  • "History is written by the victors." - Winston Churchill

In the Battle for Berlin alone at the end of WWII, the Russians raped over 2 million German girls and women. The French, British, and yes Americans murdered their share of prisoners, German and Japanese, and raped civilian girls and women as well. Our crimes may not approach the level of that of our enemies, but just because we won the war doesn't mean we came out of it with our hands clean.

  • @Arcaneshadows

No war can be "clean", and war itself is evil, but in the interest and love of all that we love blood must flow.

  • @Arcaneshadows I'd like to see the source for the number you present. Its quite alot considering the population of berlin at that time

  • @horsthorstmann666 he mixed something up... the estimate is 2 million victims of rape in the eastern parts of germany who reported their fate to doctors or nurses. unknown is the number of those who did not report anything. nevertheless it can be said that in many wars rape has benn and still is a common tactic and the western allies as well as the wehrmacht were themselves not free from using it.

  • @buehlerama The number of german rapes in russia supersedes vice versa. That said, It dosent matter who raped the most. In war, the innocent suffer the most, and the trurth Is the first casualty.

  • @tyskbulle agree ... But there is one major difference:

Whilst germans don't neglect the crimes committed by their soldiers it is until today the problem that around the world people justify crimes against german civilians by the crimes that germans committed.

This is an act of inhumanity - no one may say that the rape of a person can be justified because her neighbour raped somebody in another country.

I think you get my point

  • i respect that ...i know i'm not german but i have meany family members from germany and my mothers sister lives theare to...i respect germany :)

  • Every time i see a world war II documentary i always look at the German soldiers marching or rolling around in 1940-42 thinking "how many of them made it home"?

    War is Hell.

  • @lionel21000 Well said dude, you just owned the supposed lawyer.

  • @FourthUpsilon Thanks!

  • LIVE FREE DIE FREE

  • Most soldiers, meeting under different circumstance might have become friends. Only the indoctrination of their leaders and the "kill or be killed" mentality separates them. German, Russian, French, Italian, Japanese, British, American... everyone was fighting for what their side believed but every soldier remains the same. They are tools trained to do and not think. To say that all German soldiers deserved to die means that every US soldier, and ever soldier of any country, must also die.

  • Are YOU people CRAZY? ALL of the soliders were given free reign to torture and rape. My father was first division into Dachu at age 18, and I don't think he every recivered. They should have lined up every German solider and killed them. No due process, and I am lawyer. The "Nuremburg defense" was a joke. Do you think you could rape and murder a child "on orders"? If so, then seek help.

  • @MarianneMorris14 Uh, there were millions of soldiers fighting. I don't think that ALL of them were given free reign to do whatever they wanted. In fact, Field Marshall Rommel and even SS general Felix Steiner ignored some of Hitlers orders, the most famous being the "commisar" order. I don't care who you think you are, lining up more people and shooting them isn't an answer. Individuals need to be punished for their own actions, not the actions of others. I would think a lawyer would know that.

  • @lionel21000 ..,Individual members of the military are subject under different laws but still subject to their country's civil code but also to the codes of international law concerning conduct of war, geneva convention etc,...

Individuals of the US armed forces are subject to United States Military Justice System such as the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), under which individuals are not only accountable for their actions but those under their chain of command.

  • @fluffy1931 Yes, I know this. Thank you.

  • @fluffy1931 Sadly US (armed forces) are only subject to their own laws but oh well that's what superpowers do.

  • @Ilij4 .,,what part of the sentence, "Individuals of the US armed forces are subject to to the codes of international law concerning conduct of war, geneva convention etc",...does your brain not process?

  • As a member of the military I am responsible for my own decisions and actions. I am "victim" to no one but myself bear the responsibilty of my own actions. At the end of the day I alone am accountable for what I have done. I thank God each and every day for allowing me to serve with the fine people of the armed forces.

  • THE GERMANS ARE PROUD FOR THEARE COUNTRY BUT NOT OF THEIRE HISTORY WITH HITLER

  • @eteledevil yes and you as a NONE GERMAN would know right??!!! du hast keine ahnung!!!we had great soldiers, generals, i have family in the usa and they tell me that Rommels tactics are still studied and taught to the american soldiers..Im proud of our soldiers in ww2, they fought for my Fatherland!! halt die fresse!!! wixxer

  • The Military became victims of Military Industries and politicians!

