  • Jog my memory. I remember the accident in 2000 but why were they grounded for good? :D

  • cool aber grafik ist nicht so supi

  • To be completely honest I'm to be british and would only want to be British

  • 'Cos fuck noise pollution laws, that's why.

  • @jonny96, I have seen a number of airshows and been 'lucky' enough to have been just 100m from the side of a runway when Concorde rotated on take off. The noise from a small aircraft (F15, F22) is loud, but from Concorde it is much louder and really does make your insides shake. Also he might have warned the crowd about other aircraft but they are not shown on this video. But then again have you ever heard an early morning VC-10 take off. No need for alarm clocks!

  • they knew about the carbon tax so it was a no go

  • I have goosebumps...

  • Hands done the most beautiful plane ever made.

  • i find this easy to masturbate to

  • That people, is why i'm proud to be british.

  • omg k

  • makes me proud to be british seeing this take off

  • Who's that ass at 1:56. Its fine when you've got your F-15's, F-22's, B1-B's taking off!! But when its the evil Anglo/French Concorde that bursts kids ear drums you gotta make a scene!! Its people like him that stopped Concorde from becoming successful! Making it out to be the loudest thing in the world when it's not!

  • I saw the concorde land a few times while connecting flights at heathrow. Was pretty awesome to see the way it landed. Sad it just couldn't work financially

  • Only Cival aircraft to raise applause and laughter, and lots of chatter on take-off

it was a amazing aircaft and sorly missed, RIP !

  • richard branson tried to buy them!! BA wouldnt let him

  • i pissed that i never got to fly on a concorde

  • My mum used to see this amazing plane everyday fly over when she lived in

london and she never got tired of seeing it.

  • Oh mr richard branson why wont you buy it

  • @IceaSmith ba wont sell to him, even if still flying

  • @IceaSmith he wanted them all. He even had the colors picked out and everything, Said even if he was to loose money on the plane she would keep them in the air. BA and AF said no to the deal...

  • @IceaSmith Because it would bankrupt him

  • I have the feeling that we take a step back, every time a look at the world's most beautiful plane ever built

  • This is by far the best looking commercial plane. Simply incredible. I'm sure it was amazing to see close up during takeoff.

  • 1:47....YMCA....."Young Man!"

  • great to see this on YouTube, i use to watch it as a kid flying over our house, I lived in Surrey England then. Those were the days.

  • I just wish people just stop yelping their mouths off.

  • why it didn't succeeded?

  • @Vitegro Because it was too expensive to run, and was losing the airlines a lot of money.

  • @Vitegro Number of reasons. First, in mid-70's the dream was over. Man already landed on the moon, Yanks dealt with Watergate, lost in Vietnam, had an oil crisis and there was no way that Boeing, McDonnel-Douglas or any U.S. manufacturer would built the replacement. And of course, there was no way that Brits and French would ever be so cooperative as they were when Concorde was designed. Plus some small details: 140dB afterburners, sonic booms, tiny cabin, 'gas milage', ridiculous ticket prices.

  • @soberek Thanks mate. Wonderful plane tho

  • @Vitegro Wonderful it was, but never treated with respect it deserved. It was like an Italian supercar, which: burned more fuel than an 18-wheeler, made noise terrifying children 5 miles away, achieved suicide/terrorist/maniac speeds, and looked like car porn. And we love them for all that. But not the Concorde somehow...

  • G-BOAF, was the VERY LAST concorde to fly, and it is currently sitting about 5 miles away from me typing this, in the city where she was made, Bristol, England, about 125 miles west of London. The most beautiful aeroplane ever made, bar NONE!

  • Beautiful

  • Tripod ?

  • Many of the products we enjoy today, and many of those that protect and even save lives are spinoffs of the aerospace industry.

Cooperation with the Russians is fine as long as they don't get mad at us for some reason

Perhaps we should revisit the TU-144 "Concordski" and the Buran Space Shuttle!

  • In today's society, the loudness of that engine noise would've been as unwelcome as a hurricane or an earthquake for anyone living close to major airports.

