WHAT THE HELL! have i stumbled upon!...... this band is FANTASTIC! How many albums did they release? and WHY werent they up there with the Stones at the time?
@gemear2 G'day mate, I was wondering if I get a copy of this aswell please. Great band. What a true travisty that they never got the recognition they obviously deserved. Cheers.
My my, isn't Jackie juvenile! Getting old just sucks so much...another great Aussie band I never heard of...These Black Diamond guys remind me a little of the Master's Apprentices.
WOW...OK CAMPERS, HERE'S A BIG TIP. Look at the intro. This was taken from an ABC show about Oz rock...and the girl in the pic is Oscar Nominee from Underbelly...JACKIE WEAVER.
@456japan youtube - mp3 dot org you just put the link in and download the mp3... people may argue the "downloading" thing but in the case of this song, theres really no other way cheers
These guys were from Lithgow and won the Hoadleys Battle of the Band. We locals loved them. Played around the local dances, Alan Oloman was one and the boy of Wilkinson, can't remember the other names.
This is the essence of the rock in the 60's !!!! This puts anything that they play on the radio nowadays straight to the garbage can. BLACK DIAMONDS!!!!! this proto-punk, proto-psychedelic, If someone have told me was Jeff Beck on the guitar l would believe lol.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! wow-what the hell was going on in Australia way back when? This is fantastic.....wtf- don't they lick those psychedelic toads down there ? WILD !!!
@tonfan WTF as if lame toads had anything to do with how great mid - late 60's aussie rock bands were??..Aussies were playing Kick A Rock 'n' Roll is the only explanation..Like the stuff on this channel..We must agree with sentiments expressed though!
I love this song, it's a shame today that some bands can't get this kind of energy into their songs. It has a great sound too, forget all that over produced crap, this is the stuff.
i use SOULSEEK, the soulseek program have the only 4 songs ftom the black diamonds (for download). i hope you understeand ,, im mexican. no speak english. if you want i can send you the songs
By the way, Lithgow is nowhere near the beach. It's upper Blue Mountains close to Mount Victoria on what's basically a "massiv"... I seem to recall a lake though...
I love about every clip you've posted... The Renegades clip is gold... but you've topped yerself with one. Good on you. Lithgow, coal mining town. This band were the best.
Woooohoooo, this is ace! Thanks a lot. Can you call this freakbeat or is it rather garage? I'm always confused with all these genres.. Anyway, I don't really care as long as it is so good :-)
tomtokenator, another incredible find. This 45is one of the holy grails of Oz garage collecting, an absolute monster. In fact, I've never seen a copy in the flesh. These boys came from Lithgow, a coal town nowhere near the beach. But what a killer!!!

Nuggets II was compiled by morons. It was a pretty good concept for a series, IF they'd have kept that one uk only, and done a (or some) euro, antipodean boxes. Typical American arrogance does a 'rest of world' box! HA!