Military don't start wars becouse they know how bad it is. politicians start wars,

soldiers end it ! But in the end of the day, politicians become Pacifists

and militaries became the evil people !

  • They were just soldiers following orders. And i salute them all. Allies and German.

    The world salutes you all.

  • @Sellrain by the way, Wikipedia is not necessarily the most historically site and you must realise that facts on their may not be verified. Particularly in that article as it quotes a Jew living in Israel on The Wehrmacht. Of course he has good reason to be biased but bias does not help when analysing pure fact as Bias mixes Opinions into the equation.

  • @truthfullcomentator

So- if someone is Jewish then we shouldn't listen to them?

  • @Sellrain most war crimes committed on the German side in WW2 were done by the members of The SS. This was the a branch of the Nazi Party and was independent from the Wehrmacht so they would not be listed in that article. The SS were responsible for the holocaust, although as your article states the Wehrmacht did commit war crimes in WW2, German war crimes were predominately done by the Waffen SS. The Wehrmacht were just ordinary soldiers.

  • @truthfullcomentator you are right. the average german soldier did not know what was going on in those camps. some may had an idea what was happening but they were powerless to stop it if they knew. but we cannot forget the soldiers who were not ss and committed ruthless things.

  • when he said they ALL deserved long and happy live more than ALL of them deserved to rot in the concentration camps they created

  • @EHSF72

    lol u mad bro?

  • They were soldiers. They were ordered to fight so they did. Hate not the regular soldier but the goverment that made it.

  • I think most of the regular german soldiers had no idea what really was going on. Soldiers on both sides faught for the good, or thought they were!!. Im german thankfull that the World stopped the crimes against humanity in my Country. And im proud of what Germany has become since then.. imagine only 65 yrs ago almost whole germany was in ruins, no economy... Today its one of the most peacefull welcoming countries, hosting Events like Fifa wold cup in 2006. What a development.

  • Soldiers-Sailors-Airmen-Marines all over the world are sent to war to fight for the government, but they will die for their country and men and women next to them

  • 0:28 " Diehnanahaden"

  • Many of the Germans were just military men, with honor, who were military men before Hitler. They just had the misfortune of carrying out the insane orders of a tyrannical government......sound familiar?

  • @Thelookoutslookout you mean people like pol pot? or Kim Il sung or saddam hussein. you know people that took over countrys by force. and didnt liberate them from oppressed dictators. oh i get it it was a bush joke.

  • The German WAFFEN SS The best that's a fact End

  • holohoax

  • In my opinion the German Empire wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the mad lunatic Hitler in charge. The Germans were a strong people with extremely good engineering talents, the best scientists and a strong paternal family.

If Hitler could have been assassinated early in the war, Europe would be better off and would have been saved from the hell of Russian communism.

  • @fluff125 Yeah, that would have been better if it happened...but it didn't.

  • @fluff125 but if it wernt for hitler germany would have never rose to power they wer already in an economic strugle

  • @macasmunchys

Germany was already an economical power and better off than most other countries at the time. The Depression was worldwide and was felt in Germany too. It's interesting to not how the nazi party had few votes before 1929, but gained several times more in the Depression of the 30's. Somebody had to be blamed so it was the jews.

You also forget the foreign investors of Germany, many of which liked Hitler. Ford, IBM and others. Without them Hitler would have no money.

  • @McLarenMercedes ahh k

  • @fluff125 Actually, if Hitler won communism wouldn't exist in Europe since he was an anti-communist.

  • @fluff125

Last time I checked communism was invented by Karl Marx a German, who was financed by another German, Friedrich Engels. Hitler himself considered communism a Jewish invention. Not Russian.

Listen up. The German historian Fritz Fischer said that Germany indeed was responsible for both world wars, and were going down either way. The Prussian military doctrin was at odds with democracy and rightfully lost both wars.

Why would they assassinate Hitler EARLY in the war?? No reason to.