Most British aircraft made in the 1950's and 1960's were extremely deafening, could wake up the deceased for miles around (figuratively speaking). Not even the 727 could match the distinctive noise generated by the Concorde, BAC 1-11, or the VC10. Those Rolls Royce Olympus, Spey, Conway engines were extremely loud.

  • @harley55100 Music to my ears! The loudest thing I've ever heard was a L-29 Delfin at full throttle from on 50 feet away from the exhaust (Video uploading now). And also a GII fitted with Spey engines that flew 500 feet over my house, I'd do anything to hear such a noise again! let alone a Concorde!

  • whyd they stop making them?

  • I dearly miss the Concorde, the F-14 Tomcat, and now the Space Shuttle.

  • SWEET

  • Yeah, that was better than sex

  • too cool! love it!!

  • That´s real sound! Moore dB is better! :-)

  • I was lucky enough to go across tha Atlantic on board the BVFA and BVFC about ten yars ago. The seats were about the same size as what used to be executive class (between business / first and economy). All the service, food, take off etc. were so superb I didn´t pay much attention to the seats etc. But I do remeber thinking that it really was not so cramped as it is quite often written in stories about the Concorde. Those 2 flights really were great, I´m so glad I had the opportunity to do them.

  • Oh sweet Jesus Christ! That isn't noise, it's aural perfection. Raw, brute double R power and the sexiest of looks make this stunning aircraft the head turner of the aviation world. Everyone, regardless of where you were born, wanted to see her. My country made that noise: we made those engines. I am so, so proud of you Concorde. Supreme British engineering. I wish you were still here. No other aircraft will ever come close.

  • @sgh1963 What can I say after that. Beautifully said for a masterpiece of British engineering unsurpassed by none. Sculptured in the most beautiful shell with the gracefullness of a swan and the power of a jet fighter. Every time I heard it made my heart skipped a beat. Those RR engines would rush me to look skyward and search for that sight of amazement, everytime! No other aircraft made me act like a silly boy. God bless you Concorde, you were and still are the greatest.

  • @viewson800 No doubt you get the hairs standing up on the back of the neck and the stiff-upper lip wobble everytime you watch this clip, just as I do. My God she was stunner! Why didn't they keep just one flying so it could attend airshows: they would have been overwhelmed by people who would break their necks to see her!

We Brits have made the most beautiful planes. Saw the Harrier vids you posted... hairs on the back of the neck, stiff-upper lip wobble...etc.

  • @sgh1963 I agree 100%. The Spitfire, the Concorde, the Harrier. Marvelous feats of engineering.

  • @maverickdallas100 dont forget the SR-71, mach 3 or better, 85,000 feet, it was amazing

  • @AlphaRoeGamin Can't forget the magnificent SR-71 Blackbird. Still remains the one to beat for speed. The pilots flew these awsome machines in full astronaut gear! After all, this is as close to space as you'll ever get in a horizontal takeoff and landing type of flying vehicle (for now, anyway).

I'm glad that NASA managed to hold onto two of them that are still flyable.

  • @maverickdallas100 There are still many that are in crates somewhere, they can be put together if need be...

  • @AlphaRoeGamin Let's hope there's some SR-71's secretly stashed away somewhere---If our spy satellite system goes down for any reason we need a suitable backup. The SR-71 would again fulfill that role with room to spare. As everyone knows, our government is notorious for shooting itself in the foot repeatedly. Pulling the plug on the Supersonic Transport and the Space Shuttle program were bad choices among others it has made.

It would have been nice if NASA acquired a few of the Concordes!

  • @maverickdallas100 well, would you rather have a space program or a economic collapse?

oh wait... they're stupid so they made both happen

  • @AlphaRoeGamin A lot of [good] jobs left with the Space Shuttle. I believe a robust aerospace industry would be in our best interest. Right now, it seems like the Russians are WINNING!!!

