greatting
I NEVER bother them at night !! Knowing what I know about their venom. I truly respect Pre-synaptic neurotoxins. Once they bind to the synaptic end terminus, It's fried! You have to grow a new one (takes months if ever) to regain that function.
Didn't know it took that long!!!!, only read about it in a book by Mark O'Shea - (who seems to get bitten loads, but not by a Krait (yet)), who says a couple of days artificial ventilation and the old acetylcholine starts flowing again.
For what its worth, I have an old friend who grew up in India who fears Kraits more than anything else, guess he kows a lot more than Mark O'Shea LOL!!
What is the purpose of having all the venomous snakes? Do you use them to make anti-venom, or are you just conducting research? Either way, you have a cool job. Dangerous, but neat.
I never thought of mamba heads as coffins until i read about in a book, and it actually made me shiver thinking about it! Kudos on the krait, i dont think i have ever seen someone with one in a private or public collection. Although in my opinion the only krait more prettier is the banded sea krait.
thanks for the reply i dont keep snakes myself but keep spiders i will keep watching your vids the only snake we have in this cuontry is the adder many thanks very interesting
Thats awsome, when i used to live in SA my father used to have a Cape Cobra, gaboon viper and a few puff adders but we got rid of the cobra and gabbie as they were getting difficult to handle. We kept the puff adders as they were easier to handle. I love gabbies tho
I can't say because I've only seen one live M. bivirgata and it was a baby. One problem with these are you're dead if you get envenomated, no A/V currently works.
I'd just like to thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I've been watching since "more fun with spitters" and have found them to be both educational and entertaining.
Hi, Al. You are right, kraits are some of the most beautiful snakes in the world, but have seen a red headed krait (bungarus flaviceps). It truly is a magnificent snake, very beautiful. If possible, could you do a video about one?
Great videos man. I don't know much about snakes but I've always been fascinated by them. Have you ever met a Russel's Viper? I hear they're quite difficult in captivity.
I was wondering what you feed your banded krait? I know these are often times very finicky eaters and was curious if yours was an exception since it's a good sized captive? You keep many beautiful snakes in your collection.
I've got the same bottle of DeFlea... how do you like it Al? I've only had one experience with mites (on an Albino Burm) and we were able to clear them out pretty easily with regular baths and intense removal. Took about 2 weeks to clear from thousands... He's healthy and about 10 ft now tho! First comment!
That Krait is my favorite snake that you have ever featured. Previous to the Krait, my favorite was the Trans-Pecos Copperheads. I would just like to says thanks for providing these videos. I watch them every day on my lunch break. Thanks Al!
:) its good job your very cool while handling the black mamba, other whys hed give you a little quick nip if you have reah roald dhals "flying solo", youll see what happens to a green mamba:) thats a really good book.
Al, I see you've been dipping into mambas. Awesome animals! Stay safe and alert!!!!! How is the Azemiops feae? And may i request some video of the little one?
i knew that had to be a krait as soon as i saw that pattern, color looks a bit dull compared to photos ive seen, maybe poor lighting? or maybe the camera flash makes the colors shine more

Hi AL - the Kraitsare supposed to be nice during the day but turn into homicidal manicas at night - this true for specimens in captivity as well?

Do the kraits display their natural diurnal/nocturnal activity cycles under your care, or are they affected by the lighting in the room?
chiconspiricy 3 years ago
Very much so...They have "fixed" pupils that are always dialated, so light blinds them.
viperkeeper 3 years ago
did you get your krait in thailand?

Could it be that Kraits have the stubby tail for distracting predators away from their head? I know some other snakes do that.

Could be...

viperkeeper 4 years ago
Thanks for your reply back, Al. I see, so red-headed kraits are aggressive in captivity, in contrast to banded kraits. Thanks for the info.
Well, how about the blue coral snake (Maticora bivirgata)or banded coral snake ? Are they also aggressive in Captivity?
HarshPTHESNAKEFIST 4 years ago
I can't say because I've only seen one live M. bivirgata and it was a baby. One problem with these are you're dead if you get envenomated, no A/V currently works.

I love, love, LOVE kraits.
Do you think the blunt tail may serve a similar purpose to the rubber boa's, where it acts as a false head?
Is keeping sea kraits feasible?
botia 4 years ago
Some species of sea snakes can be kept sucessfully, some cannot. Don't ask, I don't remember...
viperkeeper 4 years ago
Befor you even told us what kind of snake the Krait was i couldnt help but say to myself 'Wow that is a beautiful snake!'
You are one lucky guy to have that kind of personal collection. And keep up the good work on the videos! I love 'em, and how infromative they are!