  • @fluff125

You know what? Communism actually rose due to the brutal regime of the British Empire and its imperialist ideas. It didn't just emerge out of the blue. Germany had the intention to replace Britain as the world's leading colonial power and extend its influence.

"Strong paternal family"? What century do you live in? Germany learned the lesson the hard way, and today has gained much self knowledge, sadly it doesn't apply to other countries who think they can dictate the world.

  • WHO WAS THE GENERAL NAME PLEASE HELP

  • These Germans were not total Nazis but men who had joined the German Army to protect their country from destruction and to protect their families, many were conscripted to fight. At home they would be regular people such as you or I. Some if not most of them would not have agreed with the Holocaust if they had seen the death camps themselves. Almost all of them would have lost the same if not more than the victors of WW2, they lost friends and family. But they fought with honour all the same.

  • i love that language

  • How could the Shoah happen in such a high civilized country like Germany? Then: ... German Speech from band of brothers ...If I were a Jew I wouldn´t make such a film! Self-destruction ?

Wenn ich ein Jude wäre, würde ich einen solchen Film nicht machen! Selbstzerstörung?

Do you have an answer to YouTube: Auschwitz - Block 25 ? - MAYBE a catholic or jewish famished lady of Poland walking beside a German female sadist? Why are some Germans such beasts even the most are very kindly?

  • @Sellrain

    Simple answer:

Because all humans can be beasts. Turks - Armenians, US Whites - American Natives, furthering the spanish atrocities in the Americas, the English in their colonies... and so on. Germans were just the last in a long, long line... And to admit that bombing children is a crime would be asked too much out off the victors, right? "They were only germans, after all" to quote a famous english who got a statue in England.

Asking for monsters can end in selfreflection....

  • What he says is..... We need to become strong like we were when we had Hitler!! He also said "Arnold Schwartneggar will be president of the US and conquer America!!!.................AHAHAAAAA!!

  • And then, as German "Disarmed Enemy Forces", the honourable German POWs (without POW rights), were starved to death in Eisenhower's Rhine meadow camps, where up to one million German soldiers (innocent) were deliberately starved to death. In the mean time, the Morgenthau Plan of Henry J. Morgenthau Jr. in an adapted form, started to starve the 5.7 million innocent German civilians in the western zones of occupation from 1945-1947. With a meager 1200 kca per person per day.

  • @IustitiaPax --- GOOGLE / Wikipedia: "War crimes of the Wehrmacht" ----- vs. "Allied War Crimes during World War II".

Which of these crimes were worse? An addlebrained question!

  • @Sellrain look up crimes of the SS vs crimes of anybody ever before that

  • @Sellrain I say the Axis.

  • @Sellrain To be fair, the victor writes history. I dare say there are hundreds of crimes by allied forces that we do not knbow about. However, there cannot be any doubt the Germans needed to be defeated. It was arguably the best army in the world being controlled by the greatest evil of the world. To stand by & do nothing would have been criminal.

  • @cuchulainn187 lol, straight out of the victors history text book :)

  • @Sellrain the Russians

  • @Sellrain War crimes happen in all wars. The reason why Germany was blamed so much of it is

    1. They lost the war

    2. The Holocaust, even though it was only the SS and Hitler, not the entire German Army.

  • @woo1693 It wasn't the entire German Army but it wasn't only the SS either. The Wehrmacht played an active role in the rounding up of Jews in Eastern Europe. Without the co-operation of the Wehrmacht the Einsatzgruppen would have found it much more difficult to achieve their aims. Also the Wehrmacht was in charge of Russian POW's, the purposeful starving of 3 million prisoner's is not a war crime no?

  • @brownsey1 I was talking about it in a simple form I guess. My point was not ALL the German army was responsible for things. Yeah but the gestapos and SS did most of the roles in the genocide. Mistreatment of POW's are horrible indeed, but the same thing was done by the Russians. My point is that both Allies and Axis committed war crimes but the reason why Germany is blamed so much is because of the Holocaust. Nothing can match that, because the people who were killed were mostly civilians.

  • @Sellrain

neither. there are no "crimes" in war. only a fool would think that. war is war. only civilians think that an army follows rules

  • @chipleader14 Every army follows rules, that's why there's discipline and it's what separates them from rampaging hordes.

