  • Now lets see that thing run on alcohol!

  • Does it have any torque to it ????

  • This is just amazing.

  • awesome. ever try adding an alcohol flame to it?

  • a je to :-DDD

  • power?

  • omg, yr engine dun even need a starter or a hand crank.

Why our car's engine cant be design without the needs of a starter.

  • reminds me an awful lot of an old 75 hp fairbanks morse engine

  • Could have made the red and white thing that turns into a fan, then it would be more useful.

  • nice

  • NEEDS WD40!!!! ;) nice looking engine, though. if you replace the diaphrams with pistons, you can run it even hotter! :D

  • @nolanpoepoe WD40 is a degreaser, it is just like pb blaster

  • @oSHOLLIVERo WD40 is a Water Displacer... Hence the name WD40... took them 40 tried to make it, for the government. it was used to remove water from ignition systems in WW2. Then someone thought it made a great penetrating oil. It doesn't... the best penetrating oil is a 50/50 mix of ATF fluid and Acetone.

WD40 adsorbs up water... just pour some into a clear glass and check it in a week or so... all the white stuff is water.

  • Thanks for your response. It was a great help. Since you responded so promptly and clearly liked to do one more question, a little easier I think. The type of angle arrangement described by you is equal to the internal combustion engine crankshaft arrangement with the same number of cylinders (3). It can therefore be valid the following? -> internal combustion engine crankshafts arrangement= stirling enginecrankshaft arrangement? Or is only in this special case? Tkx.

  • @olemac20 Timing on piston engines depends on lots of things: torque distribution, balance, possible torsional oscillations in long shafts, cycle type (cylinder pressure as a function of crankshaft angle) and probably some more.

So, i would say that there are just too many variables involved to safely confirm your conclusion.

  • Wath showld be the correct cranckshaft arrangement for this type of engine (i meAN, with the 3 cylinders)? I can't see very well on the video. Tkx for u time.

  • @olemac20 for a 3cyl: follow the link in the video descr. box to "crankshaft" ; ((1st DC 0deg - 1st PPC Xdeg)),(( 2nd DC: +120deg relative to 1st DC, 2nd PPC +120deg relative to 1st PPC)), ((3rd DC: +240deg relative to 1st DC - 3rd PPC +240deg relative to 1st PPC)).

    DC - Displacer Crank

    PPC - Power Piston Crank

X - angle dependant on: desired side of rotation and the angle between the displacer and power cyl. axes.

If this seems a little dry, just delete cyan and magenta and replace 72 with 120

  • @olemac20 great engine...excellent workmanship

  • You should put a fan blade on the end. It would be a contradiction...heat cooling you down haha

  • wow man verry verry nice! its perfect i like it a lot! :)

  • Really nice, very interesting stuff. sounds like an old diesel engine idling..... thanks.

    Thom in Scotland.

  • 1:00 for start. thumbs up for convenience!

  • wanking competition

  • @fasttoyo Valve oil works better, get some at a local instrument store

  • Love the engine, also very good instructions. Thanks

  • omg so cool

  • looks pretty powerfull..

  • this song is fabulous :) and video too

  • whats the power output?

  • Great sound! :)

  • this is the coolest thing.

  • What is the purpose of the fly wheel on these things?

  • it is einen Schwung-Rad,you Opfer.

  • WHERE ARE THE MAGNETS ON THE FLYWHEEL AND THE COILS FOR ELECTRICITY.

    NICE JOB..BRAVO.

  • wat i dont get is the piston valve wat is the yello thing is it a rubber substance and if it is is it attached ?

  • @1titanicman and dose it run on the hot air pressure and do u put water in it to keep kool

  • You forget some thing ....

    Laundry ;)

  • wat do u do if it gets windy?

  • this must be swedish. :p

  • love the music! Pat & Mat rule!

  • what is your piston made of and what cans are they made from?

  • @MrSciencetificsasuke Link to build description in video description box.

  • does it have some torque?