  • @maverickdallas100 Yes... but is it to our immediate benefit? Jobs are being created through the private companies, and we are in cooperation with the Russians at this point

  • Going to Oshkosh tomorrow. Too bad this bird no longer flies there.

  • @bomberhayley ....meh....its just by CHANCE that britain made the 3 coolest airplanes i know of.

  • @jmillski1 Britain AND French .

  • Devastated I never got the chance to fly concorde! Why oh why did they retire it?

  • Surely the most beautiful man-made machine that ever flew. Londoners would stop in the street and watch, even if they'd seen her many times before. All day long, neutered planes would tiptoe in and out quietly; then this fabulous freebird, who didn't give a shit how much noise she made, would appear in a wall of unfettered, crackling thunder, blow all the dull and grey things away, and the excited kid sprang up inside you.

Profitable? In money, no. In spirit and soul..? Immeasurably.

  • @jolivre

That, mate, was absolute poetry. You described it beautifully.

  • @jolivre brilliant comment mate. Makes me proud to be British. I remember when i was a kid i see a couple of these beautiful machines ripping the sky apart taking its lucky (and rich) paseengers to their sunny holidays...

  • @jolivre Profitable for BA & AF? It certainly was. It wasn´t profitable for her creators but surely it´s most amazing aircraft in the world. 60+ years now and she´s still queen of the sky.

  • wot a knob

  • Good news. I wrote that I dont think anybody will build/finance a new Concorde-next day I read in the paper that a UK company called Hypermach plan to design/fly a new plane called "Sonicstar" within ten years, using two hybrid Rolls Royce engines that give 30% reduction on fuel and push it to 2664 mph [Mach 4 London-Sydney 3 1/2 hrs!] .They claim they have funding already. So,Great- but it only takes 20 high paying business people and I will believe it when I see it.How many $ ....

  • The two germans at the end are deaf now...:) "Dude I can't hear nothing...!" Funny... Da muss man sich halt was in die Ohren stecken, Jungs!! ;-)

  • This plane was an aviation masterpiece.

  • Sexy Bird.

  • @SniperRcPilot wish she was still flying!!

  • @SniperRcPilot wish she was still flying!

  • wish she was still flying, beautifull to see the take -offs everytime!

  • You should have been there, and I was. When he selected max blower it looked like 50 million barbeques had been lit. The heat waves were monstrous, even from a mile away. If I can catch the last Shuttle launch, that's about the only thing that might match it. I was grinning like a shit eatin' dog and after 37 years of aviation I have a pretty high threshold of airshow grin.

  • That sound has just given me a trouser accident!

  • wish i got to see and HEAR concorde for real !

  • @TheJB1221 she was an amazing plane. i live just a few minutes from heathrow airport so saw her everyday. When she went over your your whole body would shake and your ears would be ringing for a few mins after, it was such a buzz. Was a very sad day when she stopped flying :-(

  • @yidette65 wish i had that experiance too,. something never to forget

  • @yidette65 this is one of the most exiting experiances

  • I wonder what the environmentalists had to say after seeing the black smoke coming out from it's back :p

  • WOW

  • wow.. from 202 I love it.. at 2:25 I would have behind the wheel... next time.. I will be there.......I can feel it........I am one who looks forward to the next level.. bring it on.. here we go!!

  • respect total for UK and France

    from Brazil

  • P O W E R

  • ✈✈✈✈♥Concooorrrrdee♥✈✈✈✈

  • Beautiful just beautiful!

  • I remember opening the throttle to full power on the test bead at filton i was only 8

Wicked the hole building juddered like there was an earthquake what power from an olympus 593

  • Was there and got some great videos... I'll look them up and post.

    Magnificent airliner...

  • I have a model of exactly that one! It has been to Billund too - EKBI (my local airport)

  • The Americans applauding makes me feel proud to be British

And don't worry about the noise, ex-girlfriend's Dad worked at RR, he actually made it a bit quieter and reduced the flames out the back.

