I don't think so. Watch around 0:20, when she comes back into the room and crosses in front of the TV. You can see the tips of her ears bouncing. I think they are just folded back. Sometimes my boxer shakes her head and her ears get folded back like that. We laugh and ask her why she has "fashion ears". lol
i don't know why dogs do this. mine used to start barking and whimpering when sirens are near too. Maybe it's because they think it's a bunch of dogs saying something.
Congrats on Darla's longevity! (I know this vid is old now....) You should still be proud! As for the cropped ears... we didn't crop our two Great Dane's ears and over 10 years, with the one Dane, spent a pretty penny on treatment for chronic ear infections. We wished we had cropped to save her the grief from being so uncomfortable (and to save our wallets too, I guess).

i have a great dane girl named dana she will howel some time and its so funny because she sticks her lips out...i love these dogs...they are loyal sweet ULTRA smart but sometimes not in a way you want..they can be very intelligent..very loving of children..mine eats 1.5 pounds of food a day and some snacks here and there and she is 103 pounds

She is a beautiful dane! I have a great dane that also has funny ears. His ears went crazy when he was teething and never went back to normal. They fold over top of his head just like Darla's and I LOVE it! Ignore the people with rude comments, the funny ears make our danes unique and even more adorable than ones with regular ears. =)

True, this is a gorgeous bitch! The cropping is actually a very good long crop, just needed to be posted a lot longer for the cartilage to be set rigidly over her head and thus the ears would grow into their final upright shape. My 4.5 month old dane bitch did the same thing 3 weeks after her crop. The left ear would go over her head and the right one would fold towards the front. yesterday she finally set them high and are very rigid.
a male while growing can eat up to 12cups per day but will go back down to 8-10cups, I assume a female would probably be 10-12cups while growing and 7-10 cups afterwards.

My first two danes were rescue as well. Once you have a great dane, no other dog will compare!