  • @MrSciencetificsasuke not much due to: rubber membranes, leakage, dead air and poor "bearings".

  • @jozafax well it looks great!

    good job

  • Man all I need is a tv and fridge hooked to one ,indoor plumbing and i couldnt give a shit about anything else

  • Suuuper!

  • v10? W20?

  • Very cool stuff !!!

  • wat song called

  • you got to much time on your hands!

  • try WD-40 it might runfaser

  • 2:55 - stop smoking...

  • I'M SO GLD TO HAVE FOUND THIS VIDEO... IT SURE IMPOWERS ME TO KNOW FOR SURE THAT THIS TECH DEVICE HAS IT'S LIMITS... MAXWELLartGORDON

  • Needs oil.

  • thanks!

  • I love the sound, Reminds me of the engine room of a ship or WWII sub

  • China style

  • Great!! But...

    p,please stop the noise!

  • i ta muzyka... :-)

  • buurman en buurman!

  • Are these kinda powerful? they dont look like they would be.

  • Nice one :D, how about to remove the candles and put parabolic mirror to heat whit the sun's collected ray? (sry for my english :D)

  • 2:54 Vtec just Kicked in yo

  • this is one annoying music

  • can you tell me how you made that?

  • @blueeyes2015 Link to build description in video description box.

  • SOOO CUTE!!

  • NOOOO You kill the engine !!1 ( 2:57) ;D;D

  • How much power does this kind of engine produce?

  • se avessi un'auto con questo motore potrei andare da Lecco a Milano consumando un cero da cimitero !!!! 1 € circa :) :) :)

  • master

  • Amazing, but i wouldn't put this in my car, Id want an inline 6....:P

  • Title of the song?

  • how much horse power?

  • hello great job !! I'm just curios for how long can you keep it running?

  • @kkakis Thanks. The single ran for 6 hours straight, then i lost interes :)

  • how do you get the timing right on that thing? amazing!

  • @jason4485 The template (link in description) and the eyeball.

  • @jozafax Really cool project

  • Pěkná práce, jako přeháněč jsi použil polystyren, nebo plechovku?

  • @asinkan Styro would melt away (construction pix link in description)

  • well done, very nice, but you must lubricate the crank shaft

  • How could you control the rpm on an engine like this? would it be through controlling the heat source?

  • @hondarideralex yes, heat source/cooling, working gas pressure, variable timing.

  • That looks like an item you might find in a red light district...

  • would you be able to put much load on the engine?

  • @WuTangghost0007 prolly not.

  • @magnum9987 you think that engine could pull enough to spin a alternator?

  • @WuTangghost0007 Again probably not. This engine runs on air. literally. Their can't be nearly enough air pressure in those cylinders to generate the torque to power an alternator.

  • true DIY!)

  • VERY COOL, ( needs a lil oil) to keep that squeek down..hahahahahaha!

  • Nice!

  • how do I build one? This is Really cool What ports do you use? and how did you assemble it inside the cans?

  • 5 estrelas

  • Add some Audi R5 sounds and this thing is awesome.

  • 1:48 is the best part.

  • wondering how many cc's and horsepower this bad boy has?

  • @plavins1 dont think cc's are necessarily relevant they aren't a unit of power or output

  • @plavins1 - answer = all of them.

  • Do you live in Czech Republik?

  • cool music ,5stars

  • sounds like she's only hittin on 4

  • Can you turbocharge this?

  • lmfao

  • @Fight2Exist

    hahaha yea can you xD

  • @xbuniekx

    Awesomeeee :D

  • put a propeller where the fly wheel is and u can fly away! lol

  • F1 engine

  • 5*****!

  • would more heat= faster?

  • @Pyronical122 yes

  • lol one of the candles will go out and someone screams "Failure in cylinder 3, Someone get a new candle and a lighter QUICK"

  • That is very cool, man. Well done lol

  • Very Impressive. Motion from expanding contracting hot/cold air.