  • @chipleader14 What about 'war crimes'?

  • @SAMagic

War crimes are only crimes in the eyes of the civilian.

  • @Sellrain

Wehrmacht also took part in execution of civilians. It's already proven that they were also a part of these war crimes. Evidence tell they also enjoyed it.

  • @RouserTheRebel you've confused wehrmacht with the ss. wehrmacht were mostly just soldiers like everyone else.

  • @KingLeonidas3267

Nope. Both the SS and Wehrmacht committed mass executions. Too bad I can't give you a direct source on this on YouTube, but just google the shit up. It's not hard to find..

  • @RouserTheRebel all soldiers are given orders. that some wehrmacht commanders gave their soldiers such orders doesn't give you adequate evidence to say they "enjoyed it". to be honest, I'm pretty sure american soldiers were responsible for far more crimes, if we're going with quantity here.

  • @KingLeonidas3267

Eye witnesses. Too many men have been at the mercy of men following orders. It's no excuse.

Why do you continue to protect the Wehrmacht? Of course some American soldiers commited terrible acts, but it doesn't justify the mass executions of the SS and Wehrmacht..

  • @RouserTheRebel that a few people did bad things doesn't justify blaming all of them. you realize, i hope, that the only reason the wehrmacht is considered to have committed more crimes, or at least more severe crimes, is that the allies publicised them after the war? anyway, the point is that the wehrmacht was no different from the other nations' military, it was just under nazi leadership. certainly, some took part in the mass executions, but most, as in 90-95%, did not.

  • @Sellrain Most of those were RUSSIANS though, and in retrospect and right now the Soveits are just as hated as the Nazis by most.

  • German soldiers were way more disciplinated/honored than every american "hero" was/will be.

Most everything british/american productions from WWII is pure biased bullshit.

  • @halafradrimx dont be so biased. Soldiers from all countries who did their kogb are heroes

  • @IslandThunder84 But what you said is biased also... -_-'

  • @halafradrimx though only used by Samurai, Bushido applies to warriors of all generations, nations, and creeds.

  • I hope they gonna make a series just like Band Of Brothers but about german soldiers.

  • Dick Winters wrote this in his book.

  • auf ein einiges, starkes und gerechtes deutschland, ein deutschland dass für die völkerfreiheit einsteht indem es jedem land das recht der selbstbestimmung lässt,GEGEN AFGHANISTANKONFLIKT!

  • Dudes jaw is craaaazy.

  • Never Again a war in Europe!

  • @ForImperium - finally now that our cousins in the Balkans have resolved their differences.

Now if only we could replace 'Europe' in your sentence with 'world' - that would be outstanding!

  • I don't live in the Balkans, nor do I represent those whom do.

But yes the sentiment to end war is quite a valid one, as JFK said "man must end war or war will end man".

But the sentiment for no war in Europe is a more valid one, where the people share a common history together, similar cultures, languages and appreciation in art and science. This isn't reflected by the world, hence the war amongst brothers, of Europeans is what my statement evokes.

  • Every soldier, no matter where he(she) comes from, should be proud to serve their country and even with guns pointed at each other they should know that they have a brotherhood for all soldiers, in a way, fight for the same thing.

  • that the creators of band of shit forget is that americans kill those german soldiers

  • @bgjcr88 lol youre a dickhead

  • All soldiers are victims of their own governments.

  • @Salguine Are you retarded? Or just trying to sound hip...

  • @Salguine your quote is amazingly true :') its a shame when people are forgotten.

  • @Salguine Many U.S. soldiers in the 1950s stated that Roosevelt had abused them for the Communist cause. And General George S. Patton came to see too early on. So Patton was staged into a road incident and killed in hospital by OSS secret agents.

  • @Salguine "All soldiers are victims of their own governments".

All Soldiers are servants of their Governments. That is what Soldiers do.

  • @Salguine

    Bullshit.

    I volunteered.

  • @101327 Well, that certainly clears that up. Meaning what, exactly?

  • @Salguine

Meaning that The US has an all- volunteer force. Volunteers aren't victims.