I used to tease him about that - "why would you want to do that?" :-)

  • lol all these people talking about covering their ears, what the fuck? How could you not love this glorious sound? Man I can almost feel it, and smell the jet fuel! Fuck yeah :)

  • Should have never been grounded, this bird was killed by failure to clear debris off a runway and the airlines lack of commitment to keep the greatest airliner ever built from flying. Our government also has a complete lack of willingness to get her flying again; the Conservative and Labour parties killed off the UK Aviation industry. Such a sad thing :(

  • Jealous because we built it, cover there ears he says................tosser

  • @nusiccom I love when one of those guys in the crowd say "wow", then he say "woow" again as the concorde approaches take off, then he goes "WOWWW" as the bottom of the Concorde is revealed as it tears up into the sky like a SCREECHING bullet. Not even the SR71 can evoke that emotion.

  • that take off is the most amazing thing i've ever seen

  • Here I am 8 year after its retirement, looking at this wonderful video of the the most(in my opinion) beautiful aircraft ever built, and still getting goose pimples....WOW!

  • USA wish they could make such an amazing machine!

  • @eddybagwell no, not really. no one cares here, sorry.

  • @nicolesnitchie

you might not, but the rest of your country is jealous

  • Vickers VC10,Vulcan,B1 Lancer, and Concorde are the loudest on take off. I never saw the 6 Afterburning Engine XB-70 Valkyrie but that one was one of the loudest ever too.

  • @BBQFanNo1 I think you can add the Harrier to your list!

  • I am Lucky in some respects to have flown concorde a few times, yet in a way, wish I never flew her at all, Cause you never know what U got till its gone !

  • STEADY AND FOCUS....

  • Thats the reason the Nazis had no chance!!!

    PLUCK AND FUCK

  • HEY AMERICANS REMEMBER THIS... CONCORDE IS NOT YOURS! YOU NEVER BUILT SURE A GREAT MACHINE AS THIS!

  • @eddybagwell The Americans could make something as great as the Concorde, it just hasn't been a good economic decision for us to make our own Concorde.

  • @eddybagwell Chill, no need to insult me, im American and I love this bird as much as you do.

  • ps..please dont compare Concorde to a jet bomber..this plane carried 100 people supersonic across the atlantic in 3 1/2 hours in the style and comfort of a 1960s rolls royce..and she looked beautiful..and thats why the spectators clap and cheer..and now we have only the 7 hour jumbo flight.. thats why we look back on Concorde so fondly...you wont see anything like her again in your lifetime!

  • @tim60s321 im sure they could strip down the b1 and make it into a luxury cruiser too idk why anybody would ever want to tho, you guys should be more proud of the eurofighter, now thats a machine!

  • @sstroh08 The B-1 cannot go as fast as the Concorde, or last nearly as long as the concorde at supersonic speeds, just as the concorde could not carry bombs. As you know, the two planes were engineered for entirely different things and would never be able to be converted from one to another. Both were/ are amazing feats of human capabilties.

  • @tim60s321 .. I hear ya buddy.. There will never be anything like Concorde...

which is real sad.. I would love to she her go again... I hope British Aerospace has something

up there sleeves..that will deliver to the world... " A " Supersonic.. ride!! as the Concorde did

    lets go ..team ..

  • @wild1heart Thanks .. Sadly there is no chance of the Brits ever building anything like this again-we just dont have the money and actually didnt back then -like many similar projects it was a glorious folly that cost the French/Brit tax payer an arm and a leg and never did better than turn in what BA called an "operating profit" which they were unwilling to define but came after the Brit govt wrote off the massive development debts. Go visit one if you get the chance!

  • @tim60s321 Indead. The concord is the most magnificent plane ever built... And it's from Europe ^^

  • @tim60s321 You wrote the right words about this one of the most beautifull creations made by mankind

Tears in my eyes when i realize this beauty is history

  • @tim60s321 That's bullshit by 2040 im sure we will have another jet that goes Mach +2.0. So we will see another plane like this but more modern of course!

