  • Very nice video.... The girl with the buzz cut is smokin hot. I so want to get back on the AT if for only a few nights. But life is biting me on the ass.

  • Great vid.

  • if you've only have a summer start at springer and hike as far as you can--then you can pick up where you left off-not every can put there life on hold and hike it at 1 time--tn smokies--north carolina-virginia was the best i thought--good luck

  • Where are you at 1:22 and 1:28? I'm planning on hiking a section of the AT this summer and I would love some guidence.

  • Sad to say I am not sure exactly where those two clips are from on the trail, but if you want my advice I'd say the best of the trail was Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine (though I heard the insects in the summer in Maine can be a pain).

The White mountains were absolutely amazing and probably was the best part of the trail for us. How far are you planning on hiking?

  • Okay Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire sound good to me. It's my senior year of high school and I plan to go to college so this summer is my only time. I think a month is the limit and as for distance I don't know. How many miles could you hike in a month? That would help me pick the right section for me y mis amigos. Thanks a lot. P.S. This has got to be my favorite video of the trail, pretty much solidified my decision to go hiking. Thanks again, I appreciate it.

  • Nice one, well you are going to have a great time! Basically if a person walks 12 miles a day every day for 6 months they will finish the AT in that time, so that is kind of the benchmark. HOwever, of course you have to take a day off every four or so to re-supply and wash your clothes and just have a rest, so people tend to walk around 15 miles a day.

  • But it takes about a month to get the fitness up to be able to walk that pace day after day. I'd say (depending on your fitness, backpack weight) you would start off walking around 8 miles a day and build it up from there. GO FOR IT! It's awesome fun

  • By the way here is a copy of the video where I have changed the audio so it isn't disabled (had to choose some other music files)

  • Your audio got shut off. Any chance you could reload audio without music?

  • Awesome flic. I can only dream of such a journey, but thanks for allowing me to enjoy it through your pilgrammage to enlightenment.

One of the best videos yet. Great job!

  • Hey Many thanks Day Tripper, I can't recommend the AT enough it'll change your life!

  • Bravo! One of the best AT videos I've ever seen. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Congrats on making it to Katahdin and thanks for sharing. Bonus points for the choice of music!

    Cheers.

  • Hey Many thanks trailgoat, I'm guessing from your name there that you might have made the pilgrimmage yourself!

    walkabout

  • compliments for the video and for hiking the appalachian trail.. i want to hike it in future but i think that i won't have 6 month of holidays.. greetings from italy..

  • Well I can't recommend it enough if you have 6 months free. You really don't need any skills other than an enjoyment of the outdoors. You just start in Georgia and get walking! Thanks for the kind commment