  • @101327 It wasn't all-volunteer in 1861-1865. Or in 1917-1920. Come to think of it, it wasn't all-volunteer from 1940 to 1946. Or from 1950 to 1953, either. And there was that stretch from 1963 to 1973 where it wasn't voluntary.

When I say soldiers are victims of their governments, I mean that soldiers are the ones who pay the price for their governments' failure to avoid or prevent wars. I can't believe I have to explain that.

  • @Salguine SCREW YOU! WE ARE NOT MINDLESS ROBOTS! WE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE DO AND WHY WE DO IT! People like you MAKE ME SICK! HOWEVER, we fight and die so morons like you can have the freedom to say whatever you want... enjoy your freedom DIRTBAG! Someone died so you could have it!

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 I'm very, very pleased to make you sick. I will continue to do so as long as i possibly can. "We" fight and die? Who's this "we"? Are you cruising YouTube from the great beyond? If you want to impress me, go to Iraq and die yourself.

  • @Salguine Do you have no comprehension of the English language? Put what I said into CONTEXT. "we" is my brothers-in-arms and I. I'd be MORE impressed if YOU had the balls to go to Iraq. You probably think there were no WMDs in Iraq too huh? LOL... funny... wikileaks already CONFIRMED that there were... and no.. not ones from decades ago...

  • Waht is this scene? After the and of the war or waht? Why arent theese Germans captured?

  • @andromedarr its at the end hes giving a speech to his men before they go home or prison but i think they went home?

  • @andromedarr They are captured. Notice that they're unarmed, unequipped, and surrounded by Americans? That's called "being a POW".

  • when ppl think of germans in world war 2 they think there all rasict and hate jewish ppl there not all bad they just have to follow there country

  • Great speech. Also applies to ALL fighting forces of all sides of the conflict. Paraphrasing Beethoven, Alle menschen werden kameraden....and at the end of the day, also brothers in arms each fighting for his or her country. Thank you.

  • The majority of the fighting Germans during world war two were no perfect Nazis. They were quite simply common men, fighting for their land, home, family, and because they were ordered to it, no different from most American and British soldiers.

  • salute to the german general. stalin and his communist comrades killed so many or have the world forgot???????????????????????????????????

  • @jake3140

ONE question mark is enough. By far.

  • @jake3140 No it was the Fascist and Communist Party passing down orders to there fanataical bodyguard Soldiers. Most of these "German Generals" were not True Nazis but just Generals in Army. And Russians in the same respect.

  • Many great men were lost... It's a shame. We are all brothers in Christ.

  • Uns wenige, uns beglücktes Häuflein Brüder: Denn welcher heut sein Blut mit mir vergießt, der wird mein Bruder.

  • i love joe liegott

  • Back in that time the German soldiers done what they got ordered to the Heer was Ordered by higher People like the SS , SA and Hitler himself . Sich Speach of the General named the same as what the Americans did they fought together and the general Respects ppl wich fought for the ideals they got tought by the SS .

The thing is ..... did you ever saw a General on the Frontline ? ahahah dont make me laugh they would propably beeing somewhere save wich ist most likely there Job !

  • This is one of the greatest moments of the entire show. It both displays empathy towards the German soldiers, and also sums up the attitude that each and every member of Easy Company had to each other. Wonderful writing.

  • i like band of brothers more than the pacific

  • You look right its also a big uncounted amont of dead boady from ans childs boadys. Offials speaks from much more than 1 Million bomb casultiets - look a the rest of the buildings who should survieve there.... .

  • @ericartwo Once in power, Hitler maintained his position through force and intimidation.

  • @martinwellborne The principal of every miliary is that a soldier follows the orders without questions. Millions of brave german soldiers have this done in the WWII. The great mass of them had nothing to do with Warcrimes or other crimes. Also many members of the high command disagreed with Hitler. (Look at the plot from 20.July (Operation Valkyrie) where after the fail hundrets of high rank soldiers, Field Marshal, Generalls, etc. where executed.)

  • @Rick2010100 The vast majority of German soldiers were volunteers. They wanted to be in the military! They committed many atrocities and its on record that many groups of captured American soldiers were executed rather than waste German front-line soldiers escorting them to POW camps! For years after the war, Germans hated us all and when I go on holiday to Spain each year, I witness their snobbery, superior attitude and disdain towards us!

