I noticed that the pits were looking and behaving different. Looked more focused, less driven by moving animals, larger overall but a reduction in head size, I honestly think that they should call these anamals a different breed name. That would qualify them for that, every domesticated breed has its bloods through other breads, so the modern protection pitbull is not exempt.

A pitbull doing protection in techincality will lead to a different breed over time. Its kind of like saying a GSD used for fighting, selective breeding will be the main factor. Which is good, I've keep detailed records of "Pitbulls" who have been breed for protection exclusively, The initial breeding stock was from fighting bloodline, but through selec breeding pits that are responsive, solid nerved, agile, a bit larger and some for low animal aggression ( how ever that works)

Various herding dogs were line-bred together to design the ultimate killer, the German Shepherd Dog, also known as the Alsatian. Anything you read on Wikipedia or from an AKC/FCI website is lies, nothing more. German Shepherds are wonderful killers, that's what they do best.

Respond to this video... German Shepherds & Pit Bulls are working dogs, not pets. Of course we take advantage of their strengths, we bred them to be that strong, haha. My pit bulls pull weight/work spring poles, their muscles are absolutely rippling. All the German Shepherds I work with are hard-wired killers, police dogs. That's what makes them so cool, duh lol.

That's the reason they arent police or military dogs is because idiots give them a bad rep by fighting them and making them aggressive. Pitbulls do whatever physically possible to please their owner and if someone wants to make them a police or military dog then its easily possible with their will to please. @ConiferTreez You would judge ones intelligence based on their user name? Go look up the ADBA standard. I do agree that they should weigh between 40-65lbs, over 80lbs is not an APBT. (Over 65 is out of standard). A game dog is willing and eager to fight, or bred for that.

I would find a new helper! He is shoving the sleeve in the dogs mouth. That is a crappy way to train and if you go to a trail your dog could miss the bite on the courage test. Also the helper should never correct the dog with the leash. I do Schutzhund with my APBT's and this is an example of how not to train. Hope you don't plan to get a SCH 1 or 2

The big difference between the GSD and the APBT is that the APBT has been breed for generations to be a people pleaser while independence was encouraged in the GSD. GSD's often ask Why? whereas a 'pit bull' only asks Was that good enough?

Not true- it's the other way around.

Herding breeds like the GSD are the people-pleasers, and are easily trained. That is why you see German shepherds doing all kinds of work for people. Pits, on the other hand, are terriers, and tend to be independent and are more "driven," and will often chase prey or some other object of interest over the commands of their owners. Trust me, I am a dog trainer and have worked with a lot of different breeds. They are different kinds of "smart."

Are you kidding? Pit bulls, like any other terrier, are driven and independent. German shepherds, like most other shepherds, are obedient, highly-trainable people-pleasers. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. The pit bull was bred to fight dogs (let's be honest here), which doesn't take much human direction, while the GSD was bred to move sheep to where the shepherd wanted them, and this takes constant attention to the handler.

Actually German Shepherds are smarter. They are the 3rd smartest dog in the world.. Border collie, Poodle, Then German shepherd. It's doesn't mean pittbulls are untrainable it just means that they take longer to train than German shepherds
