@60103Henry no they dont :) you step off the train an depending on which platform your on go over bruidge or through gate :). theres a little ticket office on the middle platform with one attenddant but your tickets arnt checfked when leaving the statin. hoped this helped
The reason they used platform 4 at Witham was because the train was held outside the country end of the station to allow the Clacton train to pass, which I caught to Thorpe Le Soken to get the train for a 2nd time.

This train is used for cleaning the rails in the leaf fall season, known as a water cannon train.