  • @ericartwo1 THEY WANTED TO BE IN THE MILITARY?

    sir are you stupid?

they had no choice, go into the military or get shot as a traitor,

even the ss soldiers arent volunters.

i know that cause my grandfather fought in the wehrmacht.

and srsly, you britains are damn racists, look at london times or other english papers, they always talk bad about us germans,

we germans dont hate britain or its people, but it seems that you guys hates us!

  • @Kargaron Wanting to be in the military, for whatever reason is acceptable but not to carry out atrocities to the civilians in Holland, Belgium and France! If ordered to do so by their Generals, they had to obey! Many atrocities were carried out by the will of the soldiers themselves! During the war, my home was bombed and many of my relatives in Liverpool were killed! We do not hate the German peoples, only its old leaders which many German peoples supported!

  • @ericartwo1 If you study History, you will find that a majority the German Peoples were entirely unaware of Hitlers motives until after the war. Many of those who understood them did not support them, as is made evident by his arrest and imprisonment after the Beer Hall Putsch. It was only through DECEPTION that Hitler came to power; promising to return the jobs that were taken from the Germans by the glaringly biased and unfair Treaty of Versailles, which is the true cause of WWII.

  • @Kargaron Relax my friend! WE do hate Germans these days on special occasions! Firstly when we play football against Germany and you beat us! Secondly, when I go on holiday to Spain and you get your towels on the sun-beds before I do. You have got some tricky and devious sun-bathers amongst the German peoples!

  • @ericartwo1 You should change the Sun against the Times! But i was realy surprised as my english friends (50´s y.o. Banker´s) came with german colours strips on the cheek along, to watch public WC football in Berlin.

  • @Rick2010100 U must remember, throughout history, Germans have emigrated to the UK. The Jutes, Ingles (Angles), Saxons and settled most of Eastern areas of England! The our King Henry VIII invited hundreds of Germans to make armour for himself, Earls, Dukes, etc. We have admired German football for years! U may not understand that some emnity exists between Scotland & England & similarly between Germany & England. It is mutual respect for each team!

  • @ericartwo1 just kook.

Dresdner Kreuzchor: Wie liegt die Stadt so wüst (Rudolf Mauersberger)

  • @ericartwo1 and isnt it a atrocity to bomb dozens of german citys, killing hundred of thousands civilians?

  • @Kargaron Of course it was wrong! The Royal Air Force Marshall who was in command of the RAF never received any military recognition at the conclusion of the war. He earned the nickname "Bomber Harris" for authorising the bombing raids!

  • @ericartwo1 I dont know where you got these bullshit information from - sound like propaganda "information" videos from the 60´s - a lot of them out are out - with lies - like the Bismarck opens fire first at the Hood, etc. etc. Try to look on newer information sources without propaganda - just telling the truth. And at the end - see - most americans still belive there has been W.O.M.D. in Irag and Iraq was involved in 9/11. Thats has all been propaganda lies.

  • @ericartwo1 An be shure the young german soldiers have been also brainwashed in a new dimension for this time. The have had no alternative information sources like today.

  • @martinwellborne The Roayl Airforce bombed the city of Dresden - they know that there are only Women, Kids, old People in the city, but the did - over 40.000 civilians died at these day. Is the Roayl Airforce because of these case guilty in general war crimes???

  • @Rick2010100 Of course not. Loss of innocent life, even civilian, is an expected and inescapable fact of war - it has always happened, it will continue to happen. That is what separates murder from killing. And never lose hold of the fact it was the Nazis that created the chain of events that led to Dresden.

  • It is worth noting that this decorated officer is a recipient of the "Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oakleaves and Swords", of which there where only 160 awarded. Of the 160 holders of the RK (Ritterkreuz) with Oakleaves and Swords, 14 were known to still be alive in 1999 and of the 159 German holders (1 was awarded to a foreigner), 38 (24%) are known to have been killed in action or listed as missing in action during WWII.

  • what's horazontal grey and kills Jews?

    GAS PIPES

  • It's ashame that America fought the Germens in WWII. When the real enemies were the Russians, chinese, north korea, and now Israel. I don't understand why America backs up israel, when israel thinks that there the chosen people and everybody else are second class. Sorry!! if i sound ignorant.

