Yep, the Tea-party movement was virtually "taken over" by corporate interests, Fox, and etc. It started out good and then went to pot. Now it's just a hijacked movement and platform for the government propaganda.

It did start out well though. Oh well. A few weeks after the election was over it was in the wrong hands, spouting the wrong issues, and run by the wrong people.

Thanks Tesselator, I think anyone who has paid attention to the way Congressman Paul was treated during the campaign would see that Fox was not their friend. I had a family member that tried to get me to join this tea party and when I mentioned Ron Paul, they had no idea who I was talking about...therefore they had no idea what the real tea party was about...taxes.

Basically unyoking ourselves from the oppressive oligarchy. Then as it is today again. Unfortunate that we allowed those bastards to get such a strong-hold on our little project called America. They've got their roots in pretty deep now. I dunno what we can do to turn it around besides remaining vigilant and alerting others as you're doing here. Protesting too I guess. Getting involved in local politics is a good idea too I think.

The worst part is that so many seem to accept the conditioning and yoke as if it were just normal and "how it's supposed to be". I often feel like no one has bothered to read or understand early American history at all. It's a little disheartening.

Ron Paul's tea parties was over and done with. Yes it was the supporters of Ron Paul (of which I was one) who came up with that Tea Party..it was fun and made the statements we wanted to make. But these recent tea parties was not the same thing..Fox is the one who started, paid for and promoted them. In other words, it was totally a Republican sponsored event.

I don't know how you heard about the Tea Parties but I know how they started, it was with Santilli rant on the floor of Wall St. Fox picked it up through Glen Beck and he pushed the whole deal, as did all the right wing TV and radio. Hannity was a big pusher. There would not have been a tea party if not for Fox. Invited, hells bells, they put it on.

In truth they have to same rights that we have in demonstrating. However I'm not worrying about it. Obama was elected by a landslide and the GOP are only talking to their shrinking base. Let them scream and complain all they want. The truth is they say that their going to have higher taxes when in fact that's not true.

I'm afraid you are right. I get a lot of emails from various organizations including the Campaign for Liberty. I have responded to a lot of their requests to email my representatives on certain issues. I have sent quite a few emails out. I don't think it does a bit of good. These politicians make promises while campaigning, some people believe them, they get elected or reelected then they default on those promises. I'm sad to say that my apathy is returning so soon after the 2008 election.

I went and will go again. It's about time the people got together on these issues. I understand how you feel about being pissed off about the Ron Paul issue, I agree with you on that. But these Tea Party types of ralleys are what needs to be done. I for one will not sit back quietly and say nothing. The faxes phone calls and emails are no longer working. Our voices will be heard. We are a peaceful people, we will not be taking weapons. That's just crazy. If you would have seen the different people young, old, rich, poor, it was amazing. People have been fed up for a long time. Congress is on fast track and I think we're in the last lap.

The Tea Parties did not start out being promoted by Fox it was more a grassroots thing mainly via internet. I'm glad Fox picked it up.

You supported Ron Paul's Constitution issues right? I don't understand your feelings.

Fox news wasn't behind the Ron Paul movement. Ron Paul didn't target a sitting President as the Anti-Christ, with a Socialist/fascist agenda. Ron Paul isn't about a Revolution against our government. His Revolution included the word Love. It was a revolution in ideas. What is happening now is very dangerous. It excites fear, hate and in the end, violence. Mark my words.

Dont you remember FOX censoring Ron Paul during the Debates? They OPENLY laughed at him and refused to list his name in the polls especially when he WON the debates. People have such short memories. NOW they try to steal his ideas and claim thim for thier own, why? Because they KNOW the public are stupid and will believe anything they tell them to think. BTW Rick Santelli on CNBC was who started the Tea party idea, then Fox stole it using RP's issues. They are masters of deception.

The Issues originally were Ron Paul, But the Tea party idea was started by Rick Santelli of CNBC calling homowners in forclosures Losers. Then Fox and the Heritage foundation and the Cato institute took over the idea thinking they could revive the Neo conservative agenda.

I think it goes beyond that and quite frankly it looks like it's gathering steam. Just last night there was a parade of news about State declaring their sovereignty, what triggered this? And some are even talking about secession. Texas and Alaska. I have real bad feeling about this, real bad. Taxes is the last thing I'm worried about today.

Interesting concept. I'll look into this idea of state sovereignty more. Secession didn't go too well the last time. There is a Russian professor who has a theory that the US will eventually split up into 4 or 5 regions. That theory makes some sense. All empires eventually fail. I've been thinking about residing in another country. But there's really no where else to go. There's no place you can live where you can do what you want so long as you don't hurt anyone else.

The Antics of the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, was just him getting the soft heads in the GOP base mushed up for the coming governnors election. Last time it was a 4 way race and had he only had one opponent he would have lost. He is NOT for Texas or secession. He was a Bildreberg attendee in 2007 in Istanbul. He is just another power hungry politican with good hair. Hes secession talk was his playing to the gop on a state and national stage. He got lots of TV coverage for free!
