This is a great clip! Before the WHA hockey players' pay was pathetic. So many player said jumping to the WHA was the smartest thing they ever did. I saw Lund in the clip. I read a quote where he said he went from earning $22,000 a year in the NHL to $150,000 a year with the Aeros.
Cool! Was this in the Sam Houston Coliseum? Because I don't think the Summit/Compaq Center/ Lakewood Church opened until 1975. Anyone know for sure? By the way, anyone who doesn't believe that Houston has a rich Hockey history should watch this clip. Dang, I want an NHL team here! Don't get me wrong the AHL is nice, but it's not the NHL. The fourth biggest city in the U.S. should have an NHL team.
@HoustonRules It was the Coliseum alright. Believe it or not, I was there. The Aeros are the reason there's a smoking ban at sporting events in Houston. The ventilation at the Coliseum was so poor that by the third period, if you were standing behind the goal at one end of the ice, you couldn't see the other goal at all.

The first 2 games of this series were played at the ice rink at the mall in my hometown of mt. prospect, illinois in suburban chicago.
