  • 'I'm your loan shark of bliss...' So fucking tragic, and poetic at the same time. I really know thath feeling... Hail Jeff Buckley.

  • It's almost impossible how much I love this song. I think it's easily his best. It does everything he does best in three minutes.

  • "I am your failed husband contender

    I'm your loan-shark of bliss"

the best lyric i ever heard sung.

him not being year - heartbreaking.

    what a profound loss.

  • This brilliant & Muse !!

  • Honor the artful dead and play from your fucking heart.(exchange clocks for Bill Hicks tapping like a psychotic woodpecker in your den). John Coltrane only needed ONE listener. Hendrix hated management in 1969. Stop skull-fucking inflamed, fame-reigns, rather, ride the wicked-razors of your own seething humanity... get off facefuck - burn some mirages alone; and, bear a product for the yearning. Make the hearer drown in YOUR sublime sculpture. Wayward souls need more artisan-wizards to ignite.

  • @reemanmusic .......what?

  • @reemanmusic Yours is the best comment I've read ever.

  • @owenhunt thanks! Cool of you to say that...

  • Can someone please explain me what the hell this song means??

It's a bunch of phrases put together, for me. I love this song, just can't understand what it means.. :(

Sorry if I sound dumb, but I'm from brasil not a native english speaker

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! I am so glad that my friend introduced me to Jeff Buckley :) WOW... WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING FOR THE LAST 17 YEARS OF MY LIFE!

  • amazing

  • The chord at :47 kills me!!!! amazing.

  • what key is this in? open B?

  • My favourite track by Jeff Buckley. RIP

  • so much passion... :) he could even recite the verses from Torah and Koran with his voice...

  • I think it's safe to say if he lived, Radiohead would've been fucking nobodies.

  • @dano555666

I think it's safe to say that's not true.

  • @hierchon i think it's safe to say that is very true, without jeff buckley so many artists wouldn't be anything. coldplay and radiohead especially.

  • @BoddhasServants Don't be a fool even though coldplay is a great band and radiohead is a good band. They don't hold a candle to Jeff Buckley and his overwhelming talent. No Cobain,Cornell,Stayley,Vedder,Harper,Johnson,Smith,Mayer etc. I mean the list is endless all combined don't have the talent Buckley possessed. He possessed the talent of John Lennon or Freddie Mercury or Robert Plant. I mean the all time greats!

  • @nat00ben06 um, i don't really recall saying they could hold a candle to jeff, i don't even listen to either of those bands, and your list, with the exception of cobain, cornell, staley and robert plant, kinda sucks. jeff buckley was and is the greatest musician of all time and i wasn't comparing him to anyone, just noting that those other bands wouldn't be popular if they never heard jeff buckley.

  • @dano555666

What are you on about, sir? 'Creep' is still arguably Radiohead's biggest hit, in worldwide popularity terms anyway, and was released a year before 'Grace'. In fact most of The Bends was written before Grace came out.

  • @simeoneous actually the bends was going to be an electronic album then thom yorke heard grace and changed the whole sound..

  • @organica420

That's complete rubbish. Listen to live at Astoria, there are 7 songs from the Bends on there, and it was recorded 3 months before Grace was released. They are very similar to the album versions.

  • @dano555666

Can't tell if trolling or just very stupid.

    - Thom

  • Best opening chords EVER!

  • My favourite song from him. Simply.

  • heartbreaking song...do your research on Jeff

  • i must buy this album...while it is cheap

2 cds with lots of perfect songs :)

  • One of the most beautiful male singing voices I've ever heard. RIP Jeff.

  • amazing track

  • ive never heard another song that gives me chills, for the entire song!

  • the real JB

  • one of my faves by him. <3

  • This song led to so much in modern music....and Jeff wasn't even done with it before he passed. The thing about Vancouver is, we witness his genius and his arpeggiated mastery of his axe and then.....damn, he is gone. My God, what the fuck did the future hold for our genius!! Un fucking believable.

  • Questa canzone mi mette i brividi da quanto è emozionante e suggestiva! Eccellente canzone!

  • VANCOUVERRRR!!!! FTW.

  • To the two who disliked.

    Are you mentally retarted?

  • Love this song; my favourite on 'My sweetheart..

Think it pointed to the way he was going to go; less produced and polished than the first album.

Loved Grace but would've loved if he had the chance to produce a rawer album.

Anyway, it's not gonna happen now..

  • I'm so glad I listened to this, I used to listen to Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk religiously when it was released, and this was always my favourite track off the album. I haven't listened to Jeff for years now and was only reminded of this unfinished masterpiece after hearing the Bamboos' cover of 'Everybody Here Wants You'. Miss you Jeff x

  • Una delle canzoni più belle di Jeff...

  • His essence? Why is this song called Vancouver?

  • @sonsofromance I'm fairly certain I've read that Vancouver is where the band initially came up with the song.

  • @sonsofromance it was written in vancouver (i dunno about the lyrics tho, i think only the music was written in vancouver)

  • I agree

    we all love Jeff XXXX

  • 2:38 oh man

  • So beatiful...

    We all love JeffXXX

  • eternal life, buddy!!! 15 years your music come along with me making me alive !!!

