wow! my two fav geniouses..the SPARKS and INGMAR BERGMAN in one mix! All i need now is the perfect man who understands the same as i do, to lie down on the couch with me and drink that perfectly cold beer, give me a perfect kiss, before we close our eyes and listen to this before embarking on a night of perfect Ingmar Bergman movies.
@SpiritOMentos ...u have wild strawberries??..geeee man..that is NEARLY too perfect to be true! ( and i am perfectly mysterious and withdrawn from the world like Greta Garbo, cos i'm so strange no-one understands me... get it?? ;)
@reallyfullofmyself You and me...The Casbah baby! Just stick with me. Your life will turn into a German Expressionist film. I promise! You will be MESMERIZED by my unwaning existentialism. My cold hands on you will give shivers down your supple body. Like Garbo always said 'I Vant To Be Alone'. You Vill say 'Don't leave me alone'. Together we will read Kafka, Nietzsche, Steele...Come our chariot awaits.
@SpiritOMentos ---shall we do this in front of the whole world as -expressionalism----?...or skip the -baby- from the start? ..cos Garbo would have put iron locks on her tower from anyone having called her that!! (not saying she did not!..shock shock horror horror.........:O.........
@reallyfullofmyself I always saw the ideal Sparks in black-white videoclips. Bergman's Persona is a huge treasure for humanity. When i saw it for the first time was just overwhelming.
@ghiote oh peepus, was it EVER!! i was 8-9 yrs old when i saw it, it was really truly my first feature length movie i ever saw in my life, and that was in my grand parents house (my parents would never let me watch anything on telly,.and it just effin did SOMETHING to my mind that has been irreversible ever since...like, it opened up some sort of inter dimensional "wormhole" or something...i don't know..but it was like loosing some sort of mind virginity or whatever..can't describe it any better
@ghiote ....hhhmmm...i better leave things i cannot express unsaid...as art and genious speaks for itself... Have u seen Fanny & Alexander??... (as well as anything from Bergman, but...just as an Oscar winning example...Bergman did not even bother to go and get the Oscar himself... ;)....to grand a genious for Hollywood?...!...?... most probably...
thanks so much for posting this. but i do have to point out that Sparks is an American band. :) Although their style is very sort of reminiscent of kraut rock
wow - sound very cool! I just went to buy it from amazon but it's almost 50 bucks! gonna have to hold off on that one until it is available domestically in the US
Calling every unit, every unit respond Dont let him out of your sight He wont be running too long I can see him up ahead a gray sweater on And if he doesnt respond what sort of force should we don Only as a last resort should force be applied And dont allow him to hide They want him taken alive

Mr. Bergman, give it up, youll never escape You have no hope and no prayer You sure aint going nowhere
I cant let them catch me This place is death to me This place is death to me This place is death to me

Reminds me of Berlin cabaret in the 1930's. Just perfect timing for America in the current Dark Ages.

"This is madness. But it seems like I'm getting closer to the beach. Why does it feel like (???)"
Maybe someone else could help me out with that last one? :-)

The Swedish monologue translated to English:
1:17 - 1:30
"More and more police cars are coming after me. And I don't even know where I'm heading. There just isn't any sign that says, "Sweden - This way"."
1:46 - 1:54
"I won't let them get me. This is death for me. This is death for me. This is death for me."
2:37 - 2:45
"Helicopters. How will this end. Now I am an actor in a bad, expensive Hollywood movie".
nagaenigma 2 years ago 10
thanks. I always wondered what Ingmar sais at 1:46. It sounds very dramatic