  • @mauiluna13 It's scary to think of Israel as an enemy, namely because they are one of the elite military organizations in the world, on par with Force Recon, SEALS, Rangers and the SAS. We back them up possibly out of fear that they may turn on us.

  • @nekonaru16 While Israel does have a strong army I seriously doubt the US backs them out of fear of them turning on the US. The US is Israel's biggest supporter so Israel would gain nothing by attacking the US especially considering how much Israel needs US funding. Also the US and Israel have a common enemy, Islamic extremists, so both gain nothing and lose a lot by turning on each other.

  • @nekonaru16 I would gladly join my national army just to get a chance to kill me some jews.

  • @mauiluna13 While it saddens me that Israel has committed some horrible acts of violence I would not compare them to any of the other countries you mentioned. Israel has been surrounded by enemies who have called for its extermination since the day it became a nation. If you're wondering why the US supports Israel one of the reasons could be that the two have a common enemy, Islamic extremists. I'm also pretty sure the majority of Israelis are not as how you described them.

  • @mauiluna13 I can't imagine why you might think you sounded ignorant...

  • really happy they included this to show the humanity of the german soldier who so often are portrayed as all evil or simply targets for americans to shoot at

  • @martinwellborne because hitler made germany rise in the worst of times, and because he was such a motivational speaker. be brought them out of the depression and made them rise to power.

  • @martinwellborne, yea I toitally agree, by 1944 the war was lost. However Hitler would not allow surrender, he still believed in his super weapons and that they would turn the balance. Hitler wanted total German victory and if this was not achievable he wanted the German people to be destroyed. Unfortunately Hitler had to many people loyal to him for any real oposition.

  • Love it or hate it, if it wasn't for Hitler making stupid and cocky decisions[thank god he made them though], the Wehrmacht might have won the war.

  • Wow that General is a true arian.. What is that gentlemans name?

  • @tmib92 True Aryan would actually denote Iranian and Indo-Aryan people.

  • Great speach, it showed how much the two Armies and soldiers had in common.

  • it would be interesting how german, sounds for an english speaker

  • Germans are fighting because the one who has Power wants it....

  • actually, why do german people hate jew post WW1?

  • @orga210hp Hitler blamed the jews for the state in which his country was left after WWI, since most jewish communities throughout Europe were merchant class (bankers, traders, manufacturers) aswell as doctors and other important professions, and he thought they were stealing his countries wealth on purpose.

  • @orga210hp It was also known that Hitler suffered from a disease (can't remember which) and the doctor that tried to treat him and failed was jewish, and hence his hatred is speculated to truly derive from this.

  • @orga210hp Some Germans just followed Hitler because he was powerful, others because they agreed, and others because they had no choice but to do so. Most likely, most of the soldiers that died for Germany, died only for their oath to defend their country at all costs, and not because of petty discriminatory issues.

  • @Enzigurator actually most Wermacth troops believe in hitlers cause because they were trained that way like the S.S for example

  • @fatalbert01 The SS were not only trained that way, they were also brainwashed to think that way.But the fact that most of the assassination attempts against Hitler were organized by German high officers should tell you something.

  • @plushyshotgun1 they werent really brainwashed.... they believed that kinda just because it worked. everything hitler had said made sense.

  • why is the german talking to the americans?

  • @12oleidole He's not, he's talking to his own troops and the Americans are just watching and listening

  • @xna7ex oh i dindt se it.

  • One of the best parts of the series.

  • Saying that all german soldiers in WW2 were nazis is a bit like saying that all US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are republicans.

  • the most german wehrmacht soldiers arent nazis ;) the SS was the nazi army that follow his "führer" ideals.

  • well the same time i hate them all those dum nazis but it must be horrible to lose, a war and come back to your country and see that it was all war thorn, i think we can all agree on that .

  • great speech from a German officer, the proof that the German was not all like Hitler

  • remember how ur elementary teacher said, "dont judge a book by its cover?" same concept..

  • @mikewasaski1 Erwin Rommel was another great german officer, probably the best in the German army in WWII. You should read up on him, you'd be impressed.
