@PhoBoDacBiet its like that in the first scene of the movie he saw her in the train station but he doenst have sure if is she. so he started to talk the hole history he had if she.

in the end there is a meeting of his classmate and a girls sayed that say rikako in kochi that the was doing the universty on kochi but she write to a universty on tokio too (near of his dad home) and rikako said that she stay em kochi because she wants to meet a guy that sleep on bathtubes. that is taku (continue!)

@PhoBoDacBiet so in the last scene taku sees her in the other side of train station and have sure that is rikako so he run to meet her and she waits him because she like him and want to stay if him.

and taku say on we can see in this video so its probably that rikako stayed on koshi for the can be together!

theres is a other sequel "I Can Hear The Sea II:Because there is love

i want see this other parth if anyone know where to donwload it!

@MrDoriangreyyy Did the story ever say where Rikako was going with the trains? The sequel, i think, is a live action movie and was also based on the novel. I cant find it either.

To be honest, I scarcely understood this movie. I understood Only Yesterday, Howl's Moving Castle, and even Angel's Egg, but this one slid right off. I can't tell if that's due to the movie or to myself. Likely the second; Ghibli can do no wrong.

I just bought this DVD from a Japanese retail outlet. Cost was just shy of $70. I had this on VHSucks for about 15 years, and now finally have it on DVD. Am looking forward to watching it on my projection system this weekend.