  • @TheWarPlanet I hope you're right but first understand this wonderful plane was paid for by me and all the other taxpayers of uk/france who never flew in it -our governments poured billions of £ $'s into it and never saw a bean in return-in the later years BA made vague claims their C's made an "operating profit" -that paid for the fuel. So - a grand folly- its poss the Chinese would be willing to pay for a new one AND put a man on the moon- for national prestige- not to make money for sure

  • @tim60s321 who gives a shit about whether it made a profit or not? It's bloody cool, that's all I care about, and screw the economics!

  • @tim60s321 I have nothing against the Concorde, it was amazing plane, but if you define style by a tiny window and cramped seats, thats a problem. Damn good thing it was so fast, the seats on it were awful.

  • @tim60s321 unless someone who liked the concorde in there childhood and they got to design any plane they wanted to and they wanted to make a more modern concorde without all the flaws in it then we would see it again xD

  • @kawasaki228 Hi Of course I think Conc was a magnificent achievement and a triumph of endeavour against the odds. I treasure the times I saw it at Ldn A/P and at various airshows here in England. Sadly I believe the chances of anybody building a similar size aircraft to go Mach 2 or beyond are extremely unlikely unless somebody comes up with a miracle advance in engine technology that would make it feasible. Sadly the money men call the shots. Check Concordes development/operations history

  • @tim60s321 only because its too expensive to maintain, otherwise the US could make something much faster and more comfortable if they so wished. Britain isnt all that!

  • @shariotoflove I dont think you have studied what it takes to build a supersonic airliner. The US that is to say Boeing did have plans and a full size model of their SST =supersonic transport project back in the 60s [slightly larger and faster than Concorde] and then decided that it was not viable from an engineering or commercial viewpoint and gave up. They didnt mind because they produced the super successful 747 which has been a great money earner since it first went into operation in 71

  • @tim60s321 wow you just agreed with everything i said, but stated it in triple the amount of words. thanks.

  • wow the plane is fast even without sonic speed XD

  • that fire is called the afterburner mate

  • The British Win...I love the concorde

  • SPREAD THE WORD LETS TRY GETTING A LEAST ONE OF THESE LADIES FLYING AGAIN

    save-concorde .co .uk

  • No one can beat the Concorde!

  • my fave vid of concorde--pure elegance mixed with raw power and i love the crowd comments and the applause-what other plane gets that?

  • So unfair.. The Concord has ONE major crash (and it wasn't even at fault) and they pull it off the shelf! How many other aircraft crash, and still fly?? Hmmmm You gotta wonder...

  • @browntuka Sorry, Yet thats Incorrect Info, the Crash had little roll to play, in the decision...

Was really,General downturn in the economy, and a Also a Major Factor was, they lost about 1/2 of their Feq Flyers in 9/11...

  • On a winters afternoon flight from Heathrow to JFK concorde would catch up with a setting sun, she was the only passenger aircraft able to see the sun rise from the WEST! And we layed her to rest and rot, a step in the right direction? I think not!!

  • 2 Boeing salemen didn't like this video

  • 2:42, You have just seen a legendary moment.

  • thaks for posting. I was there in my early 20's, and remember watching it from about a third of the way down the flightline and was impressed. I still remember feeling the ground rumble benath me as it took off from the power! The concorde is my favorite of all passenger aircraft. Been to Oshkosh a lot and they are very concerned with safety and asking kids to cover ears for all loud jet noise not just the concode, especially american military aircraft, F-15, F-14, AV-8Harrier for example.

  • Make sure the kids ears are ok ! yank wanker , cos it aint american and they cant do it !

would have said nothing if it were a b1 taking off , just wave ya flags kids!

  • @bomberhayley I saw the Concorde at the Labour Day Weekend CNE Air Show in 1983. One of the few Aircraft I have seen along with the Avro Vulcan Bomber and B1 Lancer Bomber that is loud enough that you have your Kids ears well covered and protected. I only saw the Concorde once. I saw the Vulcan Bomber on several occasions in Canada from the early 1970's to early 1980's. I first saw the B1 Lancer in the early 1980's and several occasions after that. The last Air Show in my area was in 2007.