  • A muzyczka czasem nie z kreskówki "Sąsiedzi"?

  • nice music... dum dum da da da da dum dum, CRACK!!! awesome engine by the way.

  • V5

    nice.

  • It's not a V5 it's an inline-5. Or I5.

  • very nice...getting that crankshaft synced must have been a horrible PITA...great job getting it done though

  • fantastic!

  • Now, THAT is an engine!

  • How in THE HECK did you bend that crank shaft. No one else seems to appreciate it. Bravo!

  • looks like a coat hanger.

    skilled bends indeed.

  • Another Charlie Chaplin video.

  • A bit of oil and it will run better : D

  • i'm really interested in making one of these.. can ayone show me a video on how to make one? please and thank-you...

  • go onto google and type HOW TO MAKE A STERLING ENGINE and loads of different plans will come up then choose the one that takes your fancy!!!!

  • I love that crankshaft!. The best 10 candlepower machine I've ever seen.

  • 5-cylinder, water-cooled gamma stirling engine.

  • damn, that's amazing... does it only work when there heat running down on those pipe thingy?

  • Gives a really nice sound

  • hey can you put a bigger pully on that then put an altnator then direct the electricity to a hi heat heater then it will be self running.

  • i like

  • 1 * per cylinder - so 5* for shure. ;-)

  • Excellent - self-starting ability is awesome!

  • It's not self-starting!

  • Oops - didn't see your hand give it a spin the first time watched the video - was going to ask how you did it cos my engine doesn't!

  • @jozafax yea huh! your started it all by yourself! lol

  • @phin3s Hey wiseguy, some Stirling constructions are self starting !

  • @pjsaund lol fail

  • sqeaky lol

  • This makes me wish i understood how these engines work. : )

  • like a regular car engine. their not that hard to understand.

  • No common principals at all. It's a closed-cycle, EXTERNAL combustion engine.

  • the music sounded it was out of the adams family but the engine running is awsome

  • Music is from a Czech cartoon show called Pat & Mat (literally "stalemate and checkmate" in Czech)

  • I loved the sound of it running--that was really cool. Part player piano, part funky contraption. The little diaphragm thingies were interesting too instead of a standard pistion.

  • Yeah, those are the displacers.

  • thanks :)

  • can you sand me some draving of plans for stirling of some 100 w?

    something worth building ;)?

    something with good eficiency

  • No, sorry, have only Stirling engine plans that are not worth building...

  • 2:53 great lungs you've got!

  • awesome

  • En attendant la voiture Stirling... Bon courage ! Et bravo, bien-sûr !

  • Wonderful!

Really nice job of concept, documentation, and artistic appearance!

  • musik ist klasse von

    Pat a Mat

  • how is that possible'??

  • it will get faster and faster untill it breaks lol

  • good work !

  • How big that must be to generate 1HP?

  • So if:

I guesstimate the power output to be 3 Watts, assume that the power output depends only on volume, the engine measures 0,5x0,2x0,3m and volumewise scale the entire engine up for a factor of 745/3~250,

    then:

    a 1 HP (745 W) version vould measure

    3,15x1,25x1,89m.

  • Wow, that is like a half bedroom.

  • ouch my ears!!! a little oil wouldnt hurt lol. Very impressive though.

  • Beautiful !!

The name of 'Heath-Robinson', the early 20Century British cartoonist, comes to mind though.

  • Man, fucking crazy!!!!!LoL!

  • hi,thank you for your great video about five cylinder stirling engine ,but the link that shows the construction details are not available, would you show us another link, thank you very much:))

  • dam, this is awesome

    v8 next? :P

  • How much force does it take to stop the fly wheel?

  • Can you build a 7 cyl stirling and sell it? I need one to drive my pump.

  • i need one for my go kardt

  • Very nice. do you have a building instruction for this ?

  • Thank you.

There is a link in the video description box to a pictorial i did during the build.

  • Thanks !

  • what does the mottor run on?