  • How can lyrics be so simple,so relatable and so beautiful?

How could the poet behind them die so young?

I never met you jeff, but I miss you deeply.

  • It's hard to believe that an artist of his caliber could die without becoming huge. He was probably killed by the C.I.A. or something who made it look like a drowning: joke. But you don't have to be number one on the charts to be a badass singer songwriter. Look at Saving Abel or Soulja Boi or whoever else....

  • Reminds me of Sonic Youth. I like it.

  • 1 dislike? Time to get that rifle out...

  • This used to be my favourite track of all time. Few songs can match it - Ready Able by Grizzly Bear is one recent one that has this kind of intangible romantic magic to it....

  • @Manseb Ready and able is a fantastic song.

  • i will hunt down the one that disliked it and kill him

  • @panicisintheair "It" not "him".

  • @panicisintheair Good to see music inspire such passion, but you're not serious.

  • @volantera no but you're gettin my drift

  • without a doubt one of my favourite songs of his. it just creates the best atmosphere.

  • This song emotionally kicks the shit outa me.

  • wwhy is this song called Vancouver?

  • fucking transcendent.

  • this song just creates the best atmosphere. definitely one of my favourite buckley songs.

  • @blmc18 I agree like some etherial haze

  • Jeff Buckley - An unbelieveable talent with many classics in his short carrier! This song is a great example of his talent, very difficult song to pull off and make work!

  • Might totally be his best song.

  • what does this song have to do with vancouver canada?

  • radiohead saw JB & they were blown-away.....

  • Definitely man!!!

I mean, Thom Yorke has stated that both Jeff AND Tim Buckley were influences for Radiohead (which I think is the greatest band ever)

    cheeers! :)

  • Great comment :P

  • @JFLD02186 Radiohead cannot envy no one...

  • @JFLD02186 yeah amazing story about them going to the jb concert then thom recording fake plastic trees.

great artists, just a shame one left so young

  • @JFLD02186 the story goes radiohead went to see jeff buckley and thom yorke was struggling to find his voice. After seeing Jeff Buckley they were recording or practicing "Fake Plastic Trees" and Thom Yorke got through the first line and broke down in tears. Jeff Buckley would've made some incredible music if he were still here.

  • @JFLD02186 and Muse too!! :D

  • i love that first little riff that repeats throughout the song 0:06 to 0:08 it's just genius, and then the crescendo the end at around 2:42.... Arrrr!!!! I wish I was as damn talented as him...

  • join the club

  • Love 1:34 when Jeff and his bnd just rock out.Absolute legend will never be forgotten.

  • Never heard of him until found a random link to this. Glad I clicked it.

  • @EdgarTheGreen Well dude you just hit the musical jackpot buddy. Listen to everything he's ever done and enjoy the ride.

  • @EdgarTheGreen same with me. I remember lamenting on a Nirvana video that all real music died after Cobain. But one kind gentleman corrected me and told me of this fellow named Jeff Buckley. I listened to his music and realized the error of my words.

  • @PopCultureSucks Elliott Smith died in 2003 ...

  • one of my favourite Buckley songs off the 'Sketches for my Sweetheart The Drunk' album. Love you Jeff x

  • My favourite Jeff Buckley song! I too have to repeat it a few times. Haunting..........such a loss!

  • not one bad comment i see. I think that reflects on how good the song really is LOL

So awesome, Jeff is deffinitely my favourite artist <3

  • maybe his best song

  • @ronnbyrne13 I think you're on to something.

  • when i first heard this song couldn't stop listening to it. It's been about two years since then, and it still has the same affect on me

  • this song rocks -

    belly released the stars

    tears between the scars

    poetry

and sublime soaring vocals and energy screaming from the soul

    symbolic of his life perhaps

    such a talent

  • Does anyone think this song is unbelieeeeeevably sexy??? That bassline, my god...

  • YEEEEESSSSS!!! This song/that drum and bass line get me grindin'/windin' everytime!!!! : P

...and I came back 4 more....

  • @MzMeanE absolutely agree. fantastic rhythm section. we did a tribute, and it was... challenging... to get this right.. :)

  • So glad to see these comments, I thought I was the only one obsessed with this song. It taught me so much about atmosphere and guitar arrangement.

  • Can't get enough of this SONG!!!! I love to sing and drive to this...simply beautiful, lyrics, and of course, vocals!!

  • six stars for this track!

  • this song defined an era in my life and for that i am eternally grateful to this artist thanks for posting the vid

  • There was one day where I had this song on repeat. Each time I heard it, I had chills up my spine. We all know that "MSTD" will be debated as to how accurate a representation of Jeff's intention it was. But I truly appreciate this song. Thank you.

  • This damn song is on repeat EVERY TIME I listen to it!

  • This song is so beautiful... definately one of my favorite songs ever. It always leaves me so hungry for more :-(

  • Comment removed

  • I know...it climaxes to this amazing rush of unreal vocals and then just ends...so tantalizing...

  • the best song ever

  • definitely one his best tracks... so hypnotic

  • Absolutely, it's been one of my favorites for a long time. Showed some real progression from his first album, and really captured his essence perfectly.

  • @BambiTheCierv Hypnotic? Bark like a dog.

  • @volantera uh, what?