  • @bomberhayley Lol Good point! However, if it was my kids, I wouldn't give two shits who built it...I would want their ears covered too! ;)

  • @jlebesis well that is true i guess :)

  • @bomberhayley lol, but your comment was funny..." wave ya flags kids!" ...Good call! So many would do that! haha :)

  • @jlebesis :) No jip meant bud , but i think the guy was a bit haesh dno :)

  • @bomberhayley well, Britain didn't do it on its own; couldn't have done it without French. Boeing's and Douglas' calculations showed that supersonic passenger service isn't economical so we stayed with sub-sonic while Europe learned the hard way. The world enjoyed the Concorde but it couldn't last.

  • @chuanist The world enjoyed concorde but it couldn't ?????

Whats that all about, the same can be said about the space shuttle as isn't that about to retire ????, difference is Concorde never blew up leaving the launch site, where concorde, and incidently only one concorde crashed as a Yankee plane previously had a part fall onto the runway, and concorde paid the price.

You just don't like it because it wasn't your idea. Sour Yanks.

  • @bomberhayley Enough with this we're better than the other country stuff, I thought we have always fought on the same side lately?

  • @shitmypants119 Agree :)

  • why was it in wi ? x

  • @CarbonBlonde the biggest airshow in the world is in oshkosh for a week once a year

  • Awesome - the plane, the roar of the engines. Love it! Gives me chills as it rotates and climbs - very nice video. Thanks for posting.

  • For f**k sake, let the kids hear the roar of them engines. What wont kill you will only make you stronger. Bloody spineless ned flanders nimby.

  • @25, did he say that's my girl?

  • whaah extremely dumb-f German comments on there.

  • whaah extremely dumb-f German comments on there

  • Glad I found this video! I used to live north of the airport on the shore of Lake Winnebago and was lucky enough to catch the the aircraft flying right over my house. Without a doubt, my best memories of EAA/Airventure!

  • It is so big beautiful at 2:42 at rotate jees

  • Ahhh, that's one sound you could never tire of.

  • Only because travelers wanted more comfort than speed did the Concorde stop flying...we'll remember it for sure in the future.

  • Hey i hear Germans in the Background.

  • that thing went like shit off a shovel. Such a shame the parts stopped being produced. R.I.P concorde

  • @MaralizeLegawana I'm Not speaking of Military, I'm Talking about the sheer brillance of putting this CIVAL Aircraft into Service. I had the Good furtune to fly Concorde 4 times, and each trip was better than the last, a Time machine to be Certian..Nothing like leaving JFK 930am and arriving Heathrow at 645pm with the sun starting to set, Thats The Goosebump experience..3:27 later, and Landing all too soon, Nothing Compares',Nothing !

  • It still takes your breath away.

  • and the drunk american is still there..........yikes

  • It's impressive ! What a take off !!!

  • amazing plane

  • they tried but failed miserably :)

  • Who is the goof - "make sure the kids ears are well covered"????????

  • @andrewzack2010

Those engines are much louder in person than what the video recorder picks up, and small childrens' ears are much more sensitive to high decibels. With their ears completely covered, they could still hear the aircraft quite easily.

  • @SPrestonUSA True.

  • fantastic video! one of the best ive seen yet, i feel quite teary to think ill never hear those engines fly over again

  • Not often you hear applause when a plane takes off...those Rolls Royce Olympus engines make a fantastic noise

  • amazing damn wonderful where was this again?

  • @charlieiscool1000 oshkosh winsconsin..

  • 2:05 my favorite angle of Concorde she so beautiful :( -sniff-

  • I'm American, and Ashamed that we never had the BAllS' to Build a SST...

Yet, the British Did, and God Bless them, they changed the way the world Flew, and also Caught the World's imagination as Well !

Concorde will Never be Forgotten, and I doubt that we shall see another Civil Supersonic , Aircraft in our life time ! Sad , Yet True ! ! !
